Methods The fasting body weight and height of the third and fourth grade students (n=3886, aged 9 or 10 years) from 20 schools in Beijing, China, were measured, and the students were asked to choose the figures of body image and to complete the self-reported children's depression inventory (CDI) questionnaire. Results The CDI Cronbach's alpha was 0.81. The total CDI score was 9.60±7.50, 13.2% of children (boys 16.7% vs girls 9.5%) were at risk of developing depression symptoms. Overweight girls, but not boys, had significantly higher total CDI score than their normal weight counteparts. Both obese girls and boys showed a higher negative self-esteem score. More than one fifth underweight girls still wanted to be thinner while more than one third obese boys still wanted to be heavier. Children who wanted to be thinner showed slightly higher scores of ineffectiveness and negative self-esteem. After introducing the body dissatisfaction into the model, overweight was still associated with total CDI score among girls and obesity was still associated with negative self-esteem among both boys and girls. Conclusion Overweight girls show a significantly higher depression symptom score than their normal weight counterparts, which maybe partially explained by body dissatisfaction. Obese boys and girls are both more likely to suffer from low self-esteem, which is partially explained by body dissatisfaction.展开更多

Their body height, weight, and waistline were effectively measured, and they were also evaluated to assess their body dissatisfaction, perception of dietary behaviors, and DBCWL. The correlation among these factors was analyzed using mediating effect models. Results The prevalence of overweight/obesity and abdominal obesity was significantly higher in males than in females(P < 0.05). Overweight/obesity, abdominal obesity, and body dissatisfaction significantly increased the risk for DBCWL(OR = 2.57, 2.77, and 1.95, respectively). Overweight/obesity and abdominal obesity significantly increased the risk for body dissatisfaction(OR = 6.00 and 4.70,respectively). Significant mediating effects of body dissatisfaction were observed in correlation between overweight/obesity and DBCWL and between abdominal obesity and DBCWL(OR = 2.20 and 1.92,respectively;P < 0.05), and the proportions of mediating effects among the total effects were 48.89% and 46.60%, respectively. Conclusion Body dissatisfaction might play an important mediating effect in association between DBCWL and obesity, which indicates that guiding children to correctly recognize their body might be more conducive than promoting obese children toward weight loss through dietary behavior changes.展开更多

However, the documentation of internal and external environmental impacts on the employees is poor. Our objective was to study workers’ origin of dissatisfaction from the negative impact of Fludor Benin SA internal and external environment. Population and methods: It was a cross-sectional study, conducted from 11th September 2013 to 08th January 2014, on Fludor Benin SA employees. Data collection was carried out over ten (10) sessions through administration of Focus Group Discussion modules coupled with psychodrama (FGD-psychodrama) and conducted fortnightly. The module was intended for a group of twelve employees per session. It lasted 2 hours and ended with a game comprising a set of sixteen (16) cards. Each participant’s 16-card deck allowed the “player” to identify the likely origin of his dissatisfaction at work. Results: One hundred and twenty (120) employees were expected, but only ninety-nine (99) had participated in the FGD-psychodrama. The rate of participation was 82.5%. The average age of the employees was 35.4 ± 7.4 years, while sex-ratio was 23.75. Average seniority was 9.3 ± 3.2 years. The employees’ robot profile was: 39 (39.39%) passive employees, 18 (18.19%) disappointed employees, 17 (17.17%) unmotivated employees, 14 (14.14%) dedicated to the company but barely recognized and 11 (11.11%) unhappy employees. The reasons for dissatisfaction originated from matrimonial home 25 (25.25%), workplace 23 (23.23%) and use of drugs 11 (11.11%). Seventy-seven 77 (77.78%) employees were satisfied with the FGD-psychodrama modules. Conclusion: FGD-psychodrama may be an effective tool to restore unhealthy corporate atmosphere, help employees to discern the origin of their dissatisfaction and change their perception about stressful situations prevailing in their workplace.展开更多

