The main goal of this article is to introduce the paranormed sequence spaces L∞(B,p), c(B,p), and co(B,p), which are more general and comprehensive than the corresponding consequences of the matrix domain of B(r, s), as well as other studies in literature. Besides this, the alpha-, beta-, and gamma-duals of the spaces L∞ (B, p), c(B, p), and co (B, p) are computed and the bases of the spaces c(B, p) and co (B, p) are constructed. The final section of this article is devoted to the characterization of the classes (λ(B, p): μ) and (μ:λ(B, p)), where λ ∈ {c, co, L∞ } and μ is any given sequence space. Additionally, the characterization of some other classes which are related to the space of Mmost convergent sequences is obtained by means of a given lemma.展开更多
Amongst the many known techniques used for the management of fractures of the patella, the tension band wire fixation is a reliable treatment modality and has given consistently good results. In transverse patellar fr...Amongst the many known techniques used for the management of fractures of the patella, the tension band wire fixation is a reliable treatment modality and has given consistently good results. In transverse patellar fractures, a combination of cerclage wiring and tension band fixation gives a good mechanical stability and an environment conducive to healing. The fracture described herein is classified as 45-C1 (based on Orthopaedic Trauma Association classification) of the right knee of a forty three years old male patient. It was fixed with three vertical 1.5 mm K wires and double cerclage wire looped proximally through the quadriceps tendon and distally through the patellar ligament in a double figure-of-eight configuration. The average follow-up period was 7 months. The Activity of Daily Living Scale (ADLS) of the Knee Outcome Survey was used to assess symptoms and functional capability of the knee. The fracture union was achieved at an average of 10 weeks. Full range of knee motion was achieved by end of the third postoperative month. No complications, such as infection and implant failure were noted. The technique aims to stress the advantage of giving a balanced fixation addressing the bony elements (the fractured ends) as well as the soft tissue (the extensor apparatus).展开更多
A parallel-coupled double quantum dot (PCDQD) system with two multi-quantum dot chains is designed. If ...A parallel-coupled double quantum dot (PCDQD) system with two multi-quantum dot chains is designed. Conductance versus Fermi energy level is investigated utilizing the non-equilibrium Green's function approach. If two quantum dots are added on each side of the PCDQD system, additional Breit Wigner and Fano resonances occur in the conductance spectra. If quantum dots are added on one side of the system, small Fano resonances can be observed in the conductance spectra. Adjusting the number of side-coupled quantum dots, the anti-resonance bands emerge at different positions, which makes the system applicable as a quantum switching device. Moreover, the I-V characteristic curve presents the step characteristic and the width of the step decreases with increasing the number of side-coupled quantum dots.展开更多
ZnTi-layered double hydroxides(LDHs) with varying Zn/Ti ratio have been synthesized by coprecipitation of zinc and titanium salts from homogeneous solution.The obtained ZnTi-LDHs possess high crystallinity and hiera...ZnTi-layered double hydroxides(LDHs) with varying Zn/Ti ratio have been synthesized by coprecipitation of zinc and titanium salts from homogeneous solution.The obtained ZnTi-LDHs possess high crystallinity and hierarchical structure with improved UV-absorbance property.The UV-vis spectra show that the UV absorbing properties of ZnTi-LDHs is stronger and broader than both MgAl-LDH and ZnAl-LDH due to the existence of Ti.Moreover,the UV absorption property increased with the content of Ti,which can be ascribed to the decrease in the band gap energy,as clearly confirmed by density functional theory calculations.When irradiated by UV rays,the property of the samples with generated free radicals(OH^·and O2^·) was evaluated by means of electron spin resonance(EPR).ZnTi-LDHs generated a relatively lower active radicals in contrast with TiO2 and ZnO,which implied an increased safety used as sunscreens.Therefore,this work provides a detailed understanding of UV shielding properties of ZnTiLDHs which was unrevealed previously,and demonstrates the expansive application prospects of ZnTiLDHs in the field of sunscreens.展开更多
