Conduction pathways of resource endowment affecting carbon intensity:Based on interprovincial data in China

By establishing a mathematical model and a basic analytical framework for the impact of resource endowments on carbon intensity,a traditional panel model without spatial panel effects was firstly constructed,a Durbin-Wu-Hausman test was conducted,and the model was set as a fixed-effects model based on the statistical values;secondly,the traditional panel model without spatial effects was estimated,and LM tests and robustness tests were conducted on the regression residuals.The LM test was then used to remove the fixed effect terms by the de-meaning method,and the Matlab 7.0 software was used to estimate the model.The stepwise introduction of variables was used to observe the effect of each variable on economic growth and to analyze the relationship between the magnitude and significance of the regression parameters of each variable.Finally,the path of conduction effect of resource endowment through mediating variable sinfluencing economic growth and carbon emissions,and thus carbon intensity,was constructed.The conclusion is that carbon intensity is inversely proportional to economic growth for a given level of carbon emissions.Therefore,if resource endowment promotes economic growth through mediating variables,it will lead to a decrease in carbon intensity,which is conducive to the achievement of emission reduction targets;conversely,if resource endowment hinders economic growth through mediating variables,it will lead to an increase in carbon intensity,which is not conducive to the achievement of emission reduction targets.

Analysis on the Optimization of New Rural Social Endowment Insurance in Changsha,Zhuzhou and Xiangtan

On the basis of the investigation on the status quo of pilot area of rural endowment insurance in Changsha,Zhuzhou and Xiangtan,farmers' demand on insuance in the new pilot area of rural endowment insurance is expounded from two aspects:farmers' awareness on insurance is increasing gradually;farmers' ability on insuring is increasing.The growing demand of farmers on insuring and the conflicts between the supply of rural endowment insurance and the system construction are analyzed.The problems are inadequate input of funds,low level of social security;imperfect fund-collecting mechanism,serious vacancy;low level of fund management and operation,poor ability of inflation-proofing and appreciation;backward laws and regulations and instability of system.On the strength of the analysis above,the government should innovate and compound fund-collecting mechanism;establish "G-C-F" three-pillar model and set up "BSI" the third party custodian;accelerate the legislation of new rural pension system so as to push forward the optimization of new rural pension insurance system in Changsha,Zhuzhou and Xiangtan.

Farmers' Land Transfer-out Behavior from the Perspective of Household Livelihood Endowment Based on the Survey in Anhui,Hubei and Sichuan

Based on the household livelihood endowment theory and the survey of 367 farmer households in Anhui,Hubei,and Sichuan in 2016,and using the orderly multi-category logistic model,the behavioral decision of farmers in the land circulation was discussed to explore the key parameters influencing the land transfer-out. It found that decisions of farmers on land transfer-out behavior are affected by many factors.Specifically,household non-agricultural income and per capita land area significantly reduce farmers' willingness to transfer land,while the household head age,agricultural input-output ratio,and confirmation of land right significantly promote the farmers' decision on land transferout. Therefore,increasing the allocation efficiency of household livelihood endowment has important policy value and practical significance for eliminating unreasonable land circulation and promoting large-scale agricultural production.

Gardaneh Salavat porphyry copper system: Is it about metal endowment or fertility of the porphyritic intrusion?

Gardaneh Salavat porphyry copper system is located in the northwest of Iran. It comprises a quartz diorite to diorite porphyritic intrusion that created extensive alteration haloes in the host rocks. Despite all technical considerations, the exploration activities did not yield to ore discovery. As the matter of fact, all of the geological,geophysical, and geochemical characteristics of a porphyry Cu-Au deposit exist but there is no economic mineralization. Detailed examinations suggest that the only reasonable explanation can be related to the infertility or low metal endowment of the porphyritic intrusion. The reasons include(1) anomalous ranges of Cu, Au, and Mo rather than economic ore grades,(2) weakly development of potassic alteration,(3) probably sulfur saturation of magma that occurred before intrusion emplacement in the host rocks, and(4) probably low metal endowment in the regional scale and the lack of known porphyry copper deposits in close neighborhoods. It is tried to test the proposed hypothesis with the introduced fertility indicators based on major and trace element geochemistry. However,current fertility indicators could not prove or reject the proposed hypothesis for Gardaneh Salavat porphyritic intrusion because of the high-K calc-alkaline to shoshonitic nature of the intrusive rocks together with the unavailability of relatively fresh/unaltered samples. This case study is notable to examine because(1) it shows that characterization of fertile from barren intrusions seems to be as important as vectoring towards concealed porphyry copper deposits, especially while dealing with deep exploration targets that are associated with high financial risks, and(2) it highlights the inefficiencies and uncertainties in introduced magma fertility indicators for porphyry copper intrusions. As a result, it is of high importance to conduct an overarching investigation on other possible fertility indicators as a fundamental need for the future of the exploration industry.

