With the increasing necessities for reliable printed circuit board(PCB) product, there has been a considerable demand for high speed and high precision vision positioning system. To locate a rectangular lead component with high accuracy and reliability, a new visual positioning method was introduced. Considering the limitations of Ghosal sub-pixel edge detection algorithm, an improved algorithm was proposed, in which Harris corner features were used to coarsely detect the edge points and Zernike moments were adopted to accurately detect the edge points. Besides, two formulas were developed to determine the edge intersections whose sub-pixel coordinates were calculated with bilinear interpolation and conjugate gradient method. The last experimental results show that the proposed method can detect the deflection and offset, and the detection errors are less than 0.04° and 0.02 pixels. 展开更多

Changes in Barents Sea Ice Edge Positions in the Last 442 Years. Part 2: Sun, Moon and Planets

This is the second paper in a series of two, which analyze the position of the Barents Sea ice-edge (BIE) based on a 442-year long dataset to understand its time variations. The data have been collected from ship-logs, polar expeditions, and hunters in addition to airplanes and satellites in recent times. Our main result is that the BIE position alternates between a southern and a northern position followed by Gulf Stream Beats (GSBs) at the occurrence of deep solar minima. We decompose the low frequency BIE position variations in cycles composed of dominant periods which are related to the Jose period of 179 years, indicating planetary forcings. We propose that the mechanism transferring planetary signals into changes in BIE position is the solar wind (SW), which provides magnetic shielding of the Earth in addition to geomagnetic disturbances. Increase in the solar wind produces pressure which decelerates the Earth’s rotation. It also transfers electrical energy to the ring current in the earth’s magnetosphere. This current magnetizes the earth’s solid core and makes it rotate faster. To conserve angular momentum the earth’s outer fluid mantle rotates slower with a delay of about 100 years. In addition will geomagnetic storms, initiated by solar coronal mass ejections (CMEs) penetrate deep in the Earth’s atmosphere and change pressure pattern in the Arctic. This effect is larger during solar minima since the magnetic shielding then is reduced. The Arctic may then experience local warming. The transition of solar activities to a possibly deep and long minimum in the present century may indicate Arctic cooling and the BIE moving south this century. For the North Atlantic region, effects of the BIE expanding southward will have noticeable consequences for the ocean bio-production from about 2040. 展开更多

Constrained by orbital configuration and spectrum sharing,non-geostationary orbit(NGEO)satellites may be interfered when they are in the beam range of geostationary orbit(GEO)satellite.However,it is difficult for NGEO operators to determine the signal source.Herein,we propose a method to locate the GEO signal source and estimate beam features,including beam pointing azimuth,elevation,and beamwidth,by the beam edge positions.We transform this estimation problem into two optimization problems by minimizing the estimation error,and solve both of them through a multi-variable joint iteration method with acceptable computation complexity.Numerical results show that when NGEO satellites pass through the beam twice,the longitude estimation error is about 0.01 degree,and the estimation results will be more and more accurate as the number of passing times increases.Besides,the proposed method is also effective when there are kilometer-level errors in beam edge positions. 展开更多

Imaging spectroradiometer is highly susceptible to noise.Accurately quantitative processing with higher quality is obligatory before any derivative analysis,especially for precision agricultural application.Using the self-developed Pushbroom Imaging Spectrometer(PIS),a wavelet-based threshold(WT)denoising method was proposed for the PIS imaging hyperspectral data.The WT with PIS was evaluated by comparing with other popular denoising methods in pixel scale and in regional scale.Furthermore,WT was validated by chlorophyll concentration retrieval based on red-edge position extraction.The result indicated that the determination coefficient R2 of the chlorophyll concentration inversion model of winter wheat leaves was improved from 0.586 to 0.811.It showed that the developed denoising method allowed effective denoising while maintaining image quality,and presented significant advantages over conventional methods. 展开更多

Layered-type metal phosphates of BaNb_(2-x)Ta_(x)P_(2)O_(11)(x=0,0.5,1.0,1.5,and 2.0)were synthesized using a solid-state reaction method.The photophysical,optical,and photocatalytic hydrogen production properties of the resulting powders were investigated for the first time.Phase-pure and homogeneous powders with irregular morphologies were obtained at a calcination temperature of 1200℃.As the Ta content increased,the interlayer distance along the c-axis increased by up to 0.14%.Additionally,the optical bandgap values increased from 3.32 to 3.59 eV.The energy band positions were estimated from the Mott–Schottky measurements.BaNb_(2)P_(2)O_(11)(x=0)exhibited the lowest conduction band edge position(-0.14 V vs.the normal hydrogen electrode,NHE),which is located above the water reduction potential(0.0 V vs.NHE).In comparison,BaTa_(2)P_(2)O_(11)(x=2.0)exhibited the highest conduction band edge position(-0.29 V vs.NHE),comparable to that of TiO_(2).The photocatalytic activity for hydrogen produced from splitting water was measured under ultraviolet light irradiation.Notably,BaTa_(2)P_(2)O_(11)exhibited the highest activity(7.3μmol/h),which was 15 and 10 times larger than BaNb_(2)P_(2)O_(11)(0.5μmol/h)and nano-TiO_(2)(0.7μmol/h),respectively.The activity of BaTa_(2)P_(2)O_(11)increased to 24.4μmol/h after deposition of the NiO_(x)co-catalyst(1 wt.%),which remained stable during continuous operation(~35 h). 展开更多

The Correlation Clustering Problem(CorCP) is a significant clustering problem based on the similarity of data.It has significant applications in different fields,such as machine learning,biology,and data mining,and many different problems in other areas.In this paper,the Balanced 2-CorCP(B2-CorCP) is introduced and examined,and a new interesting variant of the CorCP is described.The goal of this clustering problem is to partition the vertex set into two clusters with equal size,such that the number of disagreements is minimized.We first present a polynomial time algorithm for the B2-CorCP on M-positive edge dominant graphs(M≥ 3).Then,we provide a series of numerical experiments,and the results show the effectiveness of our algorithm. 展开更多
