Individualized music for dementia:Evolution and application of evidence-based protocol

The theory-based intervention of individualized music has been evaluated clinically and empirically leading to advancement and refinement of an evidence-based protocol, currently in its 5th edition. An expanded version of the protocol was written for professional health care providers with a consumer version tailored for family caregivers. The underlying mid-range theory is presented along with a seminal study that was followed by further research in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, France, Sweden, Norway, Japan and Taiwan. Key studies are summarized. Given its efficacy when implemented by research staff, studies have advanced to testing the intervention under real-life conditions when implemented and evaluated by trained nursing assistants in long-term care facilities and visiting family members. In addition, one study evaluated the implementation of music by family members in the home setting. Initial research focused on agitation as the dependent variable with subsequent research indicating a more holistic response such as positive affect, expressed satisfaction, and meaningful interaction with others. The article advances by describing on-line programs designed to train health care professionals in the assessment, implementation and evaluation of individualized music. In addition, Gerdner has written a story for apicture book intended for children and their families(in press). The story models principles of individualized music to elicit positive memories, reduce anxiety and agitation, and promote communication. The article concludes with implications for future research.

The Impact of Spiritual Leadership on Employee’s Work Engagement--A Study Based on the Mediating Effect of Goal Self-Concordance and Self-Efficacy

The average stress of people in China’s workplace is reaching the peak in recent two years.To improve employee’s positive psychological factors,Spiritual leadership has a good performance in this regard.Based on the mediating effect of goal self-concordance and self-efficacy,this paper further studies the impact of spiritual leadership on employee’s work engagement.Through the empirical study,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Spiritual leadership significantly positively affects the employee’s work engagement.(2)Spiritual leadership has a significant positive effect on goal self-concordance and self-efficacy.(3)Goal self-concordance and self-efficacy have significant positive effects on employee’s work engagement.(4)Goal self-concordance and self-efficacy play a partial mediating role in the process of spiritual leadership’s impact on employees’work engagement.This study found the new mediator which partly revealed the mechanism between the effectiveness of Spiritual Leadership and employee’s work engagement.This study may serve as one of the researches for improving the effectiveness of leaders in organizations and promoting the motivation of employees in the workplace.

Timing of individualized surgical intervention in Crohn’s disease

Crohn’s disease(CD)is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the gastrointestinal tract with an increasing incidence worldwide.Comprehensive therapy for CD focuses on symptom control and healing the intestinal mucosa to improve the quality of life and prevent complications.Surgical intervention plays a vital role in comprehensive therapy.However,deciding the optimal timing for surgical intervention has long been a focus of controversy.This review provides insights into the timing of surgery for CD and guides clinicians in daily treatment.

Identification of Microplankton in South China Sea with Image-Matching Individual PCR

In this study, marine microplankton were identified by combining standard light microscopy with Sanger 18S rRNA gene sequencing. The image-matching individual PCR technique was applied to identify the image collectable unicellular microplankton to genera. Instead of pure strain culture and morphological identification, microplankton individual cells were isolated and fixed with glutaraldehyde, frozen and stored for months. Finally, they were imaged under a microscope and molecularly identified via phylogenetic analysis of their 18S ribosomal RNA gene(18S rDNA). Microplankton cells were collected at 30 locations in South China Sea, and were assigned to 21 known and 4 unidentified genera(2 uncultured fungi and 2 uncultured stramenopiles) with phylogenetic analysis in parallel to the morphological identification.

