In this paper,we consider a class of third-order nonlinear delay dynamic equations.First,we establish a Kiguradze-type lemma and some useful estimates.Second,we give a sufficient and necessary condition for the existence of eventually positive solutions having upper bounds and tending to zero.Third,we obtain new oscillation criteria by employing the Potzsche chain rule.Then,using the generalized Riccati transformation technique and averaging method,we establish the Philos-type oscillation criteria.Surprisingly,the integral value of the Philos-type oscillation criteria,which guarantees that all unbounded solutions oscillate,is greater than θ_(4)(t_(1),T).The results of Theorem 3.5 and Remark 3.6 are novel.Finally,we offer four examples to illustrate our results. 展开更多

This paper is concerned with the oscillatory behavior of a class of third-order nonlinear variable delay neutral functional dynamic equations on time scale. By using the generalized Riccati transformation and inequality technique, we establish some new oscillation criteria for the equations. Our results extend and improve some known results, but also unify the oscillation of third-order nonlinear variable delay functional differential equations and functional difference equations with a nonlinear neutral term. A Spatial-Temporal Network Perspective for the Propagation Dynamics of Air Traffic Delays 被引量:7

Intractable delays occur in air traffic due to the imbalance between ever-increasing air traffic demand and limited airspace capacity.As air traffic is associated with complex air transport systems,delays can be magnified and propagated throughout these systems,resulting in the emergent behavior known as delay propagation.An understanding of delay propagation dynamics is pertinent to modern air traffic management.In this work,we present a complex network perspective of delay propagation dynamics.Specifically,we model air traffic scenarios using spatial–temporal networks with airports as the nodes.To establish the dynamic edges between the nodes,we develop a delay propagation method and apply it to a given set of air traffic schedules.Based on the constructed spatial-temporal networks,we suggest three metrics-magnitude,severity,and speed-to gauge delay propagation dynamics.To validate the effectiveness of the proposed method,we carry out case studies on domestic flights in the Southeastern Asia region(SAR)and the United States.Experiments demonstrate that the propagation magnitude in terms of the number of flights affected by delay propagation and the amount of propagated delays for the US traffic are respectively five and ten times those of the SAR.Experiments further reveal that the propagation speed for US traffic is eight times faster than that of the SAR.The delay propagation dynamics reveal that about six hub airports in the SAR have significant propagated delays,while the situation in the United States is considerably worse,with a corresponding number of around 16.This work provides a potent tool for tracing the evolution of air traffic delays. 展开更多

Time delay is ubiquitous in mechanical, physical, ecological, physiological, biological, economic, electronic, and chemical systems due to finite propaga- tion speeds of signals, finite reaction times, and finite processing times. These realistic backgrounds drive var- ious investigations to consider effects of time delays on realistic phenomena which are modeled by delay differ- ential equations. It is impossible to make achievements only by extending theory of ordinary or partial differen- tial equations since time delay is of uncertainty in time scale. A generalized simulation method of the tracking,telemetry and control(TT&C) channel,which is applicable to wideband and arbitrary radio frequency(RF) signal,is proposed.It can accurately simulate the dynamic transmission delay of the arbitrary RF signal in channels,especially regardless of any prior knowledge including signal form,signal parameters,and so on.The proposed method orthogonally demodulates the wideband and arbitrary RF signal to complex baseband by a known local oscillator(LO) signal.Whereafter,it takes measures to obtain the delay reconstruction signal of baseband signals based on the dynamic transmission delay between a ground station and a responder.Meanwhile,it manages to obtain the delay reconstruction signal of LO signals.The simulation output signal(the delayed RF signal) can be achieved through the synthesis of the two delay reconstruction signals mentioned above.The principle and its related key technology are described in detail,and the realizable system architecture is given. 展开更多

In this paper,adaptive dynamic surface control(DSC) is developed for a class of nonlinear systems with unknown discrete and distributed time-varying delays and unknown dead-zone.Fuzzy logic systems are used to approximate the unknown nonlinear functions.Then,by combining the backstepping technique and the appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals with the dynamic surface control approach,the adaptive fuzzy tracking controller is designed.Our development is able to eliminate the problem of 'explosion of complexity' inherent in the existing backstepping-based methods.The main advantages of our approach include:1) for the n-th-order nonlinear systems,only one parameter needs to be adjusted online in the controller design procedure,which reduces the computation burden greatly.Moreover,the input of the dead-zone with only one adjusted parameter is much simpler than the ones in the existing results;2) the proposed control scheme does not need to know the time delays and their upper bounds.It is proven that the proposed design method is able to guarantee that all the signals in the closed-loop system are bounded and the tracking error is smaller than a prescribed error bound,Finally,simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. 展开更多
