This paper investigates and analyses the deorbit performance and mission applicability of the electrodynamic tethered system. To do so, the electrodynamic tethered deorbit dynamics with multi-perturbation is firstly formulated, where the Earth magnetic field, the atmospheric drag, and the Earth oblateness effect are considered. Then, the key system parameters, including payload mass, tether length and tether type, are analyzed by numerical simulations to investigate their influences on the deorbit performance and to give the setting principles for choosing system parameters. The device structure used in the simulation is Al/ZnO:Al/nZn(O,S)/pCZTS/Mo. The primary motivation of this simulation work is to optimize the composition in the ZnO1-xSx buffer layer, which would yield higher conversion efficiency. By varying S/(S+O) ratio x, the conduction band offset (CBO) at CZTS/Zn(O,S) interface can range from -0.23 eV to 1.06eV if the full range of the ratio is considered. The optimal CBO of 0.23eV can be achieved when the ZnO1-xSx buffer has an S/(S+O) ratio of 0.6. The solar cell efficiency first increases with increasing sulfur content and then decreases abruptly for x〉 0.6, which reaches the highest value of 17.55% by our proposed optimal sulfur content x= 0.6. Our results provide guidance in dealing with the ZnO1-xSx buffer layer deposition for high efficiency CZTS solar cells.展开更多

Two model 2D RC frames with 7 and 12 story are selected for analysis. Winkler Spring and half space direct method models are used for flexible base for the frames founded on two types of soft soils with shear velocity Vs < 150 m/s Asper Seismic Codes of Chinese GB50011-2010 Soil IV and Ethiopian ES8-2015 soil D. The frames are subjected to strong ground motion matched to response spectrums of soft soil of Chinese GB50011-2010 and Ethiopian ES8-2015 for linear time history analysis. The dynamic analysis result shows Spring and Fixed base mass participation 90% reaches in 2 or 3 modes but in direct method 11 to 30 modes for story 12 and 7 respectively. However, both flexible base models have bigger fundamental period of vibration and inter story drift but smaller base shear than fixed base. In addition, within the flexible base models the inter-story drift, second order effect (P-Δ) and Story shear distribution are different along the height of frames. The spring model shows larger Story drift and second order effect (P-Δ) at the bottom of Story for both soft soils types. On the other hand, half space direct method model indicates value reverse to spring model;it gives bigger Story drift and P-Δ effect in the top stories than fixed base. Finally, this study concludes that base shear reduction due to SSI may not be always beneficial. Because the gravity load is constant in both fixed and flexible bases that cause bigger P-Δ effect at the bottom stories due to increase, inter story drift and decrease story shear in flexible base.展开更多

The main focus of the study is to analyze the tower shadow effect on the aerodynamic performance of the wind turbine under different inlet flow conditions. Subsequently, the finite element model is established by considering fluid/structure interactions to study the structural stress, displacement, strain distributions and flow field information of the structure under the uniform wind speed. Finally, the fluid-structure interaction model is established by considering turbulent wind and the tower shadow effect. The variation rules of the dynamic response of the one-way and two-way fluid-structure interaction(FSI) models under different wind speeds are analyzed, and the numerical calculation results are compared with those of the centralized mass model. The results show that the tower shadow effect and structural deformation are the main factors affecting the aerodynamic load fluctuation of the wind turbine, which in turn affects the aerodynamic performance and structural stability of the blades. The structural dynamic response of the coupled model shows significant similarity, while the structural displacement response of the former exhibits less fluctuation compared with the conventional centralized mass model. The one-way fluid-structure interaction(FSI)model shows a higher frequency of stress-strain and displacement oscillations on the blade compared with the two-way FSI model.展开更多

However, traditional CR-enabled DSA system employs only single DSA strategy, which might not be suited to the dynamic network environment. In this paper, we propose a multi-strategy DSA(MS-DSA) system, where the primary and the secondary system share spectrum resources with multiple DSA strategies simultaneously. To analyze the performance of the proposed MS-DSA system, we model it as a continuous-time Markov chain(CTMC) and derive the expressions to compute the corresponding performance metrics. Unlike the conventional SEMI, the proposed MSC SEMI utilizes multiple small circular columns to support the deck and a large pontoon that increases the structural displacement. The novelty of the MSC SEMI is its reduction of the hydrodynamic load on the structure and suppression of its motion response, particularly in the heave direction. The MSC SEMI has the advantages of increasing the added mass, radiation damping, and natural period of the structure. A comprehensive investigation of the hydrodynamic performance of the novel MSC SEMI is conducted in both the time and frequency domains with a special focus on the resulting hydrodynamic load and motion response. Numerical simulation results demonstrate that the MSC SEMI concept can reduce the hydrodynamic load and motion response and improve the hydrodynamic performance of SEMIs as expected.展开更多

