Towards Innovative Research Approaches to Investigating the Role of Emotional Variables in Promoting Language Teachers’ and Learners’ Mental Health

The adequacy of language education largely depends on the favorable and unfavorable emotions that teachers and students experience throughout the education process.Simply said,emotional factors play a key role in improving the quality of language teaching and learning.Furthermore,these emotional factors also promote the well-being of language teachers and learners and place them in a suitable mental condition.In view of the favorable impact of emotional factors on the mental health of language teachers and learners,many educational scholars around the world have studied these factors,their background,and their pedagogical consequences.Nonetheless,the majority of previous studies have employed traditional research methods in assessing these variables and their influences on language teachers’and learners’mental health.Because of the complex and dynamic quality of emotional factors,traditional research approaches often fail to evaluate these factors and their dynamic,non-linear connections with teachers’and learners’mental health and well-being.Accordingly,some novel research approaches are required to measure the dynamicity and complexity of emotional factors in language education settings.To address this call,the current state-of-the-art conceptual article seeks to provide new insights for investigating emotional factors and their potential impact on language teachers’and learners’mental states.This study also intends to offer a comprehensive list of emerging methods that take into account the complex and dynamic nature of emotional variables.Finally,the study outlines the potential implications of this review for educational researchers.

The SSA-BP-based potential threat prediction for aerial target considering commander emotion

The target's threat prediction is an essential procedure for the situation analysis in an aerial defense system.However,the traditional threat prediction methods mostly ignore the effect of commander's emotion.They only predict a target's present threat from the target's features itself,which leads to their poor ability in a complex situation.To aerial targets,this paper proposes a method for its potential threat prediction considering commander emotion(PTP-CE)that uses the Bi-directional LSTM(BiLSTM)network and the backpropagation neural network(BP)optimized by the sparrow search algorithm(SSA).Furthermore,we use the BiLSTM to predict the target's future state from real-time series data,and then adopt the SSA-BP to combine the target's state with the commander's emotion to establish a threat prediction model.Therefore,the target's potential threat level can be obtained by this threat prediction model from the predicted future state and the recognized emotion.The experimental results show that the PTP-CE is efficient for aerial target's state prediction and threat prediction,regardless of commander's emotional effect.

Analysis of the application of a happy leaming method in college English classroom teaching

Emotional teaching is an important part of language teaching. In the teaching activities, teachers should exploit and make full use of students＇ emotional factors to arouse their learning interest and motivation and therefore to improve students＇ English level. The author proposes a teaching concept of happy learning method in college English classroom teaching according to their own teaching practice, the concrete implementation measures of happy learning method include： encourage students to take the group cooperative learning method, establish good emotional communication relations between teachers and encourage students to correct each other by inquiry discussion and so on.
