The results indicate that the true stress increases with increasing strain rate, while decreases with increasing temperature. Under the 105 s-1 high strain rate and temperature higher than 673 K,the true stress would even be less than that under quasi-static condition. A new method incorporating TC16's stress-strain curve developing item was proposed to determine the coefficients in J-C model easily and to avoid the estimation of the adiabatic temperature rising. The Johnson-Cook dynamic constitutive relationship for TC16 was obtained for the first time. Good agreement was obtained between the model prediction and the experimental stress-strain curves for TC16 under both quasi-static and dynamic loadings.展开更多

After freezethaw, nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) tests and impact loading tests were carried out, from which microscopic damage characteristics of sandstone and dynamic mechanical parameters were obtained. The results indicate that the porosity increases with the increase of cycle number, the rate of porosity growth descends at the beginning of freeze-thaw, yet accelerates after a certain number of cycles. The proportion of pores with different sizes changes dynamically and the multi-scale distribution of pores tends to develop on pore structure with the continuing impact of freeze-thaw and thawing. Dynamic compressive stress-strain curve of sandstone undergoing freeze-thaw can be divided into four phases, and the phase of compaction is inconspicuous compared with the static curve. Elastic modulus and dynamic peak intensity of sandstone gradually decrease with freeze-thaw cycles, while peak strain increases. The higher the porosity is, the more serious the degradation of dynamic intensity is. The porosity is of a polynomial relationship with the dynamic peak intensity.展开更多

This problem is studied using theoretical analysis, numerical simulation, and experimental study. In the train-bridge dynamic interaction system proposed in this paper, the train vehicle model is established by the rigid-body dynamics method, the bridge model is established by the finite element method, and the wheel/rail vertical and lateral interaction are simulated by the corresponding assumption and the Kalker linear creep theory, respectively. Track irregularity, structure deformation, wind load, collision load, structural damage, foundation scouring, and earthquake action are regarded as the excitation for the system. The stress-strain behavior of in-situ soil at a depth of 5 m was investigated by conducting undrained triaxial compression tests using the remolded soil samples. The test results show that the stress-strain relationship of unsaturated cohesive soil is still hyperbolic. The values of parameters a and b given in the model decrease with increasing the confining pressure for soil samples with the same moisture content and increase with increasing the moisture content for soil samples under the same confining pressure. The relationships between parameters a, b and moisture content were studied for confining pressures of 100, 150, 200 and 250 kPa. The comparison between the measured and predicted stress-strain curves for an additional group of soil samples, having a moisture content of 25.4%, shows that the proposed moisture content-dependent hyperbolic model provides a good prediction of stress-strain behavior of unsaturated cohesive soil.展开更多

An explicit expression of continuous velocity distribution is derivedbased on the features of velocity gradient distribution. The velocity distribution function is adopted to determine the dynamic stress-strain statesof cellular materials under dynamic loading. The local stress-strain history distribution reveals that sectional cells experience a process from the precursor of elastic behavior to the shock stress state, through the dynamic initial crushing state. A power-law relation between the dynamic initial crushing stress andthe strainrate isestablished, which confirms the strain-rate effect of cellular materials. By extracting the critical points immediately before the unloading stage on the local dynamic stress-strain history curves, the dynamic stress-strain statesof cellular materials are determined. They exhibit loading rate-dependence but are independent of the initial impact velocity.Furthermore, with the increase of relative density, the dynamic hardening behaviorof cellular specimen is enhanced and the crushing process event is advanced. The particle velocity-based analytical method is appliedto analyze the dynamic responses of cellular materials. This method is better than continuum-based shock models, since itdoes not require a pre-assumed constitutive relation. Therefore, the particle velocity-based analytical method proposed in this study may provide new ideas to carry out dynamic experimental measurement, which is especially applicable toinhomogeneous materials.展开更多

This process, which is commonly referred to as rural urban migration can be more evident if the urban system is maintained as an open system. This holds key to interpreting how cities attract and retain their populations, a process that is critical to understand the causes of deterioration of most cities in developing countries that still draw much of their population inputs from rural areas, as it is the case with Africa. Deducing from South African experience, if policies that regulate movement of people between rural areas and cities are politically inclined they tend to give a particular character to the evolution and development of cities. This has been found to be true for two sets of policies implemented inSouth Africa. Ones that were implemented during Apartheid, while they encouraged the migration of unskilled laborers from rural to urban areas, failed to promote settlement and adaptation of African communities in the cities and this led to an upsurge of informal settlements around many cities ofSouth Africa. One that have been implemented since the advent of Democracy, due to their relaxed nature have led to an influx of people of African descent into the city centers and the effect of this has been the deterioration of these areas. With these findings this study cautions that urban system needs to be treated as open, that is, be allowed to regulate itself through economic success and failures of people who aspire to live in urban areas by choosing to settle in the cities.展开更多

