This paper investigates the consensus control of multi-agent systems(MASs) with constrained input using the dynamic event-triggered mechanism(ETM).Consider the MASs with small-scale networks where a centralized dynamic ETM with global information of the MASs is first designed.Then,a distributed dynamic ETM which only uses local information is developed for the MASs with large-scale networks.It is shown that the semi-global consensus of the MASs can be achieved by the designed bounded control protocol where the Zeno phenomenon is eliminated by a designable minimum inter-event time.In addition,it is easier to find a trade-off between the convergence rate and the minimum inter-event time by an adjustable parameter.Furthermore,the results are extended to regional consensus of the MASs with the bounded control protocol.Numerical simulations show the effectiveness of the proposed approach. 展开更多

In this investigation, the effect of formulation variables on the release properties of timed- release press-coated tablets was studied using the Taguchi method of experimental design. Formulations were prepared based on Taguchi orthogonal array design with different types of hydrophilic polymers (X1), varying hydrophilic polymer/ethyl cellulose ratio (X2), and addition of magnesium stearate (X3) as independent variables. The design was quantitatively evalu-ated by best fit mathematical model. The results from the statistical analysis revealed that factor X1, X3 and interaction factors between X1X2 and X1X3 were found to be significant on the re-sponse lag time (Y1), where as only factor X1 was found to be significant on the response percent drug release at 8 hrs (Y2). A numerical optimization technique by desirability function was used to optimize the response variables, each having a different target. Based on the re-sults of optimization study, HPC was identified as the most suitable hydrophilic polymer and incorporation of hydrophobic agent magnesium stearate, could significantly improve the lag time of the timed-release press-coated tablet. 展开更多

Crossover designs are well-known to have major advantages when comparing the effects of various non-curative treatments. We compare efficiencies of several crossover designs along with the Balaam’s design with that of a parallel group design pertaining to longitudinal studies where event time can only be measured in discrete time intervals. With equally sized sequences, the parallel group design results in the greater efficiency if the number of time periods is small. However, the crossover and Balaam’s designs tend to be more efficient as the study duration increases. The degree to which these designs add efficiency depends on the baseline hazard function and effect size. Additionally, we incorporate different cost considerations at the subject level when comparing the designs to determine the most cost-efficient design. Researchers might consider the crossover or Balaam’s design more efficient if the duration of the study is long enough, especially if the costs of applying the baseline treatment are higher. 展开更多

With the help of the controller of concurrent design, each feature of a part can be designed and evaluated based on manufacturing knowledge and resources, and can be modified according to the results of evaluation. The machining method of design feature can be selected based on manufacturing knowledge. So real time concurrent product and process design can be implemented based on integrated product model that is established based on generalized feature. Products and its design process can be optimized with the help of this system. The information and function integration of product design process can be realized. Statistic analysis and tentative checkout about a lot of test data are done, feasibility gists are put forward for optimizing of the test design scheme. The optimizing design and data analysis of test scheme of the item are done by managing uniformity design theory, two scientific and reasonable six-point test schemes are confirmed. The feasibility and reliability of the optimizing design schemes put forward above are proved ulteriorly by test validating. The gained schemes not only have good design uniformity and little ammunition wastage and meet the test demand, but also have better forecast ability for the result data of other points using the mathematic models from the actual test points. 展开更多

The choice of methods or design languages is a crucial phase in the development of systems and software, also for real time and embedded systems. An open question that remains in the design of these types of systems is to build a method, or to choose one among those existing, capable to cover the life cycle of a project, and particularly the development phases. This article contributes to answer the question, by proposing an approach based on a multi-criteria comparative study, of few languages and methods dedicated to the design of real time and embedded systems. The underlying objective of this work is to present to designers a wide range of approaches, and elements that can guide their choices. In order to reach this goal, we propose different comparison criteria. Each criterion is divided into sub-criteria, so that the designers can refine their choices according to the qualities they prefer and wish to have in the method or language. We also define a rating scale which is used to assess the retained languages and methods. The scores obtained from this assessment are presented in tables, one table per criterion, followed by a summary table giving the overall scores. Graphics built from these tables are provided and intend to facilitate the judgement and thus the choice of the designers. 展开更多

