Jade Collection of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty

During the reign of emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty,the political rule was relatively stable,the economy continued to develop,and both civil and martial situations flourished.The emperor’s love for jade articles made this period a peak in the development of Chinese jade culture.Based on jade articles of emperor Qianlong collected in the Palace Museum and related documents and archives,this paper tries to explore characteristics of this collection and emperor Qianlong’s collecting methods,then explains that this collection not only has the functions of aesthetics,but also has the meaning of morality,religion and politics.

从普遍到特殊的近代日本皇权叙事

近代日本皇权叙事建构了近代日本人对天皇权能及其运作方式的认知,是日本政府决策的心理基础。考察近代日本皇权叙事说服机制的运作,可知其形成之始即存在顺应西方“文明标准”与模仿中华圣王政治的双重文化性说服模式。两种模式分别使用西方与中国的具有普遍性意义的伦理来论证近代天皇制政权的正当性,从而构成一个整体性叙事。但在一战后新历史语境下,两种模式均不能说服民众继续支持日本的侵略战争,于是近代日本皇权叙事转为“八纮一宇”模式,即以“日本固有”特殊性伦理将侵略战争粉饰为“圣战”。而日本政府从“对美英协调主义”到“亚洲门罗主义”的政策转换亦基于上述从普遍转向特殊的皇权认知。

康熙朝太常祭祀乐制建设中乐律的制度化——以《律吕正义》的生成为中心

清王朝建立以后,乐制建设在艰难中缓慢转型。康熙前期,太常祭祀乐制有所创制,如定太常寺乐舞生、定乐器,以及在理学阴阳思想观照下提出对乐律的再讨论。康熙后期,重考乐律,将理学阴阳思想作为康熙十四律的理论支撑,依据精密计算,用字谱、旋宫体现其实践性。《律吕正义》成书以后,康熙迅速将新律用于太常祭祀,并亲定全部雅乐。因此《律吕正义》的诞生标志着帝王意志对乐律的重塑,体现出帝王治世与文化思想的相互呼应,也是“乐律”这一科学性概念的制度化体现。

作为经学式宪制的“大一统”——董仲舒的宪制思想发微

宪制是承载一个文明体的根本大法。作为汉代儒宗的董仲舒,其“大一统”的宪制思想是对周秦巨大变革的回应。与政治意义上的“大一统”不同,经学意义上的“大一统”包含“尊王”与“贬天子”两个内在维度,规范限制君权的“贬天子”实内置于“大一统”的“尊王”维度所蕴含的深意中,此春秋公羊学的宪制精义在后世逐渐被遮蔽。一方面,“贬天子”体现为国家“大一统”宪制的精神根基,董仲舒提出孔子作《春秋》,王者受命于天和阴阳灾异说,接续传承古典“天道宪制”,以道统制约治统;另一方面,“通三统”作用于“大一统”宪制的制度变革,董仲舒以尊天道的王道为本,汲取历史经验和智慧,通过一整套政教制度的设计,将王道的精神渗入政治与社会,从而为汉立法。董仲舒的宪制思想不仅是为汉立法,其接续先秦六经道统,对我们认识现代中国宪制文明的精神底蕴,具有跨时代的思想意义。

Geological Evidence for the Presence of the Emperor Event in China

The presence of the reversals of the geomagnetic field within the Brunhes is indicated by paleomagnetic stuides on Cenozoic volcanic rocks in the Leizhou Peninsula, loess strata and Quaternary marine sediments in the Pearl River Mouth basin in China. These regional reversals occured at 0.58±0.13 Ma, 0.45 Ma and 0.47—0.48 Ma respectively according to the results of K-Ar isotopic dating and climatostratigraphic and biostratigraphic analyses. The reversals equivalent to the Emperor Event is suggested.The reversals revealed in different regions with various lithologic characters in China prove that the Emperor Event is a global reversal event rather than a geomagnetic excursion, and its confirmation will permit a precise definition of the Middle/Late Pleistocene boundary.