The aims of this study were to elucidate the connection among body image disturbance and dissatisfaction, scorn and stigma in severely obese individuals using a case-control method. Method: The study group consisted of 112 individuals receiving permanent disability pensions primarily for obesity. The controls were selected by random sampling. The controls were matched with the subjects by place of residence, gender, age, the time since the pension was granted and occupation. Psychiatric interviews and psychological assessments were conducted with all participants. The results were analyzed via chi-squared tests (χ2-tests) and percent distributions. The subject and control groups were compared via paired t-tests. Conditional logistic regression analysis was also conducted. Results: In the Draw a Person test, we found disorganization of the body image to some degree in the subject group. Some significant differences were found between the Machover index and the wholeness index. The Rorschach variables obtained some differences in the responses between the subject and control groups. Obesity was a problem in all age groups. In the study group, half of the participants thought that they were obese. Most of the participants had endured scorn and contempt directed at them due to being overweight. Conclusions: We believe that our study provides a novel and necessary overview of the connection among body image disturbance and dissatisfaction, scorn and stigma.展开更多

Because this thin ideal is so weU-documented, there has been an interest in examining the effects of those portrayals on media consumers. Results from experimental studies suggest that the media can play an important role in causing body dissatisfaction among women. This research looks to build upon prior studies by exploring the role of familiarity with the mediated image in causing body dissatisfaction. Results suggest that in line with prior research, unfamiliar images of skinny women and moderately overweight women influenced women so that they felt worse about themselves. A similar result was obtained with familiar images of skinny celebrities. Familiar images of overweight celebrities, though, did not cause body dissatisfaction. A group of decision-makers (DMs) first independently assess bidding plans according to their experience and preferences, and these assessments may be expressed as linguistic terms, which are then converted to fuzzy numbers. The resulting decision matrices are then transformed to objective membership grade matrices. The lower bound of satisfaction and upper bound of dissatisfaction are used to determine each bidding plan’s supporting, opposing, and neutral objective sets, which together determine the vague value of a bidding plan. Finally, a score function is employed to rank all bidding plans. A new score function based on vague sets is introduced in the model and a novel method is presented for calculating the lower bound of sat- isfaction and upper bound of dissatisfaction. In a vague-set-based fuzzy multi-objective decision making model, different valua- tions for upper and lower bounds of satisfaction usually lead to distinct ranking results. Therefore, it is crucial to effectively contain DMs’ arbitrariness and subjectivity when these values are determined.展开更多

Efficient operation of the public transport is a key factor for the improvement of living condition in Dhaka city. Transport service performance should be assessed from the passengers’ perspectives to evaluate these perceptions in transportation planning. The exploration of service quality of bus is essential in order to provide a better service in future. The objective of this research is to access overall customer satisfaction in public bus transport of Dhaka city. A questionnaire survey was conducted in five locations in Dhaka city. Bus users’ satisfaction was analyzed by discrete choice logit model towards quality, reliability, safety and security and service provided by buses functioning in Dhaka city. The result indicated that more than half of the respondents believed that the present condition of bus service is not satisfactory. In case of the quality of buses, people think that the body and sitting arrangement of the buses are uncomfortable. Regarding the safety and security condition, main three reasons of dissatisfaction of passengers’ are unsafe driving practices, poor boarding and alighting facilities and lack of law enforcing agencies surveillance. Reasons which make the service unsatisfactory include irregular service provided by buses, regular overcrowding, lack of good standard buses and lack of cleanliness. In spite of these negative views, users’ possessed a positive attitude for buses which is the low travel cost.展开更多

Aim: The aim of the present study was to examine these psychological features among Italian patients who underwent aesthetic plastic surgery, testing the mediating role of the mass media influence on the relationship between them and the choice of aesthetic plastic surgery. The Personality Diagnostic Questionnaire 4+ (PDQ-4+) and the Body Uneasiness Test (BUT) were administered to patients who underwent aesthetic plastic surgery (N = 111) and participants who had no history of aesthetic plastic surgical procedures (N = 149). Results: Results showed that aesthetic patients reported higher indexes of body image disturbance than controls. No significant differences between aesthetic participants and controls were found in all three cluster B personality disorders. Moreover, the effect of body image dissatisfaction on the choice to undergo aesthetic plastic surgery was partially mediated by the influence of mass media. Conclusions: In conclusion, the present study confirmed the importance of body dissatisfaction as a predictor of the choice to undergo aesthetic surgery and highlighted the influence of media messages regarding physical appearance.展开更多

