The SrBr2 hydration reaction could recover waste heat in low temperatures ranging from 373 K to 353 K, and the system showed good potential in terms of the high cooling thermal-storage density. Previous studies have given little information on the reaction characteristics of the SrBr2 hydration reaction. In this paper, we developed a measuring method for the hydration reaction equilibrium and reaction rate based on the volumetric method. We analyzed the hydration reaction rate with an unreacted-core shell model. In the experiments, the SrBr2 equilibrium temperature observed was equal to the theoretical equilibrium temperature obtained from thermodynamic databases. In addition, the hysteresis gap between the hydration and dehydration values was 2.0 K. Thus, the hysteresis effect was negligible for the chemical heat pump cooling operation. The reaction fraction of the SrBr2 hydration reached 0.7 within 20 s. By analyzing the hydration reaction rate with the unreacted-core shell model, the activation energy value was calculated to be56.6 kJ/mol. The calculation results showed good agreement with those of the experiment as the reaction fraction reached 0.7.展开更多

CaCl2 was used in the system of CHP. We evaluated the heat storage and heat releasing of CHP, and confirmed the practicality from the experimental results. The reactor module employed was an aluminum plate-tube heat exchanger with corrugated fins, and the CaCl2 powder was in the form of a packed bed. Heat storage operation and heat dissipation operation are performed at the same time and supplied to the heat demand destination. At this time, an environmental heat source can be used during the heat radiation operation, and the heat output can release more heat than the heat input during heat storage. The heat discharging and charging characteristics of the reactor module were evaluated experimentally. The coefficient of performance (COP) was calculated for the heat upgrading cycle, and the heat output in the system was determined. A COP of 1.42 and output of 650 W/L, based on the heat exchanger volume, were obtained using a 600 s change time for the heat pump.展开更多

The hydration heat release at initial 24 h and strengths at 3, 7, and 28 days of TDMOC specimens were conducted. The hydration products and paste microstructure were analyzed by XRD, FT-IR and SEM, respectively. The results showed that citric acid can not only reduce the 24 h hydration heat release and delay the occurring time of second peak of TDMOC, but also produce more 5Mg(OH)z.MgC12.SH20 and less Mg(OH)2 in hydration process of TDMOC. More perfect and slender crystals were observed in the microstructure of the TDMOC pastes with citric acid. The results demonstrated that citric acid as an additive of TDMOC can decrease the hydration heat release and increase the compressive strength and flexural strength of TDMOC. The possible mechanism for the strength enhancement was discussed.展开更多

Through comparing BHSZs with the depths of bottom simulating reflectors (BSRs), in Shenhu Area (SA), we found that there are big differences between them. In the north of SA, where the water depth is shallow, many slumps developed and the sedimentation rate is high, it appears great negative difference (as large as -192%). However, to the southeast of SA, where the water depth is deeper, sedimentation rate is relatively low and uplift basement topography exists, it changes to positive difference (as large as +45%). The differences change so great, which haven't been observed in other places of the world. After considering the errors from the process of heat flow measurement, the BSR depth, the relationship of thermal conductivity with the sediments depth, and the fluid flow activities, we conclude that the difference should be not caused by these errors. Such big disagreement may be due to the misunderstanding of BSR. The deviant "BSRs" could represent the paleo-BSRs or just gas-bearing sediment layers, such as unconformities or the specific strata where have different permeability, which are not hydraterelated BSRs.展开更多

Kinetics parameters, N and K, and hydration degree, Ca(OH)2 content, were also calculated and analyzed. According to the experimental results, the induction period was elongated, the second heat evolution peak was in advance, and the third hydration heat peak could be detected due to MSWI fly ash pozzolanic reaction. The hydration reaction rate was controlled by nucleation kinetics in the acceleration period and then by diffusion in the decay period, but in the deceleration period, the hydration experienced a dual controlling reaction of autocatalytic chemical reaction and diffusion. The hydration rate of blended cement was faster. Ca(OH)2 content increased before 14 days.展开更多

