Recent experimenta1 and theoretica1 progress in rock friction have demonstrated that most continental earthquakes are associated with stick-slip in the brittle field of the crust and that only dynamic instability with fast slip is related to seismicity. Dynamic stability will be influenced by frictional parameters a-b, a, stiffness K, characteristic displacement L, slip rate history (velocity weakening), normal stress history (pressure strengthening), and temperature, which is described by the frictional constitutive laws. Velocity-weakening (a-b<0) can cause dynamic instability if the medium stiffness is below the critical stiffness (X/Kc<1), while velocity-strengthening enhances the frictional stability. The most recent experimental evidence of rock friction will be systematically reviewed in this paper.展开更多

It is indicated that the mutual intersection of bainite sheaves often occurs during growth of bainite ferrite, resulting in an interlocked bainite microstructure. Moreover, bainite transformation is promoted by higher austenization temperature and the longer and finer bainite platelets are obtained. Further, The average growth rate of bainite after austenization at 1 100 ℃ is calculated as 5.8 μm·s -1. The data collected are used to verify a crowd dynamics model previously developed. The crowd dynamics model is based on simulating the global movement of each individual under the influence of the surrounding crowd, and the good agreement between the predictions and observations validates the prediction model. The crowd dynamics model suggests that the crowd movement speed is dominated by two factors: the front-back inter-person effect, and the pedestrian's self-motive. The first effect gives logarithmic relationship between the crowd speed and crowd density. The second factor depends on the individual motive driven with which people try to divorce themselves from the control of the crowd movement. The prediction model are helpful to guide the design of public traffic systems for effective crowd dispersal.展开更多

Some first-order low-pass filters are introduced into the design process to avoid the occurrence of high-order derivatives of the line of sight angle in the expression of guidance law such that it can be implemented in practical applications. The proposed guidance law is effective in compensating the bad influence of the autopilot lag on guidance accuracy. In the simulations of intercepting non maneuvering targets, targets with step acceleration, and targets with sinusoidal acceleration respectively, the guidance law is compared with the adaptive sliding mode guidance law in the presence of missile autopilot lag. The simulation results show that the proposed guidance law is able to guide a missile to accurately intercept a maneuvering target, even if it escapes in a great and fast maneuver and the autopilot has a relatively large lag.展开更多

An adaptive observer is proposed to identify the topology of a complex dynamical networks based on the Lyapunov stability theory. Here the output of the network and the states of the observer are used to construct the updating law of the topology such that the communication resources from the network to its observer are saved. Some convergent criteria of the adaptive observer are derived in the form of linear inequality matrices. Several numerical examples are shown to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed observer.展开更多

Unlike the other methods, assuming that the dynamics of the network can be described by a linear stochastic model, or using the state variables of nodes in the network to design an adaptive observer, it only uses the output variable of the nodes to design an observer and an adaptive law of topology matrix in the observer of a complex network, leading to simple design of the observer and easy realisation of topology monitoring for the complex networks in real engineering. The proposed scheme can monitor any changes of the topology structure of a time-delay complex network. The effectiveness of this method is successfully demonstrated by virtue of a complex networks with Lorenz model.展开更多

文摘Accounting for the missile autopilot as second-order dynamics, an observer-based guidance law is designed based on the dynamic surface control method. The simulation results show that the proposed guidance law is able to guide a missile to accurately intercept a maneuvering target, even if it escapes in a great and fast maneuver and the autopilot has a relatively large lag.

文摘A problem of topology identification for complex dynamical networks is investigated in this paper. Several numerical examples are shown to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed observer.

文摘Rocks are likely to undergo spalling failure under dynamic loading. The fracture development and rock failure behaviours were investigated during dynamic tensile loading.Tests were conducted with a split-Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB)in four different impact loading conditions.Thin sections near failure surfaces were also made to evaluate the growth patterns of fractures observed by polarizing microscope.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)was used to observe mineral grains on failure surfaces and to evaluate their response to loading and failure. The results indicate that the number of spalling cracks increases with increase in peak impact loads and that quartz sustains abundant intergranular fracturing.Cleavage planes and their direction relative to loading play a vital role in rock strength and fracturing.Separation along cleavage planes perpendicular to loading without the movement of micaceous minerals parallel to loading appears to be unique to the rock spalling process.

文摘A robust fault-tolerant control scheme is proposed for the longitudinal dynamics of an aircraft with input saturation, using the anti-windup method and the fault detection observer technology. To estimate the system fault,a detection observer is designed for the longitudinal dynamics, and a fault-tolerant control law is developed to compensate for the fault effects of the longitudinal dynamics. Then,an anti-windup compensator is augmented into the fault-tolerant control law to eliminate the effect of input saturation.Using linear matrix inequality(LMI)technology, the detection observer based fault-tolerant controller is designed to ensure the stability of the closed-loop system and the convergence of the detection observer. Finally, the developed robust fault-tolerant control scheme is applied to the longitudinal model of an aircraft and simulation results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

文摘This paper proposes a novel approach for fault diagnosis of a time-delay complex dynamical network. The effectiveness of this method is successfully demonstrated by virtue of a complex networks with Lorenz model.
