Hyperspectral images in remote sensing include hundreds of spectral bands that provide valuable information for accurately identify objects. In this paper,a new method of classifying hyperspectral images using spectral spatial information has been presented. Here, using the hyperspectral signal subspace identification(HYSIME)method which estimates the signal and noise correlation matrix and selects a subset of eigenvalues for the best representation of the signal subspace in order to minimize the mean square error, subsets from the main sample space have been extracted. After subspace extraction with the help of the HYSIME method, the edge-preserving filtering(EPF),and classification of the hyperspectral subspace using a support vector machine(SVM),results were then merged into the decision-making level using majority rule to create the spectral-spatial classifier. The simulation results showed that the spectral-spatial classifier presented leads to significant improvement in the accuracy and validity of the classification of Indiana,Pavia and Salinas hyperspectral images, such that it can classify these images with 98.79%,98.88% and 97.31% accuracy, respectively. 展开更多

Recent years have witnessed the emergence of image decomposition techniques which effectively separate an image into a piecewise smooth base layer and several residual detail layers. However, the intricacy of detail patterns in some cases may result in side-effects including remnant textures, wronglysmoothed edges, and distorted appearance. We introduce a new way to construct an edge-preserving image decomposition with properties of detail smoothing, edge retention, and shape fitting. Our method has three main steps: suppressing highcontrast details via a windowed variation similarity measure, detecting salient edges to produce an edgeguided image, and fitting the original shape using a weighted least squares framework. Experimental results indicate that the proposed approach can appropriately smooth non-edge regions even when textures and structures are similar in scale. The effectiveness of our approach is demonstrated in the contexts of detail manipulation, HDR tone mapping, and image abstraction. 展开更多

Signal and image restoration problems are often solved by minimizing a cost function consisting of an l2 data-fidelity term and a regularization term. We consider a class of convex and edge-preserving regularization functions. In specific, half-quadratic regularization as a fixed-point iteration method is usually employed to solve this problem. The main aim of this paper is to solve the above-described signal and image restoration problems with the half-quadratic regularization technique by making use of the Newton method. At each iteration of the Newton method, the Newton equation is a structured system of linear equations of a symmetric positive definite coefficient matrix, and may be efficiently solved by the preconditioned conjugate gradient method accelerated with the modified block SSOR preconditioner. Our experimental results show that the modified block-SSOR preconditioned conjugate gradient method is feasible and effective for further improving the numerical performance of the half-quadratic regularization approach. 展开更多

Light field cameras have a wide area of applications, such as digital refocusing, scene depth information extraction and 3-D image reconstruction. By recording the energy and direction information of light field, they can well solve many technical problems that cannot be done by conventional cameras. An important feature of light field cameras is that a microlens array is inserted between the sensor and main lens, through which a series of sub-aperture images of different perspectives are formed. Based on this feature and the full-focus image acquisition technique, we propose a light-field optical flow calculation algorithm, which involves both the depth estimation and the occlusion detection and guarantees the edge-preserving property. This algorithm consists of three steps: 1) Computing the dense optical flow field among a group of sub-aperture images;2) Obtaining a robust depth-estimation by initializing the light-filed optical flow using the linear regression approach and detecting occluded areas using the consistency;3) Computing an improved light-field depth map by using the edge-preserving algorithm to realize interpolation optimization. The reliability and high accuracy of the proposed approach is validated by experimental results. 展开更多