Ethics and Integrity in Building Employee＇s Perceptions

Malaysia has long been involved in the initiative of becoming a high income country by the year 2020. In this essence, fighting and eliminating any means of corruption in the public and private companies have been one of the key challenges in the long run. The globalization of businesses has somehow led to an increase in the number of unethical conduct and hazardous corruption. In the urge to enliven ethics and integrity in a company and among employees, the whole business processes and stakeholders should position code of ethics and integrity at its highest standard. However, can ethics and integrity really increase the company＇s reputation, strengthening its business operations and sustainability, and deliver trust amongst employees and employers？ The objective of this study is to analyze the perceptions of employees on issues pertaining ethics and integrity. The study has been conducted in one of the giant telecommunication companies in Malaysia where a sample of 7,056 employees were the participants involved in the survey. The study has used questionnaires to collect data. The data have then been analysed using the SPSS data analysis software. The findings explained that employees view the company as an ethical place to work where the finance department is deemed to have the highest level of integrity. While in matters of corruption risk areas, there are still practices of bribery. It is also founded that a majority of respondents about 93% agree that the company＇s initiatives are effective in building business integrity and that the level of business ethics and integrity has improved over the last two years. Running a business with ethics and integrity while selecting the fight business partners will create a corporation of ethics, integrity, and anti-corruption.

Understanding the individual with Alzheimer’s disease: Can socioemotional selectivity theory guide us?

Individuals often get lost behind the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) while widespread differences between these patients are morecommon than similarities. Socioemotional Selectivity Theory (SST) suggests that as we age our goals change from future-oriented (acquiringnew information) to present-oriented (enhancing the emotional, especially positive, meaning of encounters). The goal of the current article is to examine whether the principles of SST might also apply for people with AD. Some aspects of SST are found especially in the early stages of AD when awareness is often intact and cognitive impairment is relatively limited. This review has clinical significance for the treatment of AD because it focuses on what is important to the individual rather than treating patients as a homogenous group. It also highlights the importance of social networks and emphasizes the role of the proxy in AD care. Lastly, it suggests that if those with AD (like the healthy elderly) have a positivity bias then positive emotional stimuli/wording/instructions could usefully be employed in their daily treatment. I suggest that SST may be a useful starting point when attempting to address what matters to individuals with AD and conclude by providing a few suggestions for future studies.

Application Research of Ingroup Preference in Employee Relationship Management

With stepwise development of Chinese enterprise,management problem is increasingly prominent,especially human resource management issues. Facing international environment of entering into World Trade Organization,the country accelerates construction pace of human resource management subject in colleges and universities,which provides professional channel for management efficiency and market competition ability of Chinese enterprise,but it is still far from practice. In this paper,the concept,origin and inhibition factors of ingroup preference are elaborated. Based on the visual angle of ingroup preference,started from four dimensions( enterprise incentive system,talent management idea,psychological contract and employee communication consciousness),main problems existing in employee relationship management of modern enterprise are explored. It is specially emphasized that manager often holds the blame in front of dealing with the crisis after contradiction,which is " fatal point" neglected in employee relationship management of modern enterprise. To improve its core competitive power,enterprise must value harmonious relationship with employees.

Should Employees Who Moonlight Be Fired?

A lawsuit in Dalian, acity in northeast China’s Liaoning Province, caught the public’s attention at the end of 2018. Xu Yong, a technician working for an auto repair company, sued his company after being fired for violating the company’s regulations by having a job on the side.The court ruled against the company for having no evidence that Xu was moonlighting and undermining company interests.

Analysis on the Individual Discrepancy in English Teaching

Recently, a great tide of English teaching reform swept across China, advocating the innovation of educational concept and teaching mode. However, the phenomenon of rigid uniformity in teaching process is still commonly seen, neglecting the individual discrepancy of students. The individual discrepancy is manifested by both the congenital heredity and the acquired disposition. Supported by the Chinese traditional theory of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude and Vygotsky's "the zone of proximal development" theory, this paper illustrates the importance of paying attention to the individual discrepancy from the perspective of students' growing background and personality. In addition, standing on the point of view of relevant authority and English teacher, the author tries to put forward some countermeasures.

