As part of a broader research of ours during the past two years, by the process of completing anonymous self-report questionnaires of personal data by the athletes themselves, a database was created by 29 different factors affecting the development of volleyball athletes in Greece and abroad. This paper presents the results of a sample processing 466 people which is comprised exclusively by Greek athletes of AI, A2 and A3 volleyball class and a comparative investigation of the degree of influence of a group of factors is done in their athletic development. Specifically, the influence of the family environment (degree of parental support) is studied, the age of onset, the systematic engagement of the athletes in volleyball during childhood-school age. Finally, their possible involvement with other different sports is investigated during the school year and the degree of impact of this factor in their sport development and career paths. From the statistical sample processing (frequency diagrams) and the multivariate correlation of various factors among the athletes in different categories, it was established that, starting the sport of volleyball at an early age which is associated with intense pace workouts does not show a strong correlation with the expectation of future creation of high-level athletes. While in contrast, the simultaneous engagement of children with other collective sports (mainly basketball and football), and the degree of support of their efforts from parents are very positive factors for their athletic development. Through the results of our study, the view of the generalization of the application of an "early specialization model" of the volleyball athletes is not supported, which as we have seen from the survey, is already underway in A3 category. Instead, a very careful and thorough investigation of all relevant factors should be preceded, which will help in the final selection of the most appropriate development model of volleyball athletes in our country.展开更多

A myriad of eye diseases are characterized by retinal degeneration, caused by either genetic or environmental factors. This underscores the importance of studying the genetic and molecular mechanisms that regulate the generation and maintenance of neurons in the mammalian retina. Our recent studies demonstrate that two related transcription factors Onecutl (Ocl) and Onecut2 (0c2) regulate multiple cell fates in the mouse retina, and their absence results in progressive retinal neurodegeneration (Wu et al., 2012, 2013; Sapkota et al., 2014).展开更多

OBJECTIVE: To comparatively observe the difference in accompanying diseases, transcranial doppler (TCD) performance, blood glucose and blood lipid level between BD patients and healthy subjects who received health examination, and between BD patients with different disease condition. DESIGN : Case-control analysis SETTING : Department of Emergency, Qingdao Municipal Hospita PARTICIPANTS: Totally 126 patients with BD, 65 male and 61 female, aged from 67 to 85 years old, who hospitalized in the Medical School Hospital of Qingdao University and Qingdao Municipal People's Hospital, were chosen, serving as BD patients group. All the patients met the clinical diagnostic criteria of BD introduced by Bennett et al. Another 126 persons, 65 male and 61 female, aged ranging from 67 to 80 years, who received health examination in the same hospital, were homeochronously chosen, serving as control group. Informed consents were obtained from all the subjects. METHODS : After being admitted, all the subjects including BD patients and persons who homeochrenously received health examination in the same hospital were given examinations of blood pressure, blood lipid, blood glucose, electrocardiogram (ECG) and TCD. Fifty-seven patients with BD were in the stable period and 69 in the progressive period (Stable period: no local or subcortical function disorder found, and no changes in the range of white matter lesion showed by CT and/or MRI in recent 3 months; Progressive period: with local or subcortical function disorder and increase in the range of white matter lesion showed by CT and/or MRI in recent 3 months). According to intimal thickening of carotid artery and vertebral artery preformed by TCD, BD was graded as mild intimal thickening (〈 1.1 mm), moderate intimal thickening (1.1 to 1.2 mm) and severe intimal thickening (〉 1.2 mm). MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES : Comparison of the ratio of BD patients with accompanied diabetes mellitus, hypedipemia, coronary heart disease and transient ischemic attacks, TCD performance, blood glucose and blood lipid level between BD patients group and control group, and among BD patients with vadous disease conditions. RESULTS: Totally 126 BD patients and 126 subjects who received health examination all participated in the result analysis. Intergroup comparison: ①The ratio of BD patients with accompanied hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hypedipemia, transient ischemic attacks and coronary heart disease was 91.3%, 46.8%, 42.9%, 81.7% and 46.0% respectively in the BD patients group, and that was 36.5%, 17.5%, 15.9%, 34.1% and 34.1%, respectively in the control group. Significant difference existed between two groups (x^2=86.201, 24.907,25.660,58.620,9.900, P 〈 0.01 ).②Compared with control group, anterior, middle cerebral and vertebrobasilar arteriosclerosis and insufficient cerebral blood supply existed significantly in BD patients with different disease condition (x^2=40.34,7.585,15.429, P 〈 0.01 ).③Compared with control group, the level of blood glucose, total cholesterol and triglyceride of BD patients increased significantly (t=6.939,3.891,3.711 ,P 〈 0.01 ). Comparison among BD patients with different disease condition: ① Compared with stable period, transient ischemic attacks and coronary heart disease were found much in the BD patients at progressive period, with significant difference (x^2=7.196,13.517,P 〈 0.01 ).② Mild arteriosclerosis at stable period was found in 17 cases, and significant difference existed compared with progressive period (x^2=6.523,P 〈 0.05).③ There was no significant difference in the blood glucose and blood lipid level (t=-1.755 6,0.583 1,0.824 6, P 〉 0.05). CONCLUSION: Hypertension, cerebral arteriosclerosis, diabetes mellitus, hypedipemia, coronary heart disease and transient ischemic attacks have important effects on the onset of BD; Transient ischemic attacks and coronary heart disease can worsen the symptoms of BD patients.展开更多