A cross-layer design(CLD)scheme with combination of power allocation,adaptive modulation(AM)and automatic repeat request(ARQ)is presented for space-time coded MIMO system under imperfect feedback,and the corresponding system performance is investigated in a Rayleigh fading channel.Based on imperfect feedback information,a suboptimal power allocation(PA)scheme is derived to maximize the average spectral efficiency(SE)of the system.The scheme is based on a so-called compressed SNR criterion,and has a closed-form expression for positive power allocation,thus being computationally efficient.Moreover,it can improve SE of the presented CLD.Besides,due to better approximation,it obtains the performance close to the existing optimal approach which requires numerical search.Simulation results show that the proposed CLD with PA can achieve higher SE than the conventional CLD with equal power allocation scheme,and has almost the same performance as CLD with optimal PA.However,it has lower calculation complexity. 展开更多

Although computer architectures incorporate fast processing hardware resources, high performance real-time implementation of a complex control algorithm requires an efficient design and software coding of the algorithm so as to exploit special features of the hardware and avoid associated architecture shortcomings. This paper presents an investigation into the analysis and design mechanisms that will lead to reduction in the execution time in implementing real-time control algorithms. The proposed mechanisms are exemplified by means of one algorithm, which demonstrates their applicability to real-time applications. An active vibration control (AVC) algorithm for a flexible beam system simulated using the finite difference (FD) method is considered to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods. A comparative performance evaluation of the proposed design mechanisms is presented and discussed through a set of experiments. 展开更多

Firstly, a sampled-data descriptor model with time-vary delay is proposed and transformed into a discrete-time non-singular one. Then, a robust sensor fault diagnosis observer is proposed based on the state estimation error and the measurement residual, this observer can guarantee the robustness of the residual against the augmented disturbance and the sensor fault, which means the H∞ performance index is satisfied. As the confining matrix of the designed observer parameters does not meet the Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI), a cone complementary linearization (CCL) algorithm is proposed to solve this problem. The decision logic of the residual is obtained by the residual evaluation function. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the method. 展开更多

This paper investigates the finite-time attitude tracking problem for rigid spacecraft. Two backstepping finite-time slid- ing mode control laws are proposed to solve this problem in the presence of inertia uncertainties and external disturbances. The first control scheme is developed by combining sliding mode con- trol with a backstepping technique to achieve fast and accurate tracking responses. To obtain higher tracking precision and relax the requirement of the upper bounds on the uncertainties, a se- cond control law is also designed by combining the second or- der sliding mode control and an adaptive backstepping technique. This control law provides complete compensation of uncertainty and disturbances. Although it assumes that the uncertainty and disturbances are bounded, the proposed control law does not require information about the bounds on the uncertainties and disturbances. Finite-time convergence of attitude tracking errors and the stability of the closed-loop system are ensured by the Lya- punov approach. Numerical simulations on attitude tracking control of spacecraft are provided to demonstrate the performance of the proposed controllers. 展开更多

Since the knotters on the Chinese rectangular balers are imported from outside of the country, Chinese knotters with independent intellectual property rights is far away from being closed. In order to harvest a large quantity of straw in a short period on the small-scale lands of China, basic requirements on the knotters are summarized. Mathematical model of the knotter is also determined uniquely. Furthermore, the ^-type-knots knotter equipped on the Chinese square baler to form the ~ type knots is designed. Knotting rate experiments of the qb-type-knots knotter on the test bench and in the wheat/maize straws covered fields are carried out to check the knotting performances of the knotter. The parameters of the formed knots are also tested. The experiments results show that the knotting rate of the qb-type-knots knotter reaches 100.0% on the test bench without straws, while reaches 99.6% in the wheat straws covered field and 100.0% in the maize straws covered field. The average maximum force in the knotting process is 194.7 N in the lab experiment. The length out of the knots formed in lab is 15.9%-20.6% lower than the knots formed in the field experiment. The breaking force of the knots formed in the field is 115.9%-167.2% higher than the knots formed in lab due to the higher preload and interactions with the compacted bales. Highly relevant relationships exist between the breaking force of the formed knots and the maximum force in the forming process of the knots in the lab experiment. The designed knotter breaks out the embarrassing situation of the domestic knotters which don't have independent intellectual property rights, and promotes the development of Chinese knotter technology, and the mathematical model is helpful for designing new type of knotters. 展开更多
