In this paper, the methodology of system engineering is...The farming-pastoral zone of northern China plays a dual role in ecological conditions and production and occupies an important position in the national economy. In this paper, the methodology of system engineering is introduced to construct and optimize an eco-productive paradigm system for the typical areas of the farming-pastoral zone. The system was constructed in the following steps: (1) design the framework of the paradigm system based on the data of physical site characteristics, biocommunities, production and economy, social culture and historical changes; (2) analyze the vegetation patterns, the interactions between vegetation and environmental factors (natural, social, economic, etc.) and the contributions of vegetation to the area, including the synthesis of the existing researches; and (3) provide the spatial arrangements of ecosystems and planning of each area, raise a comprehensive indicators of evaluation, evaluate the feasibility and soundness, and determine the optimum eco-productive paradigms for policy-makers which were land-use patterns within the threshold of ecological conservation. Three primitive paradigms of Maowusu (Mu Us) Ssandy Land, Loess Plateau and Huailai Basin in the farming-pastoral zone of northern China were proposed according to this paradigm system.展开更多

Case Based Reasoning(CBR)is one of the artificial intelligent methodologies that is widely used in problem solving by reusing the most similar previous experiences stored in the library.A framework of ECO-CBR for Life...Case Based Reasoning(CBR)is one of the artificial intelligent methodologies that is widely used in problem solving by reusing the most similar previous experiences stored in the library.A framework of ECO-CBR for Life Cycle Assessment data collection has been used and the process was carried out using SolidWorks program.The practicality of the tool has been validated using case study,which then provides solution.The output enable researchers to determine forecast error and forecast accuracy,by valuing the calculation from Total Carbon Footprint,Energy Consumption,Air Acidification,and Water Eutrophication.ECO-CBR is able to assist designers in product design.Due to the limitation of environmental impact consideration in product sustainability,there is a demand to propose a tool that can assist designers to reduce environmental impact of product design at early stage.The model works as an essential guideline to lessen repeated mistakes in the product development process and help designers measure the risks before concluding ideal decisions.Minor errors that occur through the study showed that ECO-CBR is reliable to be implemented in order to find a better solution.展开更多
The green environmental laws and regulations are legislated, implemented, and enforced in many countries and economic regions. The provision of green products and services are the fast growing trend in global consumer...The green environmental laws and regulations are legislated, implemented, and enforced in many countries and economic regions. The provision of green products and services are the fast growing trend in global consumer markets. Therefore, introducing new products with environmental considerations becomes critical for global brand manufacturers. This research depicts an integrated and intelligent eco- and inno-product design methodology to support environmental friendly green product development. The methodology adopts approaches, such as life cycle assessment (LCA), quality function deploymnet for environement (QFDE), theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ) and back-propagation network (BPN) to achieve eco- and inno-design objectives. LCA evaluates and compares the environmental impacts of production. QFDE transforms high-level concerns of environment into design requirements. When there are many historical QFDE data, the BPN prediction model is trained and deployed to automate the specifications of green design improvement. TRIZ is to support the creation of innovative product design ideas effectively and efficiently during the concept design stage. Finally, this paper presents two eco-design cases of power adaptor to demonstrate the proposed methodology.展开更多
