Even though granulocytlc growth factor, erythropoietin and lymphocytlc growth factor were added at vitor, acute leukemlc celb still showed defects In differentiation and maturation. These were characterized by abnormal colony which consisted of smooth cells, bizarre shape, nuclear-cytoplasmic asynchrony In development, and appearance of nuclear bleb. However, chronic myelogenous leukemlc celb were more nature than the acute ones, manifesting in normal colony with finger- like projections and ruffled membrane. Macrophages and eosinophils could be observed. It b suggested that there b a difference In differentiation between acute and chronic leukemia cells.展开更多

The principal Mn minerals, being vernadite and todorokite, exhibit different electron diffraction patterns and morphological features. According to its morphological feature, todorokite shows three phases: fibrous, lamellar and lath-shaped. Both vernadite and todorokite are authigenic minerals. While vernadite was mainly precipitated directly from the relevant solution by microbiological oxidation, todorokite was separated from the solution chemically without the help of microbe. Hence, these two minerals show a close genetic relation.展开更多

Methods During total hip replacement for osteoarthritis of hip joint in 12 female patients with an average age of 56 years, the femoral heads were procured. After processing the femoral had, specimens were studied under scanning electron microscope. Results Different degrees of osteoarthritic lesions (characterized by degeneration of articular cartilage and hyperplasia of subchondral bone tissues) could coexust with osteoporotic lesions (characterized by icicle-like trabeculae ) in the femoral had. The hyperplas- tic bone tissues of osteoarthritis lay in the vicinity of icicle-like trabeculae. However, they did not care into contact, nor did they exert influence on each other. Coexistence of these two different lesions covered a brood territory extending from the deep surface of subchondral bone plate to the head-neck junction of femoral head. Conclusion The results suggest that osteoarthritis and osteoporosis do coexist in the femoral head.展开更多

Methods Transmission electron microscopic observations of the tissue specimens obtained from endomyocardial biopsies or surgical excisions of left ventricular myocardium or calcified aortic valves were carried out in 50 patients with various cardiovascular diseases. Results The ultrastructural features of apoptosis was consistently observed in cardiomyocytes, fibroblasts, vascular endothelial cells and smooth muscle cells in all diseased tissues. In cardiomyopathies and rheumatic heart diseases apoptosis was commonly observed in the cardiomyocytes. It was often found that fibroblasts underwent apoptosis in calcific aortic valve tissues. Apoptosis of arterial smooth muscle cells was a frequent finding in renal arterial stenosis due to Takayasu's arteritis and fibromuscular dysplasia. Regardless of the cell types, the nuclear hallmarks of apoptosis were identical with minor modifications of the fragmentation of the condensed cells into apoptotic bodies. Conclusions Based on electron microscopic findings, it is suggested that the underlying disease processes determine which type of cells predominantly undergoes apoptotic changes in various cardiovascular disorders. In addition, different cells with similar structural morphology may have common ultrastructural features of apoptosis.展开更多

Then 147Pm is selectively deposited in ultrastructure of liver cells, such as in nucleus, nucleolus, rough endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria and microbodies. Dense tracks also appear in mitochondria and lysosome of pedal cells within renal corpuscle, and so does in nucleus as well as in mitochondria and microbodies of epicyte of kidney near-convoluted tubule. With the prolongation of observing time, 147Pm is selectively and steadily deposited in subcellular level of organic component for bone. Substantial amount of 147Pm is taken up into the nuclear fraction of osteoclasts and osteoblasts. Particularly, in organelles 147Pm is mainly accumulated in rough endoplasmic reticulum and in mitochondria.Autoradiographic tracks especially localize in combined point between Golgi complex and transitive vesicle of rough endoplasmic reticulum. However, despite the medical relevance of HuNoV, effective treatment against norovirus infection is yet to be developed. In this study, we investigated the anti-Noroviral activity of Hibiscus sabdariffa (HS) calyces and Zanthoxylum armatum (ZA) seeds using murine norovirus, a surrogate of human norovirus. The antiviral mechanisms of action were also examined using a gene expression studies and transmission electron microscopy. Our results showed that virus-infected cells were left potentially void of all the cell machineries whereas uninfected cells represent healthy normal and dividing cells. The infected treated cells with extracts showed restoration of the dense cytoplasm, cytoplasmic membrane, and the nucleus. These cells were also associated with the expression of ORF genes. This study demonstrates the antiviral properties of Hibiscus sabdariffa (HS) calyces and Zanthoxylum armatum (ZA) and thus indicates their potential as natural remedies to treat noroviruses.展开更多

