Hierarchical Controller Synthesis Under Linear Temporal Logic Specifications Using Dynamic Quantization

Linear temporal logic(LTL)is an intuitive and expressive language to specify complex control tasks,and how to design an efficient control strategy for LTL specification is still a challenge.In this paper,we implement the dynamic quantization technique to propose a novel hierarchical control strategy for nonlinear control systems under LTL specifications.Based on the regions of interest involved in the LTL formula,an accepting path is derived first to provide a high-level solution for the controller synthesis problem.Second,we develop a dynamic quantization based approach to verify the realization of the accepting path.The realization verification results in the necessity of the controller design and a sequence of quantization regions for the controller design.Third,the techniques of dynamic quantization and abstraction-based control are combined together to establish the local-to-global control strategy.Both abstraction construction and controller design are local and dynamic,thereby resulting in the potential reduction of the computational complexity.Since each quantization region can be considered locally and individually,the proposed hierarchical mechanism is more efficient and can solve much larger problems than many existing methods.Finally,the proposed control strategy is illustrated via two examples from the path planning and tracking problems of mobile robots. 展开更多

A novel control strategy for a continuous stirred tank reactor(CSTR)system,which has the typical characteristic of strongly pronounced nonlinearity,multiple operating points,and a wide operating range,is initiated from the point of hybrid systems.The proposed scheme makes full use of the modeling power of mixed logical dy- namical(MLD)systems to describe the highly nonlinear dynamics and multiple operating points in a unified framework as a hybrid system,and takes advantage of the good control quality of model predictive control(MPC) to design a controller.Thus,this approach avoids oscillation during switching between sub-systems,helps to relieve shaking in transition,and augments the stability robustness of the whole system,and finally achieves optimal(i.e. fast and smooth)transition between operating points.The simulation results demonstrate that the presented ap- proach has a satisfactory performance. 展开更多

A lot of experimental methods have been brought forth to assess the dynamic character of the arc welding power source, but up to now, this issue has not been solved very well. In this paper, based on the fuzzy logic reasoning method, a dynamic character assessing model for the arc welding power source was established and used to analyze the dynamic character of the welding power source. Three different types of welding machine have been tested, and the characteristic information of the electrical signals such as re-striking arc voltage, low welding current and so on of the welding process were extracted accurately by using a self-developed welding dynamic arc wavelet analyzer. The experimental results indicate that this model can be used as a new assessing method for the dynamic character of the arc welding power source. 展开更多

To deal with fuzzy and dynamic knowledge on the semantic Web and its applications, a new fuzzy extension of Attribute Language with Complement based on dynamic fuzzy logic called the dynamic fuzzy description logic (DFALC) is presented. The syntax and semantics of DFALC are formally defined, and the forms of axioms and assertions are specified. The DFALC provides more reasonable logic foundation for the semantic Web, and overcomes the insufficiency of using fuzzy description logic FALC to act as logical foundation for the semantic Web. The extended DFALC is more expressive than the existing fuzzy description logics and present more fuzzy information on the semantic Web. 展开更多

The delay model used is the unit-delay model where all gates have the same propagation delay. The main advantages of this method over other techniques are its accuracy, as it is deterministic and it requires less computational effort compared to exhaustive simulation approaches. The methodology uses the Logic Pictures concept for obtaining the nodes’ toggle rates. The proposed method is applied to well-known circuits and the results are compared to exhaustive simulation and Monte Carlosimulation methods. 展开更多

Parallel connection of multiple inverters is an important means to solve the expansion,reserve and protection of distributed power generation,such as photovoltaics.In view of the shortcomings of traditional droop control methods such as weak anti-interference ability,low tracking accuracy of inverter output voltage and serious circulation phenomenon,a finite control set model predictive control(FCS-MPC)strategy of microgrid multiinverter parallel system based on Mixed Logical Dynamical(MLD)modeling is proposed.Firstly,the MLD modeling method is introduced logical variables,combining discrete events and continuous events to form an overall differential equation,which makes the modeling more accurate.Then a predictive controller is designed based on the model,and constraints are added to the objective function,which can not only solve the real-time changes of the control system by online optimization,but also effectively obtain a higher tracking accuracy of the inverter output voltage and lower total harmonic distortion rate(Total Harmonics Distortion,THD);and suppress the circulating current between the inverters,to obtain a good dynamic response.Finally,the simulation is carried out onMATLAB/Simulink to verify the correctness of the model and the rationality of the proposed strategy.This paper aims to provide guidance for the design and optimal control of multi-inverter parallel systems. 展开更多

In this paper, a robust adaptive fuzzy dynamic surface control for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems is proposed. A novel adaptive fuzzy dynamic surface model is built to approximate the uncertain nonlinear functions by only one fuzzy logic system. The approximation capability of this model is proved and the model is implemented to solve the problem that too many approximators are used in the controller design of uncertain nonlinear systems. The shortage of "explosion of complexity" in backstepping design procedure is overcome by using the proposed dynamic surface control method. It is proved by constructing appropriate Lyapunov candidates that all signals of closed-loop systems are semi-globally uniformly ultimate bounded. Also, this novel controller stabilizes the states of uncertain nonlinear systems faster than the adaptive sliding mode controller (SMC). Two simulation examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the control approach proposed in this paper. 展开更多

