The voltage-current characteristics showed that the discharge current rose with the increase of biasing voltage, which was modified by the duty ratio. Before deposition, two approaches were adopted for the pre-treatment of the silicon substrates, respectively, and the substrates were scratched by diamond paste or seeded by diamond powders using the so-called 'soft dry polished' technique. Diamond films were deposited under a fixed discharge power by changing the duty ratios. In the first group with scratched substrates, it was found that under a high duty ratio the diamond grew slowly with quite poor nucleation, while in the second case a high duty ratio induced a high deposition rate and good diamond qual- ity. Reactive hydrocarbon species with high energy are essential for the initial nucleation process, which is more effectively achieved at a high biasing voltage in the condition of a low duty ratio. In the film growth process, the large discharge current at a high duty ratio represents an increased concentration of electrons and reactive species as well, promoting the growth of diamond films.展开更多

However, previous studies also reported that the cell death occurs when cells are maintained at 43 ℃ for more than 20 minutes. The aim of this study is to investigate thermal responses inside in vivo rabbit auricular veins exposed to pulsed HIFU (1.17 MHz, 5300 W/cm2, with relatively low-duty ratios (0.2%-4.3%). The results show that: (1) with constant pulse repetition frequency (PRF) (e.g., 1 Hz), the thermal responses inside the vessel will increase with the increasing duty ratio; (2) a temperature elevation to 43 ℃ can be identified at the duty ratio of 4.3%; (3) with constant duty ratios, the change of PRF will not significantly affect the temperature measurement in the vessel; (4) as the duty ratios lower than 4.3%, the presence of microbubbles will not significantly enhance the thermal responses in the vessel, but will facilitate HIFU-induced inertial cavitation events.展开更多

By using the Lyapunov, second method, the robust control and robust optimal control for a class of sampled-data systems whose underlying continuous-time systems are subjected to structured uncertainties are discussed in time-domain. As a result, some sufficient conditions of robust stability and the corresponding robust control laws are derived. All these results are designed by solving a class of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) and a class of dynamic optimization problem with LMIs constraints respectively. An example adapted under some experimental conditions in the dynamic process of gas tungsten arc welding system in which the controlled variable is the backside width of weld pool and controlling variable pulse duty ratio, is worked out to illustrate the proposed results, it is shown that the sampling period is the crucial design oarameter.展开更多

Under the condition of uniform cumulating time of positive impulse width, the essence of altering frequency and duty ratio to determine the formation of coating is to vary the duration and interval time of positive pulse. The growth of coating is mainly controlled by duration time of positive pulse and hardly correlated to the interval time of positive pulse, while both duration and interval time of positive pulse have few influences on the morphology and phase structures of coating. The dynamic current is related to positive impulse width and the ratio of positive pulse on-time to pulse off-time. Regardless of uniform duration or interval time of positive pulse, the energy dissipation presents a descending tendency. The relationship between energy consumption and anticorrosion performance is contradictory, and obtaining excellent corrosion ratio and frequency can be designed purposefully to realize the resistance is bound to sacrifice lots of energy.
