The world is currently undergoing profound changes which have never happened within the past century.Global competition in the technology and industry fields is becoming increasingly fierce. The strategic competition of the major powers further focuses on the manufacturing industry.Developed countries such as the United States,Germany, and Japan have successively put forward strategic plans such as“re-industrialization”and“return of manufacturing industry”,aiming to seize the commanding heights of a new round of global high-end technology competition and expand international market share.Standing at the historic intersection of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and China's accelerated high-quality development,the“14th Five-Year Plan”clearly pointed out that intelligent manufacturing is the main development trend to promote China's manufacturing to the medium-high end of the global value chain. This reflects the importance of advanced manufacturing for national strategic layout. To better grasp the development direction of advanced manufacturing equipment, the development process and current application status of manufacturing equipment are summarized, and thereafter the characteristics of manufacturing equipment in different development stages of the manufacturing industry are analyzed. Finally, the development trend of advanced milling equipment is prospected. 展开更多

The matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs) are a family of zinc-dependent endopeptidases originally characterized as secreted proteases responsible for degrading extracellular matrix proteins.Their canonical role in matrix remodelling is of significant importance in neural development and regeneration, but emerging roles for MMPs,especially in signal transduction pathways, are also of obvious importance in a neural context.Misregulation of MMP activity is a hallmark of many neuropathologies, and members of every branch of the MMP family have been implicated in aspects of neural development and disease. However, while extraordinary research efforts have been made to elucidate the molecular mechanisms involving MMPs,methodological constraints and complexities of the research models have impeded progress. Here we discuss the current state of our understanding of the roles of MMPs in neural development using recent examples and advocate a phylogenetically diverse approach to MMP research as a means to both circumvent the challenges associated with specific model organisms, and to provide a broader evolutionary context from which to synthesize an understanding of the underlying biology. 展开更多

The Liaodong Shoal is a group of linear sand ridges located in the east Bohai Sea of China. In this study,54 surface sediment samples have been collected, current measurements at 4 stations have been carried out and bathymetric data were obtained. The current directions are rightward deflected relative to the strikes of the sand ridges.Affected by the narrowing effect of the ridge, the current velocities exhibited an anti-‘C’type vertical profile. The velocities of the lower currents linearly correlate with the water depths. The near-bed current velocities over the troughs are estimated to be higher than those over the ridges, and this feature could be explained by the loss of kinetic energy together with the conversion between kinetic energy and gravitational potential energy. The sedimentary characteristics that are compatible with the tidal dynamics are developed across the ridges and troughs, including grain size compositions, grain size parameters, mineral compositions and Dhm indexes. The existence of the angles between the current directions and the strikes of the sand ridges is the key factor for the growth of the sand ridges. The asymmetric hydrodynamic features between the flood and ebb currents lead to the differences in the topographical and sedimentary characteristics on both sides of a sand ridge.Insufficient material supply led to the degradation of the sand ridges, and the reduction of the tidal current intensity has led to the development of the subordinate sand ridges in the troughs.Sand ridges are migrating. 展开更多

Based on the latest drilling, seismic and field outcrop data, the geological characteristics(e.g. strata, development and sedimentary evolution) of the southern segment of the Late Sinian–Early Cambrian Deyang–Anyue rift trough in the Sichuan Basin are analyzed. First, the strata in the southern segment are complete. The first to second members of Dengying Formation(Deng 1 + Deng 2) are found with relatively stable thickness(400–550 m), and the third to fourth members(Deng 3+ Deng 4) show great thickness difference between the marginal trough and the inner trough, which is up to 250 m. The Cambrian Maidiping Formation and Qiongzhusi Formation in southern Sichuan Basin are relatively thin, with the thickness changing greatly and frequently. Second, the Deyang–Anyue rift trough extended southward during the Deng 4 period, affecting southern Sichuan Basin. Compared to the middle and northern segments of the rift trough, the southern segment is generally wide, gentle and shallow, with multiple steps, and alternating uplifts and sags, which are distributed in finger shape. Third, the Deng 1 + Deng 2 in southern Sichuan Basin records the dominance of carbonate platform and unobvious sedimentary differentiation, and the Deng 4 exhibits obvious sedimentary differentiation, namely, basin–slope–secondary slope–slope–secondary slope–platform margin–restricted platform, from the inner trough to the marginal trough. Fourth, the rift trough in southern Sichuan Basin has evolved in four stages: stabilization of Deng 1–Deng 2, initialization of Deng 3–Deng 4, filling of Maidiping–Qiongzhusi, and extinction of Canglangpu Formation. 展开更多

Due to the economic value of natural textile fiber, cotton has attracted much research attention, which has led to the publication of two diploid genomes and two tetraploid genomes. These big data facilitate functional genomic study in cotton, and allow researchers to investigate cotton genome structure, gene expression, and protein function on the global scale using high-throughput methods. In this review, we summarized recent studies of cotton genomes. Population genomic analyses revealed the domestication history of cultivated upland cotton and the roles of transposable elements in cotton genome evolution.Alternative splicing of cotton transcriptomes was evaluated genome-widely. Several important gene families like MYC, NAC, Sus and GhPLDal were systematically identified and classified based on genetic structure and biological function. High-throughput proteomics also unraveled the key functional proteins correlated with fiber development. Functional genomic studies have provided unprecedented insights into global-scale methods for cotton research. 展开更多

