The aim of this study is to provide the quantificational change laws of strength,stiffness,and deformation capacity of frost-damaged concrete relating to a united index,the data were obtained by different researchers....The aim of this study is to provide the quantificational change laws of strength,stiffness,and deformation capacity of frost-damaged concrete relating to a united index,the data were obtained by different researchers.Then the index of relative compressive strength(RCS) was introduced as the indicator of frost damage and a large number of mechanical performance testing data of frost-damaged concrete were collected and analyzed.By curve fitting,the correlations between RCS and the initial elastic modulus,the strain at peak compressive stress,and biaxial compressive strength,and tensile strength,and the strain at peak tensile stress were established.Thereafter,the analytical stress-strain response of frost-damaged concrete under monotonic loading was presented using RCS and compared with that of the experimental data.Moreover,an isotropic elastoplastic damage model of frost-damaged concrete subjected to repeated loading was established.Finally,we can systematically estimate the effects of frost-damage on the mechanical performance of concrete,which can be provided for the numerical simulation of frost-damaged concrete structures.展开更多
Serving as recycled coarse aggregate,the pretreated rural building waste was added into the concrete hollow bricks in the varying replacement of 0,20%,40%,60%,80% and 100%.By testing its compressive strength,flexural ...Serving as recycled coarse aggregate,the pretreated rural building waste was added into the concrete hollow bricks in the varying replacement of 0,20%,40%,60%,80% and 100%.By testing its compressive strength,flexural strength,mass and strength loss after freeze-thaw cycles,the impact of the different replacement on mechanical and frost-resistance properties of concrete hollow bricks was presented through SEM analysis.The experimental results show that,with the increase in recycled coarse aggregate replacement rate,the mechanical and frost-resistance properties show a downward trend;when the replacement rate is 40%,28 d compressive strength and flexural strength of concrete hollow brick demonstrate the good peak value which meet the requirement of the national standard for ordinary small concrete hollow bricks;the interfacial structures of the pretreated recycled concrete is more complicated than those of concrete made of natural aggregate,but the former enjoys better interface bonding and tight structure.展开更多
Thermal insulation is an important indicator to evaluate the construction material in cold region engineering.As we know,adding the industrial waste as lightweight aggregate or creating the pore inside the cement-base...Thermal insulation is an important indicator to evaluate the construction material in cold region engineering.As we know,adding the industrial waste as lightweight aggregate or creating the pore inside the cement-based composite could make the texture loose,and the thermal insulating capacity of the material would be improved with this texture.Using these methods,the industrial by-product and engineering waste could be cycled in an efficient way.Moreover,after service the fragmented cement composites paste could be used as aggregate in the thermal insulating concrete again.While the porous texture is not favorable for the mechanical strength and long-term durability in a cold environment.To balance the above three requirements from two opposite directions,different processing methods were applied to create the thermal insulation concrete/mortar.Firstly,the organic/inorganic lightweight aggregate,including the Expanded Polystyrene(EPS),Expanded Perlite(EP),and Ceramsite(CRMST)particles,were applied to create the Lightweight Aggregate Concrete(LWAC).As the comparative tests,the expanded Superabsorbent Polymer(SAP)hydrogel and Air-Entraining Agent(AEA)were also introduced to create the porous mortar.The above concrete/mortar was tested in the normal state and under the Freeze-Thaw cycle to explore the engineering performance in cold regions.During the experimenting process,the thermal insulation,mechanical strength,and frost resistance of these cement-based composites were investigated,and an optimal thermal insulation concrete/mortar was determined.展开更多