The Birth of Modern Poetry:Tradition and Individual Talent——An Understanding of T. S. Eliot's Critical Essay‘Tradition and Individual Talent'in comparison with Nietzsche's Spirits of Tragedy

As one of the most significant critical essays of T.S.Eliot,Tradition and Individual Talent has defined writing as a process during which the primitive oneness has seized the individual writer of figurative descriptions to help represent itself.This theory has latter been practiced in Eliot’s Wasteland,and shows its similarity with The Birth of Tragedy,written by Friedrick Nietzsche,the German philosopher.Eliot’s‘tradition’has been concluded by Nietzsche as‘Dionysian Spirit’,which represents oneness transcending good and evil,past and present,while‘individual talent’has resembled‘Apollonian Spirit’in the urge for original figuration as an apparatus.The paper aims to explain and compare the definitions of‘tradition’and‘individual talent’of Eliot’s work with that of‘Dionysian spirit’and‘Apollonian Spirit’in Nietzsche’s illustrations,so as to provide a deeper understanding of these two works by unveiling the individual and social sameness and difference of Eliot and Nietzsche.

Teacher's in-Class Feedback Based on Individual Learner Differences in EFL Writing Classroom

Studies on feedback in second language(L2) writing have mainly focused on feedback per se, with little attention paid tothe individual learner differences. This study investigates how teacher’s in-class feedback based on individual learner differencesaffects EFL students’correction of writings and students’attitude towards teacher’s in-class feedback based on their individualdifference, as well as the factors that influence teachers’feedback among three EFL students and an in-service English teacher byemploying interviews, classroom observations. The findings indicate that students pay more attention to their errors in their writingsand students hold a positive attitude towards teacher’s in-class feedback based on their individual differences, students’aptitudeand personality mostly affect teacher’s in-class feedback.

The Effects of Learner’s Individual Differences on the Written Corrective Feedback

From the perspective of individual learner differences,this paper aims to show the readers an outline of the influence of individual learner differences on written corrective feedback.Based on 200 eighth and ninth grade junior high school students’thinking patterns and tests,60 students were selected as subjects in this study.Based on the comparative analysis and error analysis in second language acquisition as the main theoretical basis,this study analyzed the common types of errors in the use of nonpredicate verbs in junior high school students and their causes.There are three main questions in this study:how about the error frequency of the five forms(present participle,past participle,infinitive,gerund and independent nominative structure)in the nonpredicate verb learning of junior high school students?What kind of mistakes do junior high school students make in the process of learning non-predicate verbs?According to the conclusion of the investigation and research,the author puts forward some suggestions from the aspects of teachers and students in the last part of the article.

智力障碍儿童音位/s/构音矫正的个案研究

目的探究音位/s/治疗方案的效果,为特殊儿童音位/s/构音障碍的康复提供参考。方法用系统的构音康复训练方法,包括听觉识别训练、音位对比-诱导-习得训练、声韵组合训练及音位强化训练对患儿进行构音矫正,使用构音障碍测量与康复训练仪比较患儿治疗前后口部感觉运动功能和音位/s/构音正确率。结果经过2周个别化训练,患儿的口部感觉运动功能总分由76.83%提升至92.68%,其中口部感觉评分由75%提升至96.88%,下颌运动功能评分由61.11%提升至77.78%,舌运动功能评分由75%提升至95.31%;/s/单音节构音正确率由0提升至71.43%。结论虽然智障儿童的语言理解和学习能力落后,但是通过个性化康复治疗,可以有效提升患儿的口部感觉运动功能,改善/s/的构音清晰度。

扬长避短:优势使用视角下知识异质性对越轨创新的影响机制研究

有效利用员工优势资源提高竞争力是企业关注的重点,但目前对于如何有效化解组织内非协同性导致的认知冲突尚未给予关注。鉴于此,关注知识异质性的双重属性,结合个体优势使用理论,通过问卷调查的形式收集到381份问卷数据,实证分析知识异质性对越轨创新影响过程中员工优势使用的中介作用以及领导权变激励的边界条件。结果表明:(1)知识异质性能够对越轨创新产生积极影响;(2)员工优势使用在知识异质性与越轨创新之间具有部分中介作用,即知识异质性可以促进员工的优势使用,进而对越轨创新产生积极影响;(3)领导权变激励会强化员工优势使用与越轨创新之间的正向关系,同时正向调节知识异质性通过员工优势使用影响越轨创新的间接效应。据此,提出企业应重视和开发知识异质性员工的价值、重视员工优势的开发,并采取及时有效的领导激励,以充分利用员工差异化知识储备、将员工自身优势转化为创新性成果,使企业能够长期保持核心竞争优势。