文摘The recirculating planetary roller screw mechanism(RPRSM)is a transmission mechanism that engages the screw and nut threaded by multiple grooved rollers. In this paper, frstly, the design method of RPRSM nut threadless area is proposed, and the equations related to the structural parameters of nut threadless area are derived. On this basis, the cross-section design method of roller, screw and nut is constructed according to the actual situation of engagements between the screw/nut and the roller.By adjusting the gap between the two beveled edges and that between the arc and the beveled edge, the accuracy of the thread engagements between the screw/nut and the roller can be improved.Secondly,to ensure the engagements of the screw/nut and the roller, the distance equation from the center surface of the diferent rollers to the end surface of cam ring is given.Thirdly, combined with the working principle and structural composition of RPRSM,the component model is established according to its relevant structural parameters, and the virtual assembly is completed. Finally, the 3D model is imported into the ADAMS simulation software for multi-rigid body dynamics. The dynamic characteristic is analyzed, and the simulated values are compared with the theoretical values. The results show that the contact forces between the screw/nut and the roller are sinusoidal, mainly due to the existence of a small gap between the roller and the carrier. The maximum collision forces between the roller and cam ring are independent from load magnitude.Normally, the collision force between the roller and the carrier increases as the load increases. When RPRSM is in the transmission process, the roller angular speed in nut threadless area begins to appear abruptly, and the position of the maximum change is at the contact between the roller and the convex platform of cam ring. The design of the nut threadless area and the proposed virtual assembly method can provide a theoretical guidance for RPRSM research,as well as a reference for overall performance optimization.

文摘Combined bodies of rock-like material and rock are widely encountered in geotechnical engineering, such as tunnels and mines. The existing theoretical models describing the stress-strain relationship of a combined body lack a binary feature.Based on effective medium theory, this paper presents the governing equation of the“elastic modulus”for combined and single bodies under triaxial compressive tests.A binary effective medium model is then established.Based on the compressive experiment of concretegranite combined bodies, the feasibility of determining the stress threshold based on crack axial strain is discussed, and the model is verified. The model is further extended to coal-rock combined bodies of more diverse types, and the variation laws of the compressive mechanical parameters are then discussed. The results show that the fitting accuracy of the model with the experimental curves of the concretegranite combined bodies and various types of coal-rock combined bodies are over 95%.The crack axial strain method can replace the crack volumetric strain method, which clarifies the physical meanings of the model parameters. The variation laws of matrix parameters and crack parameters are discussed in depth and are expected to be more widely used in geotechnical engineering.
文摘The dynamic stress-strain curves of 93% tungsten (W) alloy in the forged state at strain rates up to (5 000 s^(-1)) and in the temperature range from 223 K to 473 K were measured with the split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) technique. Based on the above experimental data a dynamic constitutive equation considering the effects of strain rate, temperature and the special microstructure of such a kind of W-alloy was proposed. The numerical simulation for the experimental process with this constitutive equation was also carried out, the results show that the constitutive relationship constructed in this paper is very satisfactory for representing the dynamic responsive behavior of material..

文摘Constitutive experiments are the base of all rock mechanics works. The effect of engineering character on constitutive law is a new problem of rock mechanics. The results of series specimens based on the uniaxial and plane strain compression experiments were presented and discussed. It is found that engineering or experiment character has obvious effects on stress-strain relationship and especially on mechanic parameters in post-peak area. And the law of size effect of softening materials was also discussed.
文摘If rural-urban relationship is treated as an open and unregulated process, cities serve as a sink for rural population, meaning that higher proportions of rural people migrate from rural areas to stay permanently in the cities. With these findings this study cautions that urban system needs to be treated as open, that is, be allowed to regulate itself through economic success and failures of people who aspire to live in urban areas by choosing to settle in the cities.

文摘The organized three-dimensional chromosome architecture in the cell nucleus provides scaffolding for precise regulation of gene expression. When the cell changes its identity in the cell-fate decision-making process, extensive rearrangements of chromo-some structures occur accompanied by large-scale adaptations of gene expression, underscoring the importance of chromosome dynamics in shaping genome function.Over the last two decades, rapid development of experimental methods has provided unprecedented data to characterize the hierarchical structures and dynamic properties of chromosomes. In parallel, these enormous data offer valuable opportunities for developing quantitative computational models. Here,we review a variety of large-scale polymer models developed to investigate the structures and dynamics of chromosomes.Different from the underlying modeling strategies, these approaches can be classified into data-driven(‘top-down’)and physics-based(‘bottom-up’)categories.We discuss their contributions to offering valuable insights into the relationships among the structures, dynamics, and functions of chromosomes and propose the perspective of developing data integration approaches from different experimental technologies and multidisciplinary theoretical/simulation methods combined with different modeling strategies.
