For existing coating equipments, which are low precision and automation level on monitoring thin-film thickness, a new photoelectric control and analysis system has been developed. In the new system, main techniques include a photoelectric system with dual-light path, a dual-lock-phase circuit system and a comprehensive digital processing-control-analysis system. The test results of new system show that the static and dynamic stabilities and the control precision of thin-film thickness are extremely increased. The standard deviation of thin-film thickness, which indicates the duplication of thin-film thickness monitoring, is equal to or less than 0.72%. The display resolution limit on reflectivity is 0.02 %. In the system, the linearity of drift is very high, and the static drift ratio approaches zero.展开更多

The previous research analyzes NPHR as a type of step impedance resonator (SIR), however, it does not give analytical equations or prediction for the dual-resonance characteristics of the NPHR structure discussed in this paper. Consequently, a circuit model is proposed to analyze the dual-resonance characteristics of NPHRs. Analytical equations are derived, showing that the frequency ratio of a dual-band NPHR can be determined by the ratio of turns. EM simulation and experimental results have shown good agreement with the circuit analysis. The derived analytical equations from circuit model can be used for fast design of NPHRs. A step-width aperture is proposed to independently control the coupling coefficients at the each band of NPHRs. A third order dual-passband filter has been designed and fabricated. The filter has 3.3% and 3% fractional bandwidths at 789 MHz and 2402 MHz, respectively. The designed prototype filter shows that NPHRs can be utilized to realize compact filters with dual-band characteristics. The filter design can be extended from engineering perspective for application in wireless communication systems.展开更多

The proposed SNG electric WG-MTM unit cell is designed by etching two different symmetrical spiral lines on the ground, and has two stopbands operating at 1.86 GHz and 2.40 GHz. The circuit size is very compact, which is only λ_0/33.6 ×λ_0/15.1(where λ_0 is the wavelength at 1.86 GHz in free space). Taking advantage of the dual-stopband property of the proposed SNG electric WG-MTM, a dual-band microstrip antenna array operating at 1.86 GHz and 2.40 GHz with very low mutual coupling is designed by embedding a cross shaped array of the proposed SNG electric WG-MTM. The measured and simulated results of the designed dual-band antenna array are in good agreement with each other, indicating that the mutual coupling of the fabricated dual-band antenna array realizes 9.8/11.1 d B reductions in the H plane, 8.5/7.9 d B reductions in the E plane at1.86 GHz and 2.40 GHz, respectively. Besides, the distance of the antenna elements in the array is only 0.35 λ_0(where λ_0 is the wavelength at 1.86 GHz in free space). The proposed strategy is used for the first time to reduce the mutual coupling in E & H planes of the dual-band microstrip antenna array by using ultra-compact SNG electric WG-MTM.展开更多