A Novel Binary Emperor Penguin Optimizer for Feature Selection Tasks

Nowadays,due to the increase in information resources,the number of parameters and complexity of feature vectors increases.Optimizationmethods offermore practical solutions instead of exact solutions for the solution of this problem.The Emperor PenguinOptimizer(EPO)is one of the highest performing meta-heuristic algorithms of recent times that imposed the gathering behavior of emperor penguins.It shows the superiority of its performance over a wide range of optimization problems thanks to its equal chance to each penguin and its fast convergence features.Although traditional EPO overcomes the optimization problems in continuous search space,many problems today shift to the binary search space.Therefore,in this study,using the power of traditional EPO,binary EPO(BEPO)is presented for the effective solution of binary-nature problems.BEPO algorithm uses binary search space instead of searching solutions like conventional EPO algorithm in continuous search space.For this purpose,the sigmoidal functions are preferred in determining the emperor positions.In addition,the boundaries of the search space remain constant by choosing binary operators.BEPO’s performance is evaluated over twenty-nine benchmarking functions.Statistical evaluations are made to reveal the superiority of the BEPO algorithm.In addition,the performance of the BEPO algorithm was evaluated for the binary feature selection problem.The experimental results reveal that the BEPO algorithm outperforms the existing binary meta-heuristic algorithms in both tasks.

A Study Into Marketing Strategies for Promoting Cultural and Creative Products of Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum in New Era

China’s booming economy and the growing demand of urban middle class are creating a favorable situation for the development of domestic cultural and creative industry.The consumption pattern has changed and families spend more outlay on cultural products and services.Within this flourishing industry,many museums caught development opportunities and began to get profit through successfully promoting their own cultural and creative products.However,it is unusual that Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum,enjoying high social status and a reputation for world cultural heritage as well as a national 5A level tourist attraction,regretfully,did not achieve noticeable achievements in this area.Therefore,based on STP theory,the purpose of this paper is to study the reasons why this museum fails to fulfill its potential in promising cultural and creative industry and give some suggestions to the development and promotion of its cultural and creative goods.

Reception of Translated Classics of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Spanish-speaking World:A Survey of Seven Spanish Versions of Huangdi Neijing(The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic)

Previous studies on translations of Huangdi Neijing(The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic)have focused on English versions;little attention has been given to non-English translations.The present study is the first investigation of the reception of the seven Spanish versions of Huangdi Neijing in terms of three parameters:collection records in libraries worldwide;book reviews and citation counts in international journals;and customer reviews on Amazon.The results revealed four features of Spanish translations and communication of Huangdi Neijing in terms of reception of academia,reception of general readers,the center of translation and communication,and the role of Chinese scholars.These factors demonstrate the marginal status of Spanish translations of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)classics.The implications are summarized in hopes of promoting the translation and communication of TCM classics in the Spanish-speaking world and to provide insights into the communication of TCM culture in the non-English-speaking world.

The coronavirus disease-19(COVID-19)pandemic has been a wake-up call in which has forced us to react worldwide.Health policies and practices have attracted particular attention in terms of human and financial cost.Before COVID-19,chronic kidney disease was already considered a risk multiplier in patients with diabetes and hypertension,the two now being the major risk factors for COVID-19 infection and adverse outcome.In contrast to the urgent need for action,the nephrology field is considered to be in a state of stagnation regarding the management of chronic kidney disease patients who still experience unacceptably high morbidity and mortality.Ironically and paradoxically in a field lacking robust clinical trials,clinical practice is driven by guidelines-based medicine on weak evidence.The Emperor’s syndrome,referring to Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale,has been described in medicine as voluntary blindness to an obvious truth,being a weak evidence-based therapeutic intervention or weak health care.A promising positive example of improving heart and kidney outcomes is the emerging treatment with sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors.COVID-19 could boost actions for patient-centered care as a positive shift in nephrology care.