Analysis on Endowment of Empty Nesters in Tulu Village of Hunchun City in Jilin Province

with expansion of rural empty nesters,endowment of empty nesters has become a hot spot of the society. By means of questionnaire survey and interview,this paper analyzed basic situations of empty nesters in Tulu Village of Hunchun City in Jilin Province,including economic level,physical health,life care,and spirit situations. Next,it discussed major problems in endowment problem of empty nesters,including limited economic support,unoptimistic physical health,low ability of life care,and feeling of loneliness. Finally,it came up with pertinent recommendations on the basis of the analysis,including strengthening family endowment ability and improving socialized endowment service,strengthening practical living ability,improving life care ability with family endowment as primary and community endowment as auxiliary part,and expanding amusement and recreation ways of empty nesters.

Constructing Index System for Evaluating Work Level in Rural Endowment Insurance

This paper used fuzzy math principles, analyzed different aspects of the work of the current rural endowment insurance and formed the indices to assess the work level of the rural endowment insurance. After selecting the indices of the work level scientificly, constructed the index system to evaluate the work level of the rural endowment insurance and the index system was expressed in the form of math equation. In this way, an objective standard used to evaluate the work level of rural endowment insurance was establised.

Current Situation and Demand of Rural Endowment Security in Shaanxi Province

With intensification of population aging and rise in elderly dependency ratio,the demand for endowment security becomes higher and higher,particularly in rural areas.Taking Shaanxi Province as an example,the authors selected people older than 65 in 18 natural villages in north Shaanxi,south Shaanxi and Guanzhong.With the aid of survey data and related official statistical data,they made an evaluation of current situation of the rural endowment security in Shaanxi Province.Results indicate that home-based endowment is the major endowment method of rural elderly,but such method is influenced by family's economic support ability and children's support willingness,thus facing big demand gap.On the basis of analyzing gap problem,the authors recommended that government should increase financial and policy supports,optimize management and monitoring,actively develop non-government organizations,and promote socialization of rural endowment service.

Exploration of Living Modes for Small-scale Community Endowment

The aging and the urban development bring a great challenge to the residential facilities of the elderly community. By exploring the layout and current situation of the elderly residential facilities in Chengdu City, this paper stressed the key points in the layout of various facilities at the macro scale. Through the deep investigation of residential districts, the paper explored the community endowment mode that is between the organization support and home-based care for the aged, and proposed 3 modes on the basis of "visiting, day care and short-stay". Considering the specific needs of the aged and the compound modes, compound community endowment mode was put forward as the future development direction of community endowment to contribute to the construction of the overall social endowment system.

Relationship between Economic Development,Resource Endowment and Soybean Export Dependability

The dependability of world major soybean exporters was measured and its influencing factors were analyzed through constructing the export output elasticity indicator.It was found that since 2010,among the world major soybean exporters,the dependability of Brazil,India,Russia and Ukraine increased,the dependability of Argentina and Paraguay dropped,while that of Canada,the USA and Uruguay was basically stable.Among the influencing factors of the dependability,the increase in international soybean prices and abundance of cultivated land resources are helpful for increasing the dependability,while the increase of population and improvement of economic development will reduce the dependability.China should reduce its dependence on countries with low export dependability,and actively develop production cooperation with import source countries to promote their dependability.

Research on the moderation of endowment insurance in Shanghai

Old-age insurance is related to the quality of life of the elderly population in a country or region after retirement, the impact of economic crisis and the aggravation of the population aging crisis, so that the appropriateness of the level of old-age insurance has been paid more and more attention by the society. At present, the academic research on the appropriate level of endowment insurance is still at an exploratory stage. Most scholars mainly study the endowment insurance from the qualitative point of view, but lack quantitative analysis of the level of endowment insurance. Pension expenditure must be in line with the level of national productivity development and various aspects of affordability. Shanghai is the fastest growing city in China and the earliest city in China to enter an aging society. It is of typical significance to study the appropriateness of the endowment insurance level in Shanghai.

An Empirical Study on the Effects of Social Endowment Insurance Reform in China

Comparative Analysis on Policy Realization of Old and New Rural Social Endowment Insurance System

Based on the perspective of"political potential"and"incentive mechanism",this paper compares the different effects of the old rural social endowment insurance system and the new rural social endowment insurance system,so as to explain the policy realization degree of the old and new rural social endowment insurance system.According to the analysis,the new rural social endowment insurance system has greatly improved the implementation of policies,the implementation of policies,the overall planning ability between departments,and the enthusiasm of individual farmers to participate in the insurance.Compared with the old rural social endowment insurance system,the policy realization ability of the new rural social endowment insurance system has been significantly enhanced,and the effect of the policy realization has been significantly improved.

Urban development and resource endowments shape natural resource utilization efficiency in Chinese cities

Improving the efficiency with which natural resources are utilized is an indispensable for achieving sustainable development and carbon neutrality. By analyzing the utilization efficiency of energy, water, and land, we established a comprehensive natural resource utilization efficiency index(NRUEI). We then calculated the 2016 index for 165 cities in China,and investigated what caused it to vary. We found three main results:(1) the NRUEI varied greatly across China and there were significant positive correlations between urban energy utilization efficiency(EUE), water utilization efficiency(WUE) and land utilization efficiency(LUE);(2) the NRUEI showed a significant positive correlation with a city’s population size,economy(Gross Domestic Product(GDP)), and the level of urban social development(GDP per capita);(3) cities in East China have the highest natural resource utilization efficiency,while cities in Northeast China have the lowest. These results indicate that China’s increasing urban development is associated with rising natural resource utilization efficiency and that the city’s endowment of natural resources is an important factor affecting that efficiency. Further, the results showed that the determinants of a city’s NRUEI differed in large and small cities. Lastly, our results suggest that improving EUE is key for improving NRUEI in urban China, and different efficiencies can be improved intertwined. A major takeaway of this study is that there is great potential for improving natural resource utilization efficiency in Chinese cities and we include city-specific suggestions for efficiency improvements.