The study showed that water waves propagating over silty seabed can induce significant change of pore water pressure, and the amplitude of pore pressure depends on depth of buried soil layer, clay content and wave height, which are considered as the three influencing factors for pore water pressure change. The pressure will attenuate according to exponential law with increase of soil layer buried depth, and the attenuation being more rapid in those soil layers with higher clay content and greater wave height. The pore pressure in silty seabed increases rapidly in the initial stage of wave action, then decreases gradually to a stable value, depending on the depth of buried soil layer, clay content and wave height. The peak value of pore pressure will increase if clay content or depth of buried soil layer decreases, or wave height increases. The analysis indicated that these soils with 5% clay content and waves with higher wave height produce instability in bed easier, and that the wave energy is mostly dissipated near the surface of soils and 5% clay content in soils can prevent pore pressure from dissipating immediately.展开更多

The present study focused on the prognostic indicators of Chinese patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma. METHODS: A total of 300 patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma who had undergone curative resection were included. The resection and R0/R1 resection rates for adenocarcinomas from different parts of the pancreas were calculated and clinical characteristics were analyzed.RESULTS: In 3427 patients diagnosed with pancreatic adenocarcinomas, only 300(8.8%) were eligible for radical resection. The total median survival of these patients was 19 months, and their 1-, 3-, and 5-year survival rates were 72.5%, 28.0% and 23.4%, respectively. The prognostic factors included socioeconomic status, smoking history, symptoms, high blood glucose, and various tumor characteristics, including perineural and vascular invasion, lymph node metastases, and CA19-9 levels before and after operation. Operation-associated prognostic indicators included operation time, blood loss and transfusions, pancreatic fistula, and complications. Independent predictors of mortality included poor socioeconomic status, smoking history, symptoms, CA19-9, perineural invasion and lymph node metastasis, grade of fistula and complications. Patient survival was not correlated with either resection margin or adjuvant chemotherapy in multivariate analysis.CONCLUSIONS: The survival rates of patients with curative resection for pancreatic adenocarcinoma in China are close to those in developed countries, but curative resection rate is far below. Socioeconomic status, symptoms, and CA19-9 are the three most prominent prognostic factors, which are helpful in patient selection and perioperative care.展开更多

In this article, SMM is defined as one's cognitive structure, thinking mode, and behavior tendency when someone deals with sustainability issues. After theoretical analysis, the authors developed reliable and valid measures systematically and conducted a typical survey with 581 participants from college students' families in Guangdong province in China. Based on those samples, the author used the exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis to construct a measurement model of SMM, which includes three dimensions, i.e. sustainable cognition, sustainable thinking, and sustainable behavior intention. According to SMM survey and clustering analysis, the results indicate that SMM of those participants is inactive. Even though those samples do not represent the whole country comprehensively, but this survey was sampled typically and they came from around China. So, the authors consider the SMM scores can reflect Chinese people to some extent, leading to the assumption that SMM of Chinese people is not active presently.展开更多

文摘This article aims to investigate the public's sustainability mental model(SMM), which can reveal the sustainability dilemma from the public respective, other than enterprise or government. So, the authors consider the SMM scores can reflect Chinese people to some extent, leading to the assumption that SMM of Chinese people is not active presently.

文摘Mammalian follicles are composed of oocytes, granulosa cells, and theca cells.Theca cells form in the secondary follicles, maintaining follicular structural integrity and secreting steroid hormones. Two main sources of theca cells exist:Wilms tumor 1 positive(Wt1+)cells native to the ovary and Gli1+mesenchymal cells migrated from the mesonephros.Normal folliculogenesis is a process where oocytes, granulosa cells, and theca cells constantly interact with and support each other through autocrine and paracrine mechanisms. The proliferation and differentiation of theca cells are regulated by oocyte-derived factors, including growth development factor 9 and bone morphogenetic protein 15,and granulosa cell-derived factors, including desert hedgehog,Indian hedgehog, kit ligand,insulin-like growth factor 1,as well as hormones such as insulin and growth hormones.Current research on the origin of theca cells is limited.Identifying the origin of theca cells will help us to systematically elaborate the mechanisms of follicular formation and development.
文摘China’s reform and opening up experience over the past 40 years has provided economics with rich material for review, summary, empirical analysis and theoretical refinement. However, the prevailing research paradigm about the developmental factors underlying the reforms still takes as its criterion theoretical interpretations and assessments that apply the doctrines of neoclassical economic theory and discourse. The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China stressed the transformation of China’s economy from a stage of high-speed growth to one of high-quality development.Adopting an analytical approach that unifies historical and theoretical logic on the basis of Chinese realities will help elucidate the interrelationships and driving logic behind the progress of reform and opening up and promote the forward march of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on a solid basis of practice.
