Complementary Functions and Potential of Generative AI in Algorithm Education

In today’s digital era,algorithms have become an indispensable part of our daily lives and work.Algorithm education plays a crucial role in computer science and software engineering,aiming to cultivate students’problem-solving skills and computational thinking.However,traditional algorithm education often requires significant time and efforts from teachers,lacks interactivity,and provides limited examples.The rapid advancement of AI technology,particularly generative models,and large language models(LLMs),has the potential to revolutionize computer education.Models like OpenAI’s GPT-4 and ChatGPT have conversational capabilities and contribute to various aspects of computer education.GPT-3.5,as an assistant in algorithm education,assists teachers in automatically generating explanations and algorithmic examples to enhance students’understanding of algorithms.While existing research has certain limitations,such as focusing on specific scenarios and lacking comprehensive benchmark testing,this paper explores the role of ChatGPT(GPT-3.5)in algorithm education.By refining prompts and evaluating generative capabilities,the study demonstrates that GPT-3.5 holds significant potential as a teaching aid.With an average accuracy of 0.81.GPT-3.5 can generate explanations,code examples,and visualizations of the corresponding algorithms.Other tests including algorithm problem-solving and examples giving also prove the practicability of GPT-3.5 in algorithm education. 展开更多

This paper presents the results of a qualitative research based on a focus group organized within the specializations of Tourism-Services,and Management of FSEAA Brasov,and based on evaluation questionnaires of Management in Tourism courses,organized by SFMT during 2016.In this research,the main features of current graduates(Generation Z born after 1994)were captured,the first generation raised in a digital environment with an online childhood,in relationship with their attitude towards the labor market compared to previous generations(X-born between 1966 and 1976 and Y-Millennials-born between 1977 and 1995),and the need to adapt to the educational system,and the employers’attitude towards these new perspectives,where personal time becomes often more important than the work place.This is a generation of independent people that will change the world!The research has led to conclusions and recommendations at several levels:(1)at a national level-the need to propose some strategies for retaining employment inside the national economy and attracting labor from Diaspora;here an important role can be played within the European funding programs POCU and PNRDP to finance entrepreneurial initiatives;(2)at the employers level-implementing appropriate strategies of attracting and creating loyalty of human resources,of reduction or elimination of seasonality;and(3)at the educational system-strategies to encourage completion of studies at all levels,adapting the system to the needs of new generations,through employers’involvement in the educational process by stimulating the dual vocational education. 展开更多

Analysis shows that 30% energy can be saved from the total energy consumption which translates to a saving of 72 thousand million kWh of energy annually. This survey paper investigates how personalized learning offered by Large Language Models (LLMs) could transform educational experiences. We explore Knowledge Editing Techniques (KME), which guarantee that LLMs maintain current knowledge and are essential for providing accurate and up-to-date information. The datasets analyzed in this article are intended to evaluate LLM performance on educational tasks, such as error correction and question answering. We acknowledge the limitations of LLMs while highlighting their fundamental educational capabilities in writing, math, programming, and reasoning. We also explore two promising system architectures: a Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) framework and a unified LLM approach, for LLM-based education. The MoE approach makes use of specialized LLMs under the direction of a central controller for various subjects. We also discuss the use of LLMs for individualized feedback and their possibility in content creation, including the creation of videos, quizzes, and plans. In our final section, we discuss the difficulties and potential solutions for incorporating LLMs into educational systems, highlighting the importance of factual accuracy, reducing bias, and fostering critical thinking abilities. The purpose of this survey is to show the promise of LLMs as well as the issues that still need to be resolved in order to facilitate their responsible and successful integration into the educational ecosystem. 展开更多

MEEMSAL Theory for an Effective Fight against Insalubrity

Insalubrity is an environmental problem that undermines the living environment as well as the health of populations. The 2016 WHO press release indicated that environmental unsanitary conditions cause 12.6 million deaths per year. This alarming number of deaths is enough to justify the imperative need to fight against any source of insalubrity on a planetary scale. One of the effective strategies for combating any form of insalubrity is the MEEMSAL (an acronym for “Mon Espace d’Evolution Mon SALon”) theory. According to this theory, the eradication of insalubrity and all other forms of anthropogenic pollution must start at school by training learners in eco-citizen education. It is demonstrated in this work that the application of the foundations of the present theory makes it possible to form MEEMSAL generations, some of which will be the future elites and decision-makers of our different nations, which in the long term, will create a healthy environment on a global scale. . 展开更多
