Long term thermal aging tests for DD5 single crystal superalloy were carried out at 1,100 ℃ for 20, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 h, and then cooled by air. The effect of long term thermal aging on the dislocation networks at the γ/γ' interfaces was investigated by FE-SEM. Results showed that during the long term thermal aging at 1,100 ℃, misfit dislocations formed firstly and then reorientation in the(001) interfacial planes occurred. Different types of square or rectangular dislocation network form by dislocation reaction. Square dislocation networks consisting of four groups of dislocations can transform into octagonal dislocation networks, and then form another square dislocation network by dislocation reaction. Rectangular dislocation networks can also transform into hexagonal dislocation networks. The interfacial dislocation networks promote the γ' phase rafting process. The dislocation networks spacings become smaller and smaller, leading to the effective lattice misfit increasing from-0.10% to-0.32%.展开更多

It was found that a closed three-dimensional misfit dislocation network appears on the γ/γ' phase interfaces, and the shape of the dislocation network is independent of the lattice mismatch. Under the influence of the temperature, the dislocation network gradually becomes irregular, a/2 [110] dislocations in the γ matrix phase emit and partly cut into the γ' phase with the increase in temperature. The dislocation evolution is related to the local stress field, a peak stress occurs at γ/γ' phase interface, and with the increase in temperature and relaxation times, the stress in the γ phase gradually increases, the number of dislocations in the γ phase increases and cuts into γ' phase from the interfaces where dislocation network is damaged. The results provide important information for understanding the temperature dependence of the dislocation evolution and mechanical properties of Ni-based single-crystal superalloys.展开更多

The results show that the moving matrix dislocation type and its position with respect to the interfacial misfit dislocation segments have considerable influences on the interactions. If the moving matrix dislocation is pure screw, it reacts with the interracial misfit dislocation segments toward dislocation linear energy reduction, which decreases the critical bowing stress of screw dislocation due to dislocation linear energy release during the dislocation reactions. If the moving matrix dislocation is of 60^-mixed type, it is obstructed by the interaction between the mixed matrix dislocations and the misfit interfacial dislocation segments. As a result, the critical bowing stress increases significantly because extra interactive energy needs to be overcome. These two different effects on the critical bowing stress become in- creasingly significant when the moving matrix dislocation is very close to the interracial misfit dislocation segments. In addition, the matrix channel width also has a significant influence on the critical bowing stress, i.e. the narrower the matrix channel is, the higher the critical bowing stress is. The classical Orowan formula is modified to predict these effects on the critical bowing stress of moving matrix dislocation, which is in good agreement with the computational results.展开更多

By virtue of the Stroh formalism and Fourier transformation, the final expression of solutions in the physical domain contains only line integrals over [0, 2π] rather than infinite integrals. As the reduced cases, the half-space and homogeneous full-space solutions can be directly derived from the present solutions. Also, in terms of material domains, the present solutions can be reduced to the piezoelectric, piezomagnetic, purely elastic materials with different symmetries of material prop- erty. To carry out numerical calculations, Gauss quadrature is adopted. In the numerical examples, the effect of different loading locations on the response at the interface is analyzed. It is shown that, when the magnetic traction or electric dislocation is applied, the physical quantities on the interface may not decrease monotonically as the loading area moves away from the interface. The distributions of different in-plane physical quantities on the upper and lower interfaces under various extended horizontal loadings are compared and the differences are discussed. The work presented in this paper can serve as benchmarks for future numerical studies in related research fields.展开更多

From the observed vertical deformations and using a rectangular uniform slip model in a homogeneous elastic half space, we first employ genetic algorithms (GA) to infer the approximate global optimal solution, and further use least squares method to get more accurate global optimal solution by taking the approximate solution of GA as the initial parameters of least squares. The inversion results show that the causative fault of Gonghe Ms=7.0 earthquake is a right-lateral reverse fault with strike NW60°, dip SW and dip angle 37°, the coseismic fracture length, width and slip are 37 km, 6 km and 2.7 m respectively. Combination of GA and least squares algorithms is an effective joint inversion method, which could not only escape from local optimum of least squares, but also solve the slow convergence problem of GA after reaching adjacency of global optimal solution.展开更多

Enriching the methods for fabricating MSL and realizing the unique emergent properties are key challenges in its investigation. Here we recommend that the spiral dislocation driven growth is another optional method for the preparation of high quality MSL samples. The spiral structure stabilizes the constant out-of-plane lattice distance, causing the variations in electronic and optical properties. Taking SnS_(2) MSL as an example, we find prominent properties including large band gap reduction(~ 0.4 e V) and enhanced optical activity. Firstprinciples calculations reveal that these unusual properties can be ascribed to the locally enhanced interlayer interaction associated with the Moiré potential modulation. We believe that the spiral dislocation driven growth would be a powerful method to expand the MSL family and broaden their scope of application.展开更多

The work presented in this paper can serve as benchmarks for future numerical studies in related research fields.
文摘The Second Crustal Deformation Monitoring Center, China Seismological Bureau, has detected a marked uplift associated with the Gonghe Ms=7.0 earthquake on April 26, 1990, Qinghai Province. Combination of GA and least squares algorithms is an effective joint inversion method, which could not only escape from local optimum of least squares, but also solve the slow convergence problem of GA after reaching adjacency of global optimal solution.