In order to evaluate the role of the PCP structure on hydration, the comb-polymer is separated in two main parts: the backbone (PAA) and the dispersing chain. A linear polymer made up of PEO, Mw = 1000, with a carboxylic head suitable to link the inorganic surface, was synthesized to simulate the effect of the dispersing-side chain. The hydration delay of C-S-H formation induced by comb-polymer on CEM I and C3S phase was analyzed by conduction calorimetry and the morphology of the crystalline structure in growth by SEM, specially studying the relation between structure and hydration time. The results show that the hydration delay is mainly ascribable to the comb-shaped structure as a whole, where PEO chain, as from considerations on energy, might assume conformations able to modify the salt concentration near the cement surface. The different hydration rates are tentatively related to the crystal growth and the surface texture observed by SEM.展开更多

Its depth can be used to calculate the seafloor surface heat flow. The calculated BSR heat flow variations include disturbances from two important factors:(1) seafloor topography, which focuses the heat flow over regions of concave topography and defocuses it over regions of convex topography, and(2) the focused warm fluid flow within the accretionary prism coming from depths deeper than BSR. The focused fluid flow can be detected if the contribution of the topography to the BSR heat flow is removed. However, the analytical equation cannot solve the topographic effect at complex seafloor regions. We prove that 3D finite element method can model the topographic effect on the regional background heat flow with high accuracy, which can then be used to correct the topographic effect and obtain the BSR heat flow under the condition of perfectly flat topography. By comparing the corrected BSR heat flow with the regional background heat flow, focused fluid flow regions can be detected that are originally too small and cannot be detected using present-day equipment. This method was successfully applied to the midslope region of northern Cascadia subducting margin. The results suggest that the Cucumber Ridge and its neighboring area are positive heat flow anomalies, about 10%–20% higher than the background heat flow after 3D topographic correction. Moreover, the seismic imaging associated the positive heat flow anomaly areas with seabed fracture–cavity systems. This suggests flow of warm gas-carrying fluids along these high-permeability pathways, which could result in higher gas hydrate concentrations.展开更多

文摘Hydration-heat-inhibiting materials(HIM)with polysaccharide as core material was prepared using microcapsule sustained-releasing technology, through a centrifugal spray granulation process after melting together. The preparation process parameters of HIM were selected by the semi-adiabatic temperature rise test of cement paste.TAM air microcalorimeter was used to investigate the regulation performance of HIM on the hydration of cement. The influence of HIM on the microstructure of cement was investigated by XRD,SEM,and TG-DSC.The results showed that the most suitable wall material for HIM was polyethylene wax,the optimum polyethylene wax/polysaccharide mass ratio was 1,and the most effective particle size was 0.16-0.30 mm.Polysaccharide coated by polyethylene wax released slowly, and the peak heat release rate of cement could be reduced by 55.2%after continuous regulaion. The regulation period continued to 120 h.HIM mainly decreased the C3S reaction rate, which resulted in a 39.2%peak value reduction of hydration heat release rate. However,HIM had little regulation on C3A.The hydration heat release process of cement-based materials can be designed by adjusting the dosage of HIM.
文摘We herein evaluate the use of a chemical heat pump (CHP) for upgrading waste heat. A COP of 1.42 and output of 650 W/L, based on the heat exchanger volume, were obtained using a 600 s change time for the heat pump.

文摘In order to make full use of salt lake magnesium resources and improve the strength of the thermal decomposed magnesium oxychloride cement (TDMOC), the effects of citric acid on the hydration process and mechanical properties of TDMOC was studied. The possible mechanism for the strength enhancement was discussed.

文摘Using the collected 433 heat flow values, we estimated the bases of methane hydrate stability zone (BHSZ), in northern South China Sea (NSCS). The deviant "BSRs" could represent the paleo-BSRs or just gas-bearing sediment layers, such as unconformities or the specific strata where have different permeability, which are not hydraterelated BSRs.