The objectives of the research were to ascertain the categories of service failures commonly experienced by guests and assess guests' level of dissatisfaction with the service failures. Descriptive survey design using critical incident questionnaires (CIQ) was used to collect data from a purposive sample of 174 guests who experienced service failures in ten 3- to 5-star hotels. The data were analyzed using SPSS. The most dominant service failures experienced by guests were service system failures, such as unavailable/irregular service and defective products, occurring mostly in the housekeeping departments. With the revelation of potential service failures experienced by guests and their effect on guests, this study offers suggestions to managers to revamp some policies to curtail some service failures and improve service delivery. This study contributes to the literature on service failure in the context of a developing country.展开更多

The naevus is perceived by the patient to be disfiguring. Such perception leads to maladaptive behaviours and is often associated with low mood, as well as high levels of anxiety and social avoidance. Affected individuals form a diverse group. However, what they have in common is that the distress experienced is disproportionate to the objective visual appearance of the mole. There is a range of severity of the impact on the individual's well being. Naevus dysmorphia may or may not be a cutaneous manifestation of body dysmorphic disorder(BDD). It is essential that patients with naevus dysmorphia are identified and distinguished from patients requesting removal of a mole for other uncomplicated cosmetic reason. Patients with naevus dysmorphia can be challenging to treat and communicate with. Surgical excision of the naevus will not address the underlying psychopathology and so it may not result in long-term positive outcome. Ideally, a detailed psychological assessment and formulation can be made potential y followed by psychological therapy tailored to the needs of the individual. A therapeutic trial of appropriate psychopharmacological course may be indicated in certain cases, e.g., when symptoms of a depressive disorder, anxiety disorder or BDD are present. A case series of 10 patients with naevus dysmorphia is presented, in order to highlight the above issues.展开更多

文摘Background:Body image dissatisfaction(BID)has garnered global attention. It is significantly correlated with the development of depression, anxiety, eating disorders(EDs)and low self-esteem.BID is increasingly common among adolescents and young women in China, whereas it lacks the effective treatment and prevention programs for BID.Objective:This paper expects to analyze the effective CAMs methods on improving BID,and based on the results,we put forward a feasible and effective study protocol to fill the gap of BID improvement among teenage girls.Methods:Fifty-two studies of CAM in 2015-2020 years in influencing body image and its correlates are col-lected and analyzed, and a study protocol combined“In Favor of Myself”is sent up.This study protocol adds praise, psychological counselling, nutrition education and yoga to the project“In Favor of Myself”,improving BID through group support, shifting attention from focusing on one’s physical appearance to enhancing one’s value, and alleviating pressure and emotions through yoga. Results:Many methods, such as fitness training, psychoeducation, nutritional therapy, music therapy, health promotion programs and internet-based interventions are considered the existing interventions to improve BID.Other CAMs,such as acupuncture, beauty care,Tai chi,and aromatherapy, could be tried in the improvement of BID in further studies. Conclusion:CAM is capable of subjectively changing feelings of bodies, adjusting their cognition of body image, enhancing the body-mind connection, improving self-esteem and relieving negative emotions, but the efficacy and mechanism of CAM working on BID still need more systematic and standardized research.

文摘A vague-set-based fuzzy multi-objective decision making model is developed for evaluating bidding plans in a bid- ding purchase process. Therefore, it is crucial to effectively contain DMs’ arbitrariness and subjectivity when these values are determined.
文摘From the view of both objective and subjective factors, the indoor air quality(IAQ)evaluation was considered.Carbon dioxide(CO2)and formaldehyde(HCHO)were selected as the typical contaminants of indoor air,and the evaluation method of logarithmic index was adopted as the evaluation means of IAQ.Then the recommended limits(RL)of typical contaminants CO2 and HCHO were given through analysis and calculation. The limits of CO2 and HCHO in Indoor Air Quality Standard of China or other existing standards probably correspond to the level of PD=25(%).The result shows that the existing standards fail to meet the requirement of the definition of "acceptable indoor air quality",that is to say, less than 20% of the people express dissatisfaction. When PD=20%,RL of CO2 and HCHO are 728×10-6 and 0.068×10-6 respectively, which are stricter than the limits in the existing standards. The method proposed in this paper is applicable to 13.1%≤PD≤86.7%.
文摘Bus systems provide a versatile form of public transportation with the flexibility to serve a variety of access needs throughout an urban area. In spite of these negative views, users’ possessed a positive attitude for buses which is the low travel cost.
文摘Social media ingrain in the lives of countless individuals in the world. With adolescents, particularly young women being the primary users of social media platforms, the question is whether social media use has an impact on their self-esteem,body dissatisfaction, body image, and self-concept.In social media, people can easily find many“perfect”body photos, and people in real life tend to believe that is the“ideal”body and develop negative influence and views on their own body. This exploratory study will conduct through the hypothesis that women develop negative body image after viewing the perfect body images promoted by social media with further experiments.

