In this work, we present a comparative analysis using different set of discrete orthogonal moments in terms of normalized image reconstruction error (NIRE). Color image reconstruction is performed with different color channels and various orders of different discrete orthogonal moments. Finally the results obtained by the reconstruction of three color images with different families of orthogonal moments and an error analysis to compare their capacity of description are presented, also the conclusions obtained from this work are presented.展开更多

The characteristics of the active discrete systems and active be...The basic concepts about the active structures and some attributes of the modes were presented in paper “Liner Active Structures and Modes]( I) ". The characteristics of the active discrete systems and active beams were discussed, especially, the stability of the active structures and the orthogonality of the eigenvectors. The notes about modes were portrayed by a model of a seven-storeyed building with sensors and actuators. The concept of the adjoint active structure was extended from the discrete systems to the beams that were the representations of the continuous structures. Two types of beams with different placements of the measuring and actuating systems were discussed in detail. One is the beam with the discrete sensors and actuators, and the other is the beam with distributed sensor and actuator function. The orthogonality conditions were derived with the modal shapes of the active beam and its adjoint active beam. An example shows that the variation of eigenvalues with feedback amplitude for the homo-configuration and non-homo-configuration active structures.展开更多

The algorithm uses the variance of an image acquired by a sensor as a focus function. To compute the estimate of the variance we exploit the equivalence between that estimate and the image orthogonal expansion. Energy consumption of three implementations exploiting either of the following fast orthogonal transforms: the discrete cosine, the Walsh-Hadamard, and the Haar wavelet one, is evaluated and compared. Furthermore, it is conjectured that the computation precision can considerably be reduced if the image is heavily corrupted by the noise, and a simple problem of optimal word bit-length selection with respect to the signal variance is analyzed.展开更多

Currently,rotary drilling is one of the main pieces of equipment used for in-situ remediation of contaminated soil.However,this equipment has problems such as uneven mixing and low utilization efficiency,which affect ...Currently,rotary drilling is one of the main pieces of equipment used for in-situ remediation of contaminated soil.However,this equipment has problems such as uneven mixing and low utilization efficiency,which affect the efficiency of in-situ soil remediation.To improve the efficiency of in-situ soil remediation,this paper takes contaminated black soil as the research object,and the structural design of the new three-stage soil remediation auger is carried out based on SolidWorks.The mixing process of soil and heavy metal passivator under different motion and structural parameters was investigated by the discrete element method(DEM)and response surface methodology.The experimental design was based on rotational speed,homogenizing mixing time,crushing section pitch,and homogenizing section pitch as factors,and soil fragmentation ratio,the coefficient of dispersion,and torque as optimization indices.The kinematic and structural parameters of the three-stage auger drill bit were then optimized using the one-factor method,the orthogonal test,and the response surface methodology,respectively.The test method uses a one-way test to determine the central level value of the orthogonal test and a comprehensive balance method to determine the best combination of parameters for the orthogonal test,which is then used as the central value of the response surface test for parameter optimization.The optimal combinations of kinematic and structural parameters of the three-stage auger drill bit are determined and validated using response surface methodology.The optimum combination of parameters was found to be a speed of 129 rpm,a homogenizing mixing time of 24 s,a pitch of 165 mm in the crushing section,and a pitch of 132 mm in the homogenizing section.The error between the optimal value of the predicted model using the response surface method and the actual simulated value under the optimal parameters is 4.2%,4.9%,and 5.3%,respectively.The optimized factor parameters provide a reference for the design of the structural and kinematic parameters of the in-situ homogenization equipment.展开更多
We investigate numerical approximations based on polynomials that are orthogonal with respect to a weighted discrete inner product and develop an algorithm for solving time dependent differential equations.We focus on...We investigate numerical approximations based on polynomials that are orthogonal with respect to a weighted discrete inner product and develop an algorithm for solving time dependent differential equations.We focus on the family of super Gaussian weight functions and derive a criterion for the choice of parameters that provides good accuracy and stability for the time evolution of partial differential equations.Our results show that this approach circumvents the problems related to the Runge phenomenon on equally spaced nodes and provides high accuracy in space.For time stability,small corrections near the ends of the interval are computed using local polynomial interpolation.Several numerical experiments illustrate the performance of the method.展开更多