文摘The creep strain of conventionally treated 2195 alloy is very low, increasing the difficulty of manufacturing Al-Cu-Li alloy sheet parts by creep age forming. Therefore, finding a solution to improve the creep formability of Al-Cu-Li alloy is vital.A thorough comparison of the effects of cryo-deformation and ambient temperature large pre-deformation(LPD)on the creep ageing response in the 2195 alloy sheet at 160℃with different stresses has been made. The evolution of dislocations and precipitates during creep ageing of LPD alloys are revealed by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy.High-quality 2195 alloy sheet largely pre-deformed by 80%without edge-cracking is obtained by cryo-rolling at liquid nitrogen temperature, while severe edge-cracking occurs during room temperature rolling. The creep formability and strength of the 2195 alloy are both enhanced by introducing pre-existing dislocations with a density over 1.4×10^(15)m^(−2).At 160℃and 150 MPa,creep strain and creep-aged strength generally increases by 4−6 times and 30−50 MPa in the LPD sample, respectively, compared to conventional T3 alloy counterpart. The elongation of creep-aged LPD sample is low but remains relevant for application. The high-density dislocations, though existing in the form of dislocation tangles, promote the formation of refined T1 precipitates with a uniform dispersion.

文摘Shearing dislocation is a common failure type for rock–backfill interfaces because of backfill sedimentation and rock strata movement in backfill mining goaf. This paper designed a test method for rock–backfill shearing dislocation.Using digital image techno-logy and three-dimensional(3D)laser morphology scanning techniques,a set of 3D models with rough joint surfaces was established.Further, the mechanical behavior of rock–backfill shearing dislocation was investigated using a direct shear test. The effects of interface roughness on the shear–displacement curve and failure characteristics of rock–backfill specimens were considered. The 3D fractal dimen-sion,profile line joint roughness coefficient(JRC),profile line two-dimensional fractal dimension, and the surface curvature of the frac-tures were obtained. The correlation characterization of surface roughness was then analyzed, and the shear strength could be measured and calculated using JRC.The results showed the following:there were three failure threshold value points in rock–backfill shearing dis-location:30%–50%displacement before the peak,70%–90%displacement before the peak, and 100%displacement before the peak to post-peak,which could be a sign for rock–backfill shearing dislocation failure. The surface JRC could be used to judge the rock–backfill shearing dislocation failure, including post-peak sliding, uniform variations, and gradient change, corresponding to rock–backfill disloca-tion failure on the field site. The research reveals the damage mechanism for rock–backfill complexes based on the free joint surface, fills the gap of existing shearing theoretical systems for isomerism complexes, and provides a theoretical basis for the prevention and control of possible disasters in backfill mining.

文摘The evolution of dislocation loops in austenitic steels irradiated with Fe^(+)is investigated using cluster dynamics(CD)simulations by developing a CD model. The CD predictions are compared with experimental results in the literature. The number density and average diameter of the dislocation loops obtained from the CD simulations are in good agreement with the experimental data obtained from transmission electron microscopy(TEM)observations of Fe~+-irradiated Solution Annealed 304,Cold Worked 316,and HR3 austenitic steels in the literature. The CD simulation results demonstrate that the diffusion of in-cascade interstitial clusters plays a major role in the dislocation loop density and dislocation loop growth;in particular, for the HR3 austenitic steel, the CD model has verified the effect of temperature on the density and size of the dislocation loops.

文摘Moiré superlattices(MSLs) are modulated structures produced from homogeneous or heterogeneous two-dimensional layers stacked with a twist angle and/or lattice mismatch. We believe that the spiral dislocation driven growth would be a powerful method to expand the MSL family and broaden their scope of application.

文摘Stacking faults(SFs)and the interaction between solute atoms and SFs in a Mg–Bi alloy are investigated using aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy. It is found that abundant I_(1)SFs are generated after cold rolling and are mainly distributed inside{1012}twins.After aging treatment, the formation of single-layer and three-layer Bi atom segregation in the vicinity of I_(1)fault are clearly observed.Bi segregation also occurs at the 1/6<2203>bounding Frank partial dislocation cores. The segregation behaviors in I_(1)fault and Frank dislocations are discussed and rationalized using first-principles calculations.

文摘Discrete dislocation dynamics(DDD)simulations reveal the evolution of dislocation structures and the interaction of dislocations. This study investigated the compression behavior of single-crystal copper micropillars using fewshot machine learning with data provided by DDD simulations. Two types of features are considered:external features comprising specimen size and loading orientation and internal features involving dislocation source length,Schmid factor, the orientation of the most easily activated dislocations and their distance from the free boundary. The yielding stress and stress-strain curves of single-crystal copper micropillar are predicted well by incorporating both external and internal features of the sample as separate or combined inputs. It is found that the machine learning accuracy predictions for single-crystal micropillar compression can be improved by incorporating easily activated dislocation features with external features. However, the effect of easily activated dislocation on yielding is less important compared to the effects of specimen size and Schmid factor which includes information of orientation but becomes more evident in small-sized micropillars.Overall, incorporating internal features, especially the information of most easily activated dislocations, improves predictive capabilities across diverse sample sizes and orientations.