双元工作压力情境下如何促进员工产生创新行为--基于模糊集的定性比较分析

基于组态视角与个人—环境匹配理论,以152名企业员工为研究对象,运用CiteSpace和fsQCA方法对企业中促进员工产生创新行为的影响因素进行组态分析。探究不同压力情境下变革型领导、知识共享和心理授权在员工创新行为产生过程中的差异机制。结果表明,当员工感知的压力为挑战性压力且非阻碍性压力时,企业管理者应采用变革型领导的方式,并且鼓励员工之间知识共享;当员工既感知到挑战性压力又感知到阻碍性压力时,企业管理者应采用变革型领导的方式,并且提高员工的心理授权。

基于SET理论的知识型员工敬业度、工作能力与绩效关系研究

以京、穗、深、沪、晋五大城市的外资、国有、民营三种性质企业的知识型员工为样本,以知识型员工激励因素为自变量、以敬业度为中介变量引入个人绩效为因变量,把工作能力作为敬业度和个人绩效的调节变量,假设并验证知识型员工敬业度与绩效模型,从而定量地探讨激励知识型员工高敬业工作的原因,并对企业提出有效的人力资源应对策略。

北京沙尘暴的干盐湖盐渍土源——单颗粒物分析和XPS表面结构分析

2002年3月20日北京特大沙尘暴565个单颗粒物分析结果表明,S和Cl是唯一呈现显著正相关的一对元素.同时含有S和Cl的单颗粒物检出率高达82.5%,其中S和Cl的含量还高于所有颗粒物平均值.同时含有S、Cl和Na的颗粒物检出率为62.0%,其中Na的含量更比所有颗粒物平均值高出1.4倍.PMF因子分析显示NaCl和Na2SO4是北京沙尘暴S和Cl显著相关的那些单颗粒物的主要成分.沙尘暴样品中SO42-和Cl-浓度呈高度线性相关.X射线光电子谱对气溶胶表面结构分析显示,Na和S在沙尘暴颗粒物表面的百分含量比北京非沙尘暴和内蒙古地区气溶胶样品高.这些同时含有S、Cl和Na,且S和Cl显著正相关,Na相对富集的颗粒物多数来自于沙尘暴途中所经过的其表层土成分富含氯化物和硫酸盐的干盐湖盐渍土地区.证明了北京沙尘暴不仅来自于其源头沙漠,沙尘暴所经过的包括干盐湖盐渍土的大范围干旱、半干旱地区的表层土也是其主要来源.

基于B/S模式的医学影像学网络化教学平台的设计

为实现医学影像归档与通信系统在医学影像学教学上的应用,本文采用B/S模式及模块化结构设计方法,构建了一个医学影像学网络化教学平台,在.net平台下,运用C#编程及SQL Server数据库管理等计算机技术,使服务器端与客户端的交互式连接,完成了在线浏览学习、自我检测、素材管理和公共讨论等功能。该设计为医学影像学教学提供了一种互动、自主、不受时空限制的全新教学模式,改善了教学效果,提高了教学质量。

基于B/S模式的煤炭企业员工绩效管理系统的设计与实现

随着人力资源的发展,当前优秀煤矿企业对绩效管理非常重视,其员工绩效管理系统指标体系具有很强的可操作性,也比较成熟。而随着网络信息技术的发展,基于B/S模式的煤炭企业员工绩效管理系统成为开发研究的热点。本文首先概述了员工绩效管理系统与绩效考核指标设计,提出了基于B/S模式的煤炭企业员工绩效管理系统的设计目标与业务规划,然后设计与测试了基于B/S模式的煤炭企业员工绩效管理系统。
