The temperature, current density and plasma vel... Aimed at plasma arc welding, a mathematic model was established according to the theory of magnetic fluid dyaamics. The model was numerically analyzed by ANSYS software. The temperature, current density and plasma velocity distributions of normal arc had been simulated and compared with those of double arc. The results show that the appearance of double arc has made the temperature of the nozzle rise up to 5 000 K. The appearance of side arc could make the current density of the main arc decrease, and also make the maximal temperature of the arc reduce. 展开更多

A series of conclusions areobtained: ①With the increasing in the values of gear width, the dynamic load factor appears slowdecreasing tendency in most region of gear width. ②When the accuracy grades of the gearing areimproved, the values of dynamic load factor decrease. ③The value of dynamic load factor appears adecreasing tendency with the increasing of value of helix angle at the same ratio of criticalrotational speed. 展开更多

Wire arc additive manufacturing(WAAM)has been investigated to deposit large-scale metal parts due to its high deposition efficiency and low material cost.However,in the process of automatically manufacturing the high-quality metal parts by WAAM,several problems about the heat build-up,the deposit-path optimization,and the stability of the process parameters need to be well addressed.To overcome these issues,a new WAAM method based on the double electrode micro plasma arc welding(DE-MPAW)was designed.The circuit principles of different metal-transfer models in the DE-MPAW deposition process were analyzed theoretically.The effects between the parameters,wire feed rate and torch stand-off distance,in the process of WAAM were investigated experimentally.In addition,a real-time DE-MPAW control system was developed to optimize and stabilize the deposition process by self-adaptively changing the wire feed rate and torch stand-off distance.Finally,a series of tests were performed to evaluate the control system’s performance.The results show that the capability against interferences in the process of WAAM has been enhanced by this self-adaptive adjustment system.Further,the deposition paths about the metal part’s layer heights in WAAM are simplified.Finally,the appearance of the WAAM-deposited metal layers is also improved with the use of the control system. 展开更多

Experimental results show that these gears have high loadcarrying capacity and that they are suitable for heavily loaded transmission. Joining of aluminum to steel has attracted significant attention from the welding research community,automotive and rail transportation industries.Many current welding methods have been developed and applied,however,they can not precisely control the heat input to work-piece,they are high costs,low efficiency and consist lots of complex welding devices,and the generated intermetallic compound layer in weld bead interface is thicker.A novel pulsed double electrode gas metal arc welding(Pulsed DE-GMAW)method is developed.To achieve a stable welding process for joining of aluminum to steel,a mathematical model of coupled arc is established,and a new control scheme that uses the average feedback arc voltage of main loop to adjust the wire feed speed to control coupled arc length is proposed and developed.Then,the impulse control simulation of coupled arc length,wire feed speed and wire extension is conducted to demonstrate the mathematical model and predict the stability of welding process by changing the distance of contact tip to work-piece(CTWD).To prove the proposed PSO based PID control scheme’s feasibility,the rapid prototyping experimental system is setup and the bead-on-plate control experiments are conducted to join aluminum to steel.The impulse control simulation shows that the established model can accurately represent the variation of coupled arc length,wire feed speed and the average main arc voltage when the welding process is disturbed,and the developed controller has a faster response and adjustment,only runs about 0.1 s.The captured electric signals show the main arc voltage gradually closes to the supposed arc voltage by adjusting the wire feed speed in 0.8 s.The obtained typical current waveform demonstrates that the main current can be reduced by controlling the bypass current under maintaining a relative large total current.The control experiment proves the accuracy of proposed model and feasibility of new control scheme further.The beautiful and smooth weld beads are also obtained by this method.Pulsed DE-GMAW can thus be considered as an alternative method for low cost,high efficiency joining of aluminum to steel. 展开更多

The action of the composite heat source model in DE-GMAW has been carried out according to the characteristics of the DE-GMA W process, and the distribution of surface and body heat source was analyzed. The weld temperature field distribution has been derived from the appropriate boundary conditions and the thermal physical property parameters by COMSOL software. The effects of the positions of the surface and body heat source on the cross- sectional shape were investigated by studying the experimental welding thermal cycle curve. The simulated results are fully compliant with the experimental data under the same conditions. This illustrates that the composite heat source model is correct. It reflects the thermal mechanism of DE-GMA W process, and reveals the internal influence of weld shaping. 展开更多

Myanmar-Andaman-Sumatra Subduction Margin Revisited:Insights of Arc-Specific Deformations 被引量:4

We address the role of the concave and convex arcs (as observed from the subducting plate) on the deformation occurring along the Myanmar-Andaman-Sumatra margin. We categorize the pre- and post-seismic deformations of the lithosphere using earthquake database occurring either prior to 26th December 2004 Mw 9.3 off-Sumatra mega-event or after the incidence. Analysis under pre-seismic domain shows that area near Sumatra records highest seismicity, which largely drops in the area past the North Andaman, and further increases towards north. Shallowest depth and mini- mum dip of the subducting lithosphere is recorded at the central segment where the arc transformed into concave shape. The annual moment energy release during earthquake decreases to more than two orders of magnitude past the North Andaman towards north under post-seismic deformation phase. Higher depths of continuity of events are presumably associated with more dipping Benioff zones in both the Indo-Myanmar and Andaman-Nicobar convex arcs. These observations obviously account for tectonic subdivision of the margin near concave shape arc around the central part. Absence of vol- canism, presence of splay faults in the back-arc, sharp reduction in seismicity near central segment are interpreted to be caused by major tectonic impact of the NNE-ward converging buoyant Ninety-east Ridge against the Asian Plate. Shallowest dip, small elastic thickness, weak converging Indian litho- sphere, and evidences of series of en-echelon blocks off the eastern side of the broken northern Ninety- east Ridge might be incapable of generating great earthquake in this area. 展开更多