文摘The hydration characteristics by thermal analysis (DTA) were determined, and an isothermal calorimeter (IC) was used to study the pastes. The experimental results indicate: (1) The main hydration products of SSC are C-S-H (I) gel with a low Ca/Si ratio, crystalline Thomsonite-type and AFt-type phases containing certain alkali cations; (2) No phases of the AFm-type and high alkaline Ca (OH)(2) in SSC system could benefit the hydrated cements to improve its strength and durability; (3) Crystalline Thomsonite-type and AFt-type phases containing Na+ will greatly reduce free alkali and alleviate the harmness of alkali aggregate reaction (AAR) in SSC system; (4) Similar to ordinary Portland cement (OPC), the hydration process of SSC could be classified into five stage: initial, induction, acceleration, deceleration and decay; (5) Regardless of the activator used, the apparent activation energy is higher with the increased slag in cement system, and the rising temperature could promote the hydration of SSC.

文摘Hydration heat behavior and kinetics of blended cement containing up to 20% MSWI fly ash were investigated based on its hydration heat evolution rate measured by isothermal calorimeter. Ca(OH)2 content increased before 14 days.

文摘By means of hydration heat, XRD and SEM, effect of phosphorus and fluorine (P205 and F-) in phosphorous slag on hydration process of tricalcium silicate (C3S) and tricalcium aluminate (C3A) was explored. The results indicated that the early hydration exothermic rate of C3S and C3A was obviously lowered by P205 and F- in phosphorous slag, the second peak occurring time of C3A was delayed by 0.9 h, the exothermal output of C3S was reduced by 25.04% and the time of accelerating stage was postponed by 0.86 h. The early hydration degree of C3S and C3A was also decreased. Due to the influence of P205 and F, more pores and thinner crystals can be observed in the microstructure of hardened paste and the chance of cracks was reduced.

文摘Steam mining method was injecting hot steam into the borehole to heat the hydrate strata at the same time of depressurization mining, which could promote further decomposition and expand mining areas of gas hydrate. Steam heat calculation would provide the basis for the design of heating device and the choice of the field test parameters. There were piping heat loss in the process of mining. The heat transfer of steam flowing in the pipe was steady,so the heat loss could be obtained easily by formula calculation. The power of stratum heating should be determined by numerical simulation for the process of heating was dynamic and the equations were usually nonlinear. The selected mining conditions were 500-millimeter mining radius,10 centigrade mining temperature and 180 centigrade steam temperature. Heat loss and best heating power, obtained by formula calculation and numerical simulation, were 21. 35 W/m and 20 kW.
文摘The dehydration and hydration processes of magnesium chloride hydrates were studied by means of frontal chromatography analysis, calorimetry, thermogravimetry and chemical analysis. The mathematical imitation for the adsorption isotherms of MgCl 2·4H 2O and MgCl 2·2H 2O at different temperatures indicates that Boltzmann Function is the ideal equation to describe those adsorption isotherms. Its adsorption heat is -13.06 kJ/mol and -16.11 kJ/mol, respectively. The adsorption equilibrium constants are also given. From the data obtained, there is a thermodynamical possibility to use partial dehydrated magnesium chloride hydrates as an absorbance to clean water vapor contained in bischophite dehydration equipment and let the protection gas HCl recycle in the fluid bed reaction system.
文摘The cement hydration delay is due to comb-polymers (PCP), used as dispersant agent during the preparation of the cement paste. The different hydration rates are tentatively related to the crystal growth and the surface texture observed by SEM.

文摘The bottom-simulating reflector(BSR) is a seismic indicator of the bottom of a gas hydrate stability zone. This suggests flow of warm gas-carrying fluids along these high-permeability pathways, which could result in higher gas hydrate concentrations.
