The titania gel that contains europium complex exhibits Eu3+ characteristic emission bands and presents a longer fluorescence lifetime than the pure complexes dissolved in ethanol solution. Membrane...In this study sodium alginate (NaAlg)/poly (vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) blend membranes were prepared and crosslinked with CaCl2 (0.1 Molarity (M)) for the separation of aqueous/dimethylformamide (DMF) mixtures. Membranes were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and their performance was examined by varying experimental parameters such as feed composition (0 - 100 wt%), operating temperature (30℃ - 50℃) and membrane thickness (30 - 90 micrometer (μm)). Blending NaAlg with PVP, decreased separation factor whereas increased the permeation rate as the permeation temperature was increased in Vapor Permeation (VP) and Vapor Permeation with Temperature Difference (TDVP) methods. In the TDVP method, the separation factors increased and the permeation rates decreased as the temperature of the membrane surrounding is decreased. The highest separation factor of 60 was obtained in TDVP method for 90 wt% DMF concentration in the feed.展开更多

A dense film of gadolinium with metallic luster was obtained by potentiostatic electrolysis. The transfer coefficient of electrode reaction Gd(Ⅲ)+3e=Gd and the diffusion coefficient of Gd(Ⅲ) were determined as 0.35 and 2.0×10 -7 cm 2s -1 at 25℃ respectively.展开更多

Author’s current objective is to synthesize 8-C-Methylated homoisoflavones by the reaction of 3-C-methylated dihydrochalcones with N,N’-dimethyl (chloromethylene) ammonium chloride generated<em> in situ</em> from DMF and PCl<sub>5</sub> for one carbon extension at about room temperature. The 3-C-methylated dihydrochalcones were synthesized by the reduction of 3-C-methylated chalcones, which were prepared from 3-C-methylated acetophenones and aromatic aldehydes in the presence of base. The variation in dielectric constant was observed as a function of thickness. In this research work multilayers of Hexagonal Boron Nitride (h-BN) was fabricated by using the Chemical exfoliation method. Two solvents Dimethylformamide (DMF) and Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) were used for the exfoliation of h-BN. Successful sonication of hexagonal boron nitride led to the formation of Boron Nitride nanosheets (BNNs). The stable dispersibility of h-BN in Dimethylformamide and Isopropyl Alcohol was confirmed by UV Visible Spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) confirm the mono crystallite structure (002) and nanoflakes like morphology of h-BN respectively. This appropriate strategy offered a feasible route to produce multilayer of hexagonal boron nitride. After the successful fabrication of h-BN multilayers its dielectric properties were calculated by using LCR meter. Profilometer revealed the variation in thickness and value of Dielectric constant was calculated by using its formula.展开更多