The feedforward controller provides only coarse control, whereas the feedback controller can generate on-line conditional proposition rule automatically to improve the overall control action. The objective of this paper is to develop of a dynamic vehicle routing system supported by the behavior of urban traffic in the city ofSao Paulo using Neuro Fuzzy Network. The methodology of this paper consists in the capture of relevant events that interfere with the flow of traffic of the city of Sao Paulo and implementation of a Fuzzy Neural Network trained with these events in order to foresee the traffic behavior. The system offers three labels of hierarchical routing, thus is possible to consider not only the basic factors of routing, but too external factors that directly influence on the flow of traffic and the disruption which may be avoided in large cities, through alternative routes (dynamic vehicle routing). Predicting the behavior of traffic represents the strategic level routing, dynamic vehicle routing is the tactical level, and routing algorithms to the operational level. This paper addresses issues related to nonlinear robust output feedback controller design for a nonlinear model of airbreathing hypersonic vehicle. The control objective is to realize robust tracking of velocity and altitude in the presence of immeasurable states, uncertainties and varying flight conditions. A novel reduced order fuzzy observer is proposed to estimate the immeasurable states. Based on the information of observer and the measured states, a new robust output feedback controller combining dynamic surface theory and fuzzy logic system is proposed for airbreathing hypersonic vehicle. The closedloop system is proved to be semi-globally uniformly ultimately bounded (SUUB), and the tracking error can be made small enough by choosing proper gains of the controller, filter and observer. Simulation results from the full nonlinear vehicle model illustrate the effectiveness and good performance of the proposed control scheme. © 2014 Chinese Association of Automation. 展开更多

The concept of sufficient families is also given and we establish that hs (Ф) comes out to be equal to the supremum of hs (Ф,A), where A varies over any sufficient family. The objective of dynamical system learning tasks is to forecast the future behavior of a system by leveraging observed data.However,such systems can sometimes exhibit rigidity due to significant variations in component parameters or the presence of slow and fast variables,leading to challenges in learning.To overcome this limitation,we propose a multiscale differential-algebraic neural network(MDANN)method that utilizes Lagrangian mechanics and incorporates multiscale information for dynamical system learning.The MDANN method consists of two main components:the Lagrangian mechanics module and the multiscale module.The Lagrangian mechanics module embeds the system in Cartesian coordinates,adopts a differential-algebraic equation format,and uses Lagrange multipliers to impose constraints explicitly,simplifying the learning problem.The multiscale module converts high-frequency components into low-frequency components using radial scaling to learn subprocesses with large differences in velocity.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed MDANN method effectively improves the learning of dynamical systems under rigid conditions. 展开更多

On the other hand insertion of series capacitor results in severe subsynchronous torques. The subsynchronous torque leads to generator-turbine shaft damage. Mitigation of subsynchronous transient torques is achieved through resistor bank connected to generator terminals. The insertion of resistor bank is controlled by fuzzy logic controller. The proposed controller has been tested on IEEE First Benchmark Model and it proved to have good damping for the torsional torques. 展开更多

It is difficult to advance an exact developing level index of EDA due to its indicator system’s complexity and disequilibrium. In this paper, a framework of indicators was set to evaluate, monitor and examine the comprehensive level of ecological demonstration area (EDA). Fuzzy logic method was used to develop the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model (FCEM), which could quantitatively reveal the developing degree of EDA. Huiji District of Zhengzhou, Henan Province, one of the 9th group of national EDAs, was taken as a study case. The framework of FCEM for the integrated system included six subsystems, which were social, economic, ecological, rural, urban and accessorial description ones. The research would be valuable in the comprehensive quantitative evaluation of EDA and would work as a guide in the construction practices of Huiji ecological demonstration area. 展开更多

As technology shrinks in modern era the demand on high speed, low power consumption and small chip area in microprocessors is come into existence. In this paper we have presented a new class of domino circuit design for low power consumption, faster circuit speed and high performance. Due to wide fan-in domino logic, its logic gate suffer from noise sensitivity, if we improve sensitivity, sub-threshold and gate oxide leakage current dominate in evaluation network, which increases the power consumption and reduces the performance of the circuit. The proposed circuit improves the dynamic power consumption and reduces the delay which improves the speed of the circuit. Simulation is performed in BISM4 Cadence environment at 65 nm process technology, with supply voltage 1 V at 100 MHz frequency and bottleneck operating temperature of 27&deg;C with CL = 1 fF. From the result average power improvement by proposed circuit 1 & 2 for 8 input OR gate is 10.1%, 15.28% SFLD, 48.56%, 51.49% CKD, 55.17%, 57.71% HSD and improvement of delay is 1.10%, 12.76% SFLD, 19.13%, 28.63% CKD, 4.32%, 15.59% HSD, 19.138%, 44.25% DFD respectively. 展开更多

In this paper, we propose two different source coupled logic structures and analyze the performance of these structures with STSCL (Sub-threshold SCL). The first design under consideration is DTPMOS as load device which analyses the performance of Dynamic Threshold SCL (DTSCL) Logic with previous source coupled logic for ultra low power operation. DTSCL circuits exhibit a better power-delay Performance compared with the STSCL Logic. It can be seen that the proposed circuit provides 56% reduction in power delay product. The second design under consideration uses basic current mirror active load device to provide required voltage swing. Current mirror source coupled logic (CMSCL) can be used for high speed operation. The advantage of this design is that it provides 54% reduction in power delay product over conventional STSCL. The main drawback of this design is that it provides a higher power dissipation compared to other source coupled logic structures. The proposed circuit provides lower sensitivity to temperature and power supply variation, with a superior control over power dissipation. Measurements of test structures simulated in 0.18 μm CMOS technology shows that the proposed DTSCL logic concept can be utilized successfully for bias currents as low as 1 pA. Measurements show that existing standard cell libraries offer a good solution for ultra low power SCL circuits. Cadence Virtuoso schematic editor and Spectre Simulation tools have been used. 展开更多
