Essential Conditions for China＇s Growth in Its Course of Reform

China＇s extraordinary performance of economic growth is not without source. It has simultaneously resulted from the profound reform and wide opening-up as a sufficient condition and from demographic dividend as a necessary condition. The characteristic of consolidating reform, opening-up, growth, and sharing in China makes its experience an inclusive development. This paper looks back at China＇s reform process to reveal how growth potentials have been translated into actual growth through factors accumulation and resources reallocation. It then points out that as the stage of dual economy development has altered and as a result demographic dividend has disappeared, the sustainable growth of the Chinese economy is facing big challenges. This paper concludes by proposing policy suggestions for deepening reform.

Auditory neuropathy-a rare condition where CI provides improved hearing and speech development

Auditory neuropathy (AN) was reported 30 years ago in 1979 when Davis and Hirsh presented the first case with normal or near normal hearing threshold but absent auditory brainstem responses.Many names have been given since then including paradoxical hearing loss,brainstem auditory processing syndrome,central auditory dysfunction,neural synchrony disorder or neural dyssynchrony.The term auditory neuropathy was first given by Sininger and colleagues in 1995.More and more AN articles have been published in recent years.The present short review and case report focus on the most important characteristics from a clinical point of view in order to let young physicians know AN,and consequently make correct diagnosis.

Current Development of Hand-painted Pastel Animation Short Film

With the rapid development of audio-visual language, production of traditional hand-painted animation has failed to keep pace with the times. This paper discussed the current foreign and domestic researches on animation, and found that the researches still focused on application of technology or theories of animation arts. The study tried to integrate traditional hand painting with computer technology, produce hand-painted pastel animation, enrich the artistic forms of hand-painted pastel animation short fi lm, improve the effi ciency of handpainted pastel production, so as to form a complete artistic realization theory system of hand-painted pastel animation short fi lm, and provide a technological and theoretical support for the development of traditional hand-painted animation.

TSC1 enables plastid development under dark conditions, contributing to rice adaptation to transplantation shock

Since its domestication from wild rice thousands of years ago, rice has been cultivated largely through transplantation. During transplantation from the nursery to the paddy field, rice seedlings experience transplantation shock which affects their physiology and production.However, the mechanisms underlying transplantation shock and rice adaptation to this shock are largely unknown. Here,we isolated a transplant-sensitive chloroplast-deficient（tsc_1）rice mutant that produces albino leaves after transplantation.Blocking light from reaching the juvenile leaves and leaf primordia caused chloroplast deficiencies in transplanted tsc_1 seedlings. TSC_1 encodes a noncanonical adenosine triphosphate-binding cassette（ABC） transporter homologous to At NAP_（14） and is of cyanobacterial origin. We demonstrate that TSC_1 controls plastid development in rice under dark conditions, and functions independently of light signaling.However, light rescued the tsc_1 mutant phenotype in a spectrum-independent manner. TSC_1 was upregulated following transplantation, and modulated the iron and copper levels, thereby regulating prolamellar body formation during the early P_4 stage of leaf development. Therefore, TSC_1 is indispensable for plastid development in the absence of light,and contributes to adaptation to transplantation shock.Our study provides insight into the regulation of plastid development and establishes a framework for improving recovery from transplantation shock in rice.
