Low frequency noise has been investigated at room temperature for asymmetric double barrier magnetic tunnel junctions(DBMTJs), where the coupling between the top and middle CoFeB layers is antiferromagnetic with a 0.8-nm thin top Mg O barrier of the CoFeB/MgO/CoFe/CoFeB/MgO/CoFe B DBMTJ. At enough large bias, 1/f noise dominates the voltage noise power spectra in the low frequency region, and is conventionally characterized by the Hooge parameter αmag.With increasing external field, the top and bottom ferromagnetic layers are aligned by the field, and then the middle free layer rotates from antiparallel state(antiferromagnetic coupling between top and middle ferromagnetic layers) to parallel state. In this rotation process αmag and magnetoresistance-sensitivity-product show a linear dependence, consistent with the fluctuation dissipation relation. With the magnetic field applied at different angles(θ) to the easy axis of the free layer,the linear dependence persists while the intercept of the linear fit satisfies a cos(θ) dependence, similar to that for the magnetoresistance, suggesting intrinsic relation between magnetic losses and magnetoresistance. 展开更多

Dielectric barrier discharge(DBD)has been extensively investigated in the fields of environment and energy,whereas its practical implementation is still limited due to its unsatisfactory energy efficiency.In order to improve the energy efficiency of DBD,a novel double dielectric barrier discharge(NDDBD)reactor with high field emission and secondary electron emission was developed and compared with traditional DDBD(TDDBD)configuration.Firstly,the discharge characteristics of the two DDBD reactors were analyzed.Compared to TDDBD,the NDDBD reactor exhibited much stronger discharge intensity,higher transferred charge,dissipated power and gas temperature due to the effective utilization of cathode field emission and secondary electron emission.Subsequently,toluene abatement performance of the two reactors was evaluated.The toluene decomposition efficiency and mineralization rate of NDDBD were much higher than that of TDDBD,which were 86.44%-100%versus 28.17%-80.48%and 17.16%-43.42%versus 7.17%-16.44%at 2.17-15.12 W and 1.24-4.90 W respectively.NDDBD also exhibited higher energy yield than TDDBD,whereas the overall energy constant k_(overall)of the two reactors were similar.Finally,plausible toluene decomposition pathway in TDDBD and NDDBD was suggested based on organic intermediates that generated from toluene degradation.The finding of this study is expected to provide reference for the design and optimization of DBD reactor for volatile organic compounds control and other applications. 展开更多

Motivated by recent advances made in the study of dividend control and risk management problems involving the U.S.bankruptcy code,in this paper we follow[44]to revisit the De Finetti dividend control problem under the reorganization process and the regulator's intervention documented in U.S.Chapter 11 bankruptcy.We do this by further accommodating the fixed transaction costs on dividends to imitate the real-world procedure of dividend payments.Incorporating the fixed transaction costs transforms the targeting optimal dividend problem into an impulse control problem rather than a singular control problem,and hence computations and proofs that are distinct from[44]are needed.To account for the financial stress that is due to the more subtle concept of Chapter 11 bankruptcy,the surplus process after dividends is driven by a piece-wise spectrally negative Lévy process with endogenous regime switching.Some explicit expressions of the expected net present values under a double barrier dividend strategy,new to the literature,are established in terms of scale functions.With the help of these expressions,we are able to characterize the optimal strategy among the set of admissible double barrier dividend strategies.When the tail of the Lévy measure is log-convex,this optimal double barrier dividend strategy is then verified as the optimal dividend strategy,solving our optimal impulse control problem. 展开更多

The adding of ZnMgO asymmetric double barriers(ADB)in p-ZnO2(Li,N)/n-ZnO homojunction affects the p-n junction device performance prominently.Two different homojunctions are fabricated on Si(100)substrates by pulsed laser deposition;one is the traditional p-ZnO2(Li,N)/n-ZnO homojunction with different thicknesses named as S_(1)(250 nm)and S2(500 nm),the other is the one with ADB embedded in the n-layer named as Q(265 nm).From the photoluminescence spectra,defect luminescence present in the S-series devices is effectively limited in the Q device.The current-voltage curve of the Q device shows Zener-diode rectification property because the two-dimensional electron gas tunnels through the narrow ZnMgO barrier under a reverse bias,thus decreasing the working p-n homojunction thickness from 500 nm to 265 nm.The ADB-modified homojunction shows higher carrier mobility in the Q device.The electroluminescence of the ZnO homojunction is improved in Q compared to S_(2),because the holes in p-type ZnO(Li,N)can cross the wide ZnMgO barrier under a forward bias voltage into the ZnO quantum well.Therefore,electron-hole recombination occurs in the narrow bandgap of n-type ZnO,creating an ultraviolet light-emitting diode using the ZnO homojunction. 展开更多

