With recent increase of cars, the noise problem has been caused by the exhaust sounds released from exhaust pipes, which consist of weak and pulsed shock waves called blast waves. To diminish the noise, a silencer is set up in front of the exhaust pipe. In the present study, reflectors were installed in the high-pressure section of the shock tube to generate blast waves, and three types of expansion region were investigated, combined with acoustic material of glass wool. The pressure decay was evaluated by transmission factor and reflection factor for the incident blast wave, together with pressure histories and high-speed Schlieren photography. As results, it was confirmed that the acoustic material greatly contributed to blast-wave attenuation: the one stage expansion model with glass wool recorded the highest decay of the peak over pressure for transmission, and other models with glass wool showed the second highest. The acoustic material also contributed to decay of reflected shock waves propagating toward an upstream duct. 展开更多

In this study,we systematically investigate theαdecay preformation factors,Pα,and theαdecay half-lives of 152 nuclei around Z=82,N=126 closed shells based on the generalized liquid drop model(GLDM)with Pαbeing extracted from the ratio of the calculatedαdecay half-life to the experimental one.The results show that there is a remarkable linear relationship between Pαand the product of valance protons(holes)Np and valance neutrons(holes)Nn.At the same time,we extract theαdecay preformation factor values of the even–even nuclei around the Z=82,N=126 closed shells from the study of Sun et al.[J.Phys.G:Nucl.Part.Phys.,45:075106(2018)],in which theαdecay was calculated by two different microscopic formulas. We find that theαdecay preformation factors are also related to NpNn.Combining with our previous studies[Sun et al.,Phys.Rev.C,94:024338(2016);Deng et al.,ibid.96:024318(2017);Deng et al.,ibid.97:044322(2018)]and that of Seif et al.,[Phys.Rev.C,84:064608(2011)],we suspect that this phenomenon of linear relationship for the nuclei around the above closed shells is model-independent.This may be caused by the effect of the valence protons(holes)and valence neutrons(holes)around the shell closures. Finally, using the formula obtained by fitting theαdecay preformation factor data calculated by the GLDM,we calculate theαdecay half-lives of these nuclei. The calculated results agree with the experimental data well. 展开更多

Wind speed and direction data during typhoon Meari were obtained from eight anemometers installed at heights of 10, 20, 30, and 40 m on a 40-m tower built in the Pudong area of Shanghai. Wind-turbulence characteristics, including wind-speed profile, turbulence integral scale, power spectra, correlations, and coherences were analyzed. Wind-speed profiles varied with time during the passage of Meari. Measured wind-speed profiles could be expressed well by both a power law and a log law. Turbulence integral scales for u, v, and w components all increased with wind speed. The ratios of the turbulence scales among the turbulence components averaged for all 10-min data were 1:0.69:0.08 at 10 m, 1:0.61:0.09 at 20 m, and 1:0.65:0.13 at 40 m. The turbulence integral scales for the u and v components increased with average gust time, but the turbulence integral scale for the w component remained almost constant when the gust duration was greater than 10 min. The decay factor of the coherence function increased slightly with wind speed, with average values for longitudinal and lateral dimensions of 14.3 and 11.3, respectively. The slope rates of the turbulence spectra in the inertial range were less than -5/3 at first, but gradually satisfied the Kolmogorov 5/3 law. The longitudinal wind-power fluctuation spectrum roughly fitted the von Karman spectrum, but slight deviations occurred in the high-frequency band for lateral and vertical wind-power fluctuation spectra. 展开更多
