Two symbol libraries were created. The first one is a set of symbols for description of map orientation (compass roses and north arrows) with correct national (in this case Czech) description. The second one is a set of symbols for description of CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear) threats and another CBRN issues. The TrueType font files are used as symbol libraries in various ESRI products. The font libraries created in this form are easily transferable between various operating systems and GIS programs and also can be easily converted into various different vector graphics formats. The whole process of font creation has taken place under Linux environment. Fortunately main programs used in this process are multiplatform and could be used under Linux, MS Windows and other various computer operating was part of Ubuntu repository and it was obtained free of charge. systems. The author examined differences in the recovery of share price between disclosing and non-disclosing corporations. The results show that the cumulative average abnormal returns (CAARs) of disclosing corporations recovered faster than non-disclosing corporations. Then, the author examined differences in the recovery of share price between developing and non-developing corporations. The results show that there is no statistically significant difference in the recovery of share price between developing and non-developing corporations. Finally, the author examined the differences of BCM between disclosing and non-disclosing corporations. The results suggest that BCM or business continuity plan (BCP) disclosing corporations have a broader coverage of the BCP, more appropriate procedures for responding to emergency situations, more effective training of the BCM, and more mature BCM systems than non-disclosing ones.展开更多

It contains several physical models, especially a module for aerosol behaviour. The goal of this work was to extend COCOSYS for applications in more general geometries mainly for complex public buildings. For the application in public buildings, models for air condition systems and different boundary conditions according to different environments were developed. The principal application of the extended code COCOSYS is in the area of emergency situations especially in the simulation for carbon monoxide and smoke dispersion. As first achievement realistic fire emergency scenarios in the Vienna General Hospital (AKH) could be simulated. The results of the simulation can be used for the development of fire emergency training.展开更多

In Macao, scarce water resources deteriorate rapidly in emergency situations, such as accidental chemical spills upstream of the supply reservoir or salty tides. During these times, only the water from the two freshwater reservoirs in Macao can be used. In this study, we developed urban water management optimization models that integrated the raw water supply from the two reservoirs with various proposed governmental policies (wastewater reuse, rainwater collection, and water saving). We then determined how various water resource strategies would influence the urban water supply in Macao in emergency situations. Our results showed that, without imported raw water, the water supply from only the two Macao reservoirs would last for 7.95 days. However, when all the government policies were included in the model, the supply could be extended to 13.79 days. Out of the three non-conventional water resources, wastewater reuse is the most beneficial for increasing the Macao water supply, and rainwater collection also has great potential.展开更多