Quantum nature of proton transferring across one-dimensional potential fields

Proton transfer plays a key role in the applications of advanced energy materials as well as in the functionalities of biological systems.In this work,based on the transfer matrix method,we study the quantum effects of proton transfer in a series of one-dimensional(1 D) model potentials and numerically calculate the quantum probability of transferring across single and double barriers(wells).In the case of single barriers,when the incident energies of protons are above the barrier height,the quantum oscillations in the transmission coefficients depend on the geometric shape of the barriers.It is found that atomic resonant tunneling(ART) not only presents in the rectangular single well and rectangular double barriers as expected,but also exists in the other types of potential wells and double barriers.For hetero-structured double barriers,there is no resonant tunneling in the classical forbidden zone,i.e.,in the case when the incident energy(E_(i)) is lower than the barrier height(E_(b)).Furthermore,we have provided generalized analysis on the characteristics of transmission coefficients of hetero-structured rectangular double barriers. 展开更多

Relatively well crystallized and high aspect ratio Mg-Al layered double hydroxides(LDHs) were prepared by coprecipitation process in aqueous solution and further rehydrated to an organic modified LDH(OLDH) in the presence of surfactant. The intercalated structure and high aspect ratio of OLDH were verified by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). A series of poly(propylene carbonate)(PPC)/OLDH composite films with different contents of OLDH were prepared via a melt-blending method. Their cross section morphologies, gas barrier properties and tensile strength were investigated as a function of OLDH contents. SEM results show that OLDH platelets are well dispersed within the composites and oriented parallel to the composite sheet plane. The gas barrier properties and tensile strength are obviously enhanced upon the incorporation of OLDH. Particularly, PPC/2%OLDH film exhibits the best barrier properties among all the composite films. Compared with pure PPC, the oxygen permeability coefficient(OP) and water vapor permeability coefficient(WVP) is reduced by 54% and 17% respectively with 2% OLDH addition. Furthermore, the tensile strength of PPC/2%OLDH is 83% higher than that of pure PPC with only small lose of elongation at break. Therefore, PPC/OLDH composite films show great potential application in packaging materials due to its biodegradable properties, superior oxygen and moisture barrier characteristics. 展开更多

In order to reveal the conduction mechanism of ZnO varistor, the pulsed electroacoustic (PEA) measurement is employed to investigate the space charge distribution characteristics of ZnO varistors under different current densities in this paper. Experimental results show that the relationship between the space charge and the current density is consistent with the voltage-current characteristics, and can reflect the nonlinear characteristics of ZnO varistor. The space charge increases linearly with the increase of the electric field strength and the current density in the small current region, this reflects the decrease of the surface states of the grain boundary and changes of the Schottky barrier. There exists a transition region between the small current and middle current regions, where the current is composed of the current by the emission of thermally activated electrons and the tunneling current. In the middle current region, the space charge will decrease as the current increases, and will disappear with the depletion layer decreasing to zero. 展开更多

The coal-fired flue gas spraying wastewater is a kind of refractory mixed wastewater with poor biodegradability.In this study,the degradation of model coal-fired flue gas spraying wastewater was studied by using discharge free radicals produced by double-dielectric barrier discharge.The degradation rate of pollutants,chemical oxygen demand removal rate and other indicators were detected,and the influence of different conditions on the degradation effect was analyzed.The optimal parameters are as follows:residence time 120 min,input power 170.0 W,initial pH value 3.79,and aeration rate 1.8 mL/min.The initial concentrations of acetone,formaldehyde,chloroform,benzene and toluene were 100,100,100,and 100 mg/L,respectively.Furthermore,it is proved that the discharge area is independent of the degradation rate.Through the analysis of the mechanism,it is found that·OH is an important factor affecting the degradation rate of pollutants in model coal-fired flue gas spraying wastewater. 展开更多