The emergence of competitive sports in ancient China is closely related to military activities. With the evolution and development of society, many sporting events have been introduced to and accepted by,the people and later carried forward from generation to generation. In the Han Dynasty, thanks to the strong national strength and booming economy, competitive sports witnessed rapid development.People at that time, from imperial officials to common people, were all keen on various competitive sports and such sports were also very popular among the folk.Along with this, there emerged multiple monographs on sports.Portrait bricks are the remnants of the lavish burial rituals of the Han Dynasty. As the economy grew and social wealth amassed, the lavish burial custom prevailing since the Spring and Autumn Period reached its peak in the Han Dynasty, especially in the Eastern Han Dynasty.People would bury in tombs along with various articles they used before they died. They would also paint the life of the tomb owner on bricks to decorate the tomb by embedding them in the tomb chamber. The images on the portrait bricks unearthed from the tombs of the Han Dynasty are the most intuitive and convincing physical evidence to reflect the development of competitive sports at that time.We conduct a preliminary study on competitive sports in the Han Dynasty by using the portrait bricks of the Han Dynasty unearthed in Sichuan province and the Yellow River basin as examples, aiming to do our bit to build a sporting powerhouse and a healthy China. 展开更多

Urban agglomeration on Yangtze River Delta (UA-YRD) had some advantages in the aspects of water, land, ecological environment, location and transportation. Relying on the resource-environment bases and other advantages, UA-YRD has achieved great development. Based on index system and model of comprehensive evaluation, the paper calculates the development level of UA-YRD since 1978. The result shows that from 1978 to 2007, the development level increased year by year at development could be divided into three an annual rate of 0.0333, and the process of stages, i.e. low-speed development stage (1978-1991), rapid development stage (1991-2000), and high-speed development stage (2000-2007). The speeds are 0.0083, 0.0356 and 0.0766, respectively. During the 30-year development, foreign economic activity has the greatest effect on development, followed by transportation, industrial economic activity and telecommunication (in order). Additionally, different driving forces have different effects in different stages. The paper suggests that more attention should be paid to the high-speed development stage and the important driving forces to drive its development. At the same time, the limitation of resource and environment should not be neglected and a long effective mechanism needs to be established to sustain harmonious development among the UA development, resource utilization and environmental protection. Some comparative studies should be carried out urgently to support and promote sustainable development of UA effectively, especially towards evolution, driving forces and braking forces. 展开更多

An open source software (OSS) ecosystem refers to an OSS development community composed of many software projects and developers contributing to these projects. The projects and developers co-evolve in an ecosystem. To keep healthy evolution of such OSS ecosystems, there is a need of attracting and retaining developers, particularly project leaders and core developers who have major impact on the project and the whole team. Therefore, it is important to figure out the factors that influence developers' chance to evolve into project leaders and core developers. To identify such factors, we conducted a case study on the GNOME ecosystem. First, we collected indicators reflecting developers' subjective willingness to contribute to the project and the project environment that they stay in. Second, we calculated such indicators based on the GNOME dataset. Then, we fitted logistic regression models by taking as independent variables the resulting indicators after eliminating the most collinear ones, and taking as a dependent variable the future developer role (the core developer or project leader). The results showed that part of such indicators (e.g., the total number of projects that a developer joined) of subjective willingness and project environment significantly influenced the developers' chance to evolve into core developers and project leaders. With different validation methods, our obtained model performs well on predicting developmental core developers, resulting in stable prediction performance (0.770, F-value). 展开更多

Accurately simulating the soil nitrogen(N)cycle is crucial for assessing food security and resource utilization efficiency. The accuracy of model predictions relies heavily on model parameterization. The sensitivity and uncertainty of the simulations of soil N cycle of winter wheat-summer maize rotation system in the North China Plain(NCP)to the parameters were analyzed.First, the N module in the Vegetation Interface Processes(VIP)model was expanded to capture the dynamics of soil N cycle calibrated with field measurements in three ecological stations from 2000 to 2015.Second,the Morris and Sobol algorithms were adopted to identify the sensitive parameters that impact soil nitrate stock, denitrification rate, and ammonia volatilization rate. Finally, the shuffled complex evolution developed at the University of Arizona(SCE-UA)algorithm was used to optimize the selected sensitive parameters to improve prediction accuracy. The results showed that the sensitive parameters related to soil nitrate stock included the potential nitrification rate,Michaelis constant, microbial C/N ratio, and slow humus C/N ratio, the sensitive parameters related to denitrification rate were the potential denitrification rate,Michaelis constant, and N2 O production rate, and the sensitive parameters related to ammonia volatilization rate included the coefficient of ammonia volatilization exchange and potential nitrification rate.Based on the optimized parameters, prediction efficiency was notably increased with the highest coefficient of determination being approximately 0.8.Moreover,the average relative interval length at the 95% confidence level for soil nitrate stock, denitrification rate, and ammonia volatilization rate were 11.92,0.008,and 4.26,respectively,and the percentages of coverage of the measured values in the 95% confidence interval were 68%,86%,and 92%,respectively.By identifying sensitive parameters related to soil N,the expanded VIP model optimized by the SCE-UA algorithm can effectively simulate the dynamics of soil nitrate stock, denitrification rate, and ammonia volatilization rate in the NCP. 展开更多