The shock absorbing effect is illustrated through an example of a two DOF damper-isolated system excited by sinusoidal waves and actual ground acceleration input recorded in earthquakes. It is shown that most of the responses of the structure with dampers reduce greatly near the resonant zone, but acceleration is enlarged in the lower or higher frequency zone; among various parameters, the influence of frictional coefficient n is the most significant, that of damping ratio of the dampers , is the second, and that of stiffness coefficient of the dampers k, is the slightest.展开更多

When a code is converted from the sequential form to the parallel form, data dependence is a main problem. A traditional sequential molecular dynamics code is anatomized to find the data dependence segments in it, and the two different methods, i.e., recover method and backward mapping method were used to eliminate those data dependencies in order to realize the parallelization of this sequential MD code. The performance of the parallelized MD code was analyzed by using some performance analysis tools. The results of the test show that the computing size of this code increases sharply form 1 million atoms before parallelization to 20 million atoms after parallelization, and the wall clock during computing is reduced largely. Some hot-spots in this code are found and optimized by improved algorithm. The efficiency of parallel computing is 30% higher than that of before, and the calculation time is saved and larger scale calculation problems are solved.展开更多

文摘The growth in computer processing power has made it possible to use time-consuming analysis methods such as incremental dynamic analysis(IDA) with higher accuracy in less time.In an IDA study,a series of earthquake records are applied to a structure at successively increasing intensity levels, which causes the structure to shift from the elastic state into the inelastic state and finally into collapse. In this way,the limit-states and capacity of a structure can be determined. In the present research, the IDA of a concrete gravity dam considering a nonlinear concrete behavior, and sliding planes within the dam body and at the dam-foundation interface,is performed. The influence of the friction angle and lift joint slope on the response parameters are investigated and the various limit-states of the dam are recognized. It is observed that by introducing a lift joint, the tensile damage can be avoided for the dam structure. The lift joint sliding is essentially independent of the base joint friction angle and the upper ligament over the inclined lift joint slides into the upstream direction in strong earthquakes.

文摘This paper presents a novel semi-submersible(SEMI) platform concept, called the multiple small columns(MSC) SEMI that improves upon the hydrodynamic performance of the conventional SEMI. Numerical simulation results demonstrate that the MSC SEMI concept can reduce the hydrodynamic load and motion response and improve the hydrodynamic performance of SEMIs as expected.
文摘In this paper, mathematical models and dynamic analyses for both SDOF and MDOF structures isolated with dampers are established and performed, and a comprehensive computation method is provided. The shock absorbing effect is illustrated through an example of a two DOF damper-isolated system excited by sinusoidal waves and actual ground acceleration input recorded in earthquakes. It is shown that most of the responses of the structure with dampers reduce greatly near the resonant zone, but acceleration is enlarged in the lower or higher frequency zone; among various parameters, the influence of frictional coefficient n is the most significant, that of damping ratio of the dampers , is the second, and that of stiffness coefficient of the dampers k, is the slightest.

文摘An OpenMP approach was proposed to parallelize the sequential molecular dynamics(MD) code on shared memory machines. The efficiency of parallel computing is 30% higher than that of before, and the calculation time is saved and larger scale calculation problems are solved.

文摘Current building design codes allow the appearance of structural and nonstructural damage under design basis earthquakes. The research regarding probabilistic seismic loss estimation in domestic building structure is urgent. The evaluation in this paper is based on a 11-story reinforced concrete office building, incremental dynamic analysis(IDA)is conducted in Perform 3D program using models capable to simulate all possible limit states up to collapse.Next, the probability distribution of post-earthquake casualties, rebuild costs repair costs and business downtime loss are calculated in PACT software for the studied building considering the modified component vulnerability groups and population flow models. The evaluation procedure can also shed light on other types of buildings in China. For non-typical functional building structures, this article proposes to build a finite element model of structural components and to classify the vulnerability groups based on the construction drawings, and to supply and improve the vulnerability library of appendages in FEMA P-58 according to the actual situation. In this way,the application scope of building seismic performance evaluation can be expanded.
