This complex Precambrian basement contains most of the region’s water resources. This is at the origin of the high failure rate during the various hydrogeological prospecting campaigns. Methodology: The database consists of resistivities from 42 holes and 51 trails drilled as part of the implementation of high-throughput drilling in the study area. The objective of this study is to deepen the knowledge of the fissured basement by interpreting profile curves and electrical soundings. It will be a question of classifying the different types of anomalies obtained on the profiles and their shapes. The orientation of the lineaments observed on the profiles was determined. Results: The interpretation of the geophysical data revealed various anomalies, the main ones being of the CC (Conductor Compartment) and CEDP (Contact between two bearings) types. These types of anomalies are mainly expressed in various forms: the “V”, “W” and “U” shapes. From these anomalies and the appearance of the electrical profiles, lineaments and their orientations were identified with N90-100, N130-140, N170-180 as major orientations. Conclusion: These results could contribute to a better understanding of the fractured environment of the Gagnoa region.展开更多

It can be operated on any kind of microcomputer which has an internal memories of more than 512kB.The ESS software package would be leading the office operation to an automatic data processing period and the field work free from the tedious, repeated data treating and mapping, so that the engineers would have more time to analyse and interpret field data. Undoubtedly, it is of benefit to improving the relibility of the geological evaluation.展开更多

Although a variety of techniques have been applied to determine the failure depth, and a number of studies have provided the evidence for the decreasing of failure depth under backfilling, these methods and interactions have not been unequivocally identified. Based on the premise of one possible relation between the failure depth and filling body, which is that the filling materials (gangue) in the gob area can not only restrain the movement of the overlying strata effectively, but also can help to decrease failure depth of the floor in the coal mine. The failure depth in a specific longwall gangue backfilling mine was measured using the mine electricity profiling method. These electrode cables are arranged in a crossheading order to measure the depth and position of the destroyed floor using the DC method. After this, several different methods were used to interpret the recorded data from the field study for gaining failure depth, and the results were compared to the theoretical calculation values. And finally, the authors analyzed the reasons for failure depth form values recorded not indicating a large decrease trend when compared to the theoretical calculation. In this area, it is found that: ① The results using the mine electricity profiling method turns out to be robust and can be used in predicting floor failure depth, and the horizontal position of the maximum destroyed in working face of longwall backfilling. The maximum destroyed position and failure space of the floor can be identified by using this method. ②There is a time-delay processing between the advance of the working face and the failure of floor strata in the mining processing. ③Additionally, based on the data collected from field measurements, which includes three different test electrode spacing approaches (single, double and triple electrode spacing), and the theoretical value from theoretical calculations. The premise mentioned above cannot be supported during the specific field test, and the role of the filling body in the mined area cannot decrease the floor failure depth effectively in comparison to the theory predictions. Basically, the failure depths in the two different methods have similar results and it is possible that there will not be a direct correlation between the filling body and failure depth. ④Although the failure depth cannot decrease effectiveness when using gangue backfilling in the field testing, due to gob gangue, filling materials being able to deliver the abutment pressure from the overburden in most cases, once they were compacted and rammed by the overburden pressure, it still can make the fracture of the gob area clog and be further consolidated. In this way, it is assumed that water-bursting accidents can be prevented effectively under backfill mining. For this reason, gangue backfilling may make a significant contribution to safety mining.展开更多

These are used to make decisions at the national level to meet a countries commitment to CO2 emission targets. However, at a local community level, the guidance is not easily understood by planners. This work presents for the first time a methodology for the generation of realistic domestic electricity load profiles for different types of UK households for small communities. The work is based on a limited set of data, and has been compared with measurement. Daily load profiles from individual dwelling to community can be predicted using this method. Results have been presented, and discussed.展开更多

In this context, these geophysical techniques were conducted to identify the subsurface contents of the landfill, furthermore, specify any possible leakage and/or contamination in the study area. The ground-magnetic survey carried out in the study area comprised 31 profiles each 120 m in length. Different wavelength filters were applied to the measured data. Vertical derivative, downward continuation, apparent susceptibility, band-pass, and analytical signal filters separated successfully the shallow sources. Whereas, upward continuation and low-pass Gaussian filters isolated significantly the deep magnetic sources. 3D Euler deconvolution (SI = 3) remarkably estimated the depths of the shallow sources (0 - 10 m) of the landfill contents. The conducted GPR and dipole-dipole resistivity allocated tangibly the locations and depths of the near surface anomalies. Both techniques didn’t reveal any possible leakage and/or contamination. Noteworthy, integration among magnetic, GPR, and dipole-dipole resistivity confirmed positively the results of each method. Nevertheless, some anomalies were recognized successfully by one technique and not by the others.展开更多

The estimated barrier heights(BH) of as-deposited and 200 ℃ annealed SBDs are 0.80 eV(I-V)/0.93 eV(C-V) and 0.87 eV(I-V)/1.03 eV(C-V). However, the BH rises to 0.99 eV(I-V)/1.18 eV(C-V)and then slightly deceases to 0.92 eV(I-V)/1.03 eV(C-V) after annealing at 300 ℃ and 400 ℃. The utmost BH is attained after annealing at 300 ℃ and thus the optimum annealing for SBD is 300 ℃. By applying Cheung's functions, the series resistance of the SBD is estimated. The BHs estimated by I-V, Cheung's and ΨS-V plot are closely matched; hence the techniques used here are consistency and validity. The interface state density of the as-deposited and annealed contacts are calculated and we found that the NSS decreases up to 300 ℃ annealing and then slightly increases after annealing at 400 ℃. Analysis indicates that ohmic and space charge limited conduction mechanisms are found at low and higher voltages in forward-bias irrespective of annealing temperatures. Our experimental results demonstrate that the Poole-Frenkel emission is leading under the reverse bias of Dy/p-GaN SBD at all annealing temperatures.展开更多