Corporate Endowment Insurance Fee Reduction and Employee Wages:Evidence from China

To stimulate economic growth,the Chinese government implemented three consecutive policies between 2016 and 2019 to reduce the corporate endowment insurance contribution ratio(CEICR),the highest payment item for Chinese companies.Using China's CEICR reduction policies as a quasi-natural experiment,this paper evaluates the impact of corporate payment burden reduction on employee wages.Generally,reducing CEICR appears to prompt companies to increase employee wages.Corporate cash flow is a possible channel of influence.Moreover,the positive effect is found to be more pronounced in companies that are more labor intensive,performing better in labor payment compliance,and located in regions with higher pressure for elderly care.This paper offers evidence in favor of implementing CEICR reduction policies from the perspective of improving the well-being of employees.

Characterizing China＇s energy consumption with selective economic factors and energy-resource endowment： a spatial econometric approach

Coupled with intricate regional interactions, the provincial disparity of energy-resource endowment and other economic conditions in China have created spatially complex energy consumption patterns that require analyses beyond the traditional ones. To distill the spatial effect out of the resource and economic factors on China＇s energy consumption, this study recast the traditional econometric model in a spatial context. Several analytic steps were taken to reveal different aspects of the issue. Per capita energy consumption （AVEC） at the provincial level was first mapped to reveal spatial clusters of high energy consumption being located in either well developed or energy resourceful regions. This visual spatial autocorrela- tion pattern of AVEC was quantitatively tested to confirm its existence among Chinese provinces. A Moran scatter- plot was employed to further display a relatively centralized trend occurring in those provinces that had parallel AVEC, revealing a spatial structure with attraction among high-high or low-low regions and repellency among high-low or low-high regions. By a comparison between the ordinary least square （OLS） model and its spatial econometric counterparts, a spatial error model （SEM） was selected to analyze the impact of major economic determinants on AVEC. While the analytic results revealed a significant positive correlation between AVEC and economic development, other determinants showed some intricate influential patterns. The provinces endowed with rich energy reserves were inclined to consume much more energy than those otherwise, whereas changing the economic structure by increasing the proportion of secondary and tertiary industries also tended to consume more energy. Both situations seem to underpin the fact that these provinces were largely trapped in the economies that were supported by technologies of low energy efficiency during the period, while other parts of the country were rapidly modernized by adopting advanced technologies and more efficient industries. On the other hand, institutional change （i.e., marketization） and innova- tion （i.e., technological progress） exerted positive impacts on AVEC improvement, as always expected in this and other studies. Finally, the model comparison indicated that SEM was capable of separating spatial effect from the error term of OLS, so as to improve goodness-of-fit and the significance level of individual determinants.

Recent strategies of collagen-based biomaterials for cartilage repair: from structure cognition to function endowment

Collagen,characteristic in biomimetic composition and hierarchical structure,boasts a huge potential in repairing cartilage defect due to its extraordinary bioactivities and regulated physicochemical properties,such as low immunogenicity,biocompatibility and controllable degradation,which promotes the cell adhesion,migration and proliferation.Therefore,collagen-based biomaterial has been explored as porous scaffolds or functional coatings in cell-free scaffold and tissue engineering strategy for cartilage repairing.Among those forming technologies,freeze-dry is frequently used with special modifications while 3D-printing and electrospinning serve as the structure-controller in a more precise way.Besides,appropriate cross-linking treatment and incorporation with bioactive substance generally help the collagen-based biomaterials to meet the physicochemical requirement in the defect site and strengthen the repairing performance.Furthermore,comprehensive evaluations on the repair effects of biomaterials are sorted out in terms of in vitro,in vivo and clinical assessments,focusing on the morphology observation,characteristic production and critical gene expression.Finally,the challenge of biomaterial-based therapy for cartilage defect repairing was summarized,which is,the adaption to the highly complex structure and functional difference of cartilage.

Research on the Outdoor Activities and Spatial Characteristics of the Elderly in College Communities:Taking a University in Northern China as an Example

In view of the aging population in the country,college communities can better meet the needs of the elderly in the community by developing hardware facilities,environmental resources,and management systems.However,in China,the research on elderly care in colleges is still in its infancy.The paper presents an analysis on the characteristics of the elderly group,outdoor activities,and space characteristics in college communities through the field survey of a university in the north,questionnaire survey and interview with the elderly.Suggestions for optimizing the outdoor activities space of the elderly in college communities are then provided,hoping to provide some reference for relevant research.
