Several large firms in China wi...Based on investigations of 112 Chinese firms and studies on foreign leading corporations, a theoretical framework of dynamic capabilities based strategy innovation (SI) is put forward. Several large firms in China winning through SI were studied empirically. This paper complements previous publications on the theories of innovation and strategy. This work's findings will be useful for managers interested in our approach, which highlights the importance of SI and focuses on and points out the major pitfalls in the innovation processes. Implementing the dynamic capabilities based strategy innovation can effectively cultivate and develop core competences of corporations. It is concluded that implementing SI is the only path for Chinese enterprise growth in the intensified competition in the knowledge economy.展开更多

This study aims at providing explanations for how MNCs(multinational companies)proceed with their manipulation of resources and competencies in the entry process to a foreign market.To an increasing extent,such proces...This study aims at providing explanations for how MNCs(multinational companies)proceed with their manipulation of resources and competencies in the entry process to a foreign market.To an increasing extent,such processes perform as a staging process of resource leverage.This study identifies three stages,using the multiple case study incorporating grounded theory:the initial stage,the adaptive intensification stage,and the advantage persistence stage.In the initial stage,an MNC’s entry decision tends to be based on the resource replication mode of resource leverage;the resource exploitation mode of resource leverage is used mainly in the adaptive intensification stage,and the resource exploration mode is used in the advantage persistence stage.This study suggests that these resource leverage modes incorporating their microfoundations can be viewed as a set of potential measurements for examining MNCs'dynamic capabilities in the entry process to a new host market.展开更多

This study aims to bridge the gap in research on the underlying linkage between the two independent areas, both of which are critical for firms to sustain competitiveness in changing industrial environments. Drawing upon insights from the integrated perspective of hierarchical dynamic capabilities, strategic entrepreneurship, and environmental dynamics, an explicit theoretical framework is put forward to achieve a better understanding of the ways through which hierarchical dynamic capabilities promote strategic entrepreneurship. Moreover, through the proposed theoretical lens, this study further explores the detailed mechanisms of how first-order and second-order dynamic capabilities improve strategic entrepreneurship with regard to uncertainty of market conditions.展开更多