Methods: Split thickness rabbit skin was processed into small chips that were cultured in vitro and then subjected to scanning electron microscopic study. Results: The fibroblasts swam out from the skin chips and they increased in number rapidly and became confluent. The cells exhibited squamous configuration, possessing arboreal bifurcation and forming multi layer structure. The fibroblasts then excreted numerous minute granules, heaping up on and around the cells. Thenceforth emerged on the cell surface fine needle like crystals, that agglomerated with the granules to form nodules. The fibroblasts orientated themselves in a radiating pattern around the large nodules. Neighboring nodules could be linked up into trabecular structures. Conclusions: Sequence of events of new bone formation by rabbit dermal fibroblasts cultured in vitro is fully depicted and confirmed.展开更多

文摘The significance of electronic microscopc examination(EM) in the diagnosis of pulmonary neoplasms was evaIuated in 40 cases of Patients with different kinds of Pulmonary neoplasms. In 27 of the 40 cases, final diagnoses were made by light microscope(LM) examination, while in the remaining 13 cases,LM faded to reach definite diagnoses which were established with the help of EM.By analyzing our data,we conclude that in the following situations,EM helps meet in the diagnosis of pulmonary neoplasm:1.diagnosis of neuroendocrinal carcinomas of the lung;2.diagnosis of some rare pulmonary neoplasm;3.documentation of the histologic origins of the matastatic pulmonary neoplasms and 4.differentiation of malignant mesothelioma with pleural metastasis of Pulmonary adenocarcinoma.
文摘Human noroviruses (HuNoV) are the number one cause of viral gastroenteritis worldwide resulting in a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in all age groups. This study demonstrates the antiviral properties of Hibiscus sabdariffa (HS) calyces and Zanthoxylum armatum (ZA) and thus indicates their potential as natural remedies to treat noroviruses.
文摘Objective: To investigate further into the osteogenic potential of rabbit dermal fibroblasts with scanning electron microscope. Conclusions: Sequence of events of new bone formation by rabbit dermal fibroblasts cultured in vitro is fully depicted and confirmed.

文摘This paper examines the effect of the microstructure and electrical conductivity(EC)on the swelling ratio and pressure in red-bed mudstone sampled from arid areas in the Xining region in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau.A series of laboratory tests, including swelling experiments,X-ray diffraction(XRD),and scanning electron microscope(SEM),was carried out for mechanical and microstructural analysis. The coupled influence of the EC and microstructural parameters on the expansion ratio and pressure was investigated, and the weight coefficients were discussed by the entropy weight method. The results revealed an increasing exponential trend in EC,and the maximum swelling speed occurred at an EC of approximately 10 μS/cm.In addition,a method for predicting the expansion potential is proposed based on the microstructure, and its reliability is verified by comparing with swelling experimental results. In addition, according to the image analysis results, the ranges of the change in the clay minerals content(CMC),the fractal dimension(FD),the average diameter(AD)of pores, and the plane porosity(PP)are 23.75%-53%,1.08-1.17,7.53-22.45 mm,and 0.62%-1.25%,respectively.Moreover,mudstone swelling is negatively correlated with the plane porosity, fractal dimension and average diameter and is linearly correlated with the clay mineral content.Furthermore, the weight values prove that the microstructural characteristics, including FD,AD,and PP,are the main factors influencing the expansion properties of red-bed mudstones in the Xining region.Based on the combination of macro and micro-analyses,a quantitative analysis of the swelling process of mudstones can provide a better reference for understanding the mechanism of expansion behavior.