文摘In this paper, a Hierarchical Cellular System (HCS) supporting two classes of users with high and low velocity is considered. Based on the analytical model of the bidirectional calloverflow scheme, a new dynamic guard channel assignment method is proposed In this method, the number of guard channels in both macrocells and microcells varies in realtime according to the different call traffic load in the HCS, and as a result, the lowest dissatisfaction grade of users is achieved.
文摘Introduction: The amount of research on the relationship between plastic surgery and psychological features, such as personality disorders and indexes of body image dissatisfaction, has increased significantly in the last years. Conclusions: In conclusion, the present study confirmed the importance of body dissatisfaction as a predictor of the choice to undergo aesthetic surgery and highlighted the influence of media messages regarding physical appearance.
文摘This paper examines service failures in 3- to 5-star hotels in the Accra Metropolis in Ghana. This study contributes to the literature on service failure in the context of a developing country.
文摘Naevus dysmorphia is a form of appearance concern/body image dissatisfaction, which describes a preoccupation withthe appearance of a clinically small melanocytic naevus. A case series of 10 patients with naevus dysmorphia is presented, in order to highlight the above issues.
文摘Purposes:This study explores the impact of the influence mechanism of social media on female college students’body dissatisfaction in China and the neglected factors which are not involved in the dominating theoretical framework in this field. Methods:The study adopts a qualitative,in-depth interview method.Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 25 female college students who were concerned about their weight and figures in an attempt to understand their social media use and their perceptions of their body shapes.Findings:Internalization of the thin-ideal,perceived discrepancy, and appearance comparison moderate the relationship between social media use and female college students’body dissatisfaction.Participants exposed to social media tend to internalize the thin-ideal,perceive a discrepancy between their actual body shape and the thin-ideal,and make appearance comparisons, particularly with their peers;subsequently, these students experience body dissatisfaction. Conclusions:The ideal image of thinness that is promoted and diffused by social media creates a strict standard for females.Female college students are likely to suffer from body dissatisfaction the more they consume certain types of social media.Due to the interactive and virtual quality of social networking platforms, peers play a unique role in the influence mechanism, which is not present in traditional forms of mass media.

文摘Large-scale new energy pressures on the grids bring challenges to power system's security and stability. In order to optimize the user's electricity consumption behavior and ease pressure, which is caused by new energy on the grid, this paper proposes a time-of-use price model that takes wind power uncertainty into account.First, the interval prediction method is used to predict wind power. Then typical wind power scenes are selected by random sampling and bisecting the K-means algorithm. On this basis, integer programming is used to divide the peak-valley period of the multi-scenes load. Finally, under the condition of many factors such as user response based on consumer psychology, user electricity charge and power consumption, this paper takes the peak-valley difference of equivalent net load and the user dissatisfaction degree as the goal, and using the NSGA-II multi-objective optimization algorithm, evaluates the Pareto solution set to obtain the optimal solution. In order to test the validity of the model proposed in this paper,we apply it to an industrial user and wind farms in Yan'an city,China. The results show that the model can effectively ensure the user's electrical comfort while achieving the role of peak shaving and valley flling.
文摘COVID-19 pandemic has had different effects on election participation.Participation in the parliamentary(2020)and presidential(2021)elections under the pandemic has declined significantly compared to the last four decades.Contrary to popular belief, the findings show that this declined has been caused by causal conditions(economic downturn and government’s inefficiency),contextual conditions(economic war and sanctions),and interventional conditions, and COVID-19 pandemic has played an only contextual role.Prior to the COVID19 pandemic,Iranians were dissatisfied with the current situation, mainly internal rather than external, due to the disruption of the economy and living conditions. Therefore, election participation during the pandemic was a good opportunity to show the magnitude of the dissatisfaction. It can be said that the role of economic factors and the government’s inefficiency in discouraging election participation in Iran has been more than political, social, and health factors.
