The detective performance of SS will be obviously affected by fading channels among communication nodes, and ED has the advantages of fast implementation, no requirement of priori received information and low complexity, so it is meaningful to investigate ED over various fading channels. The probability density function(p.d.f.) of α-κ-μ distribution is derived to evaluate energy efficiency for sensing systems. The detection probability with Marcum-Q function has been derived and the close-form expressions with moment generating function(MGF) method are deduced to achieve SS.Furthermore, exact closed-form analytic expressions for average area under the receiver operating characteristics curve( AUC) also have been deduced to analyze the performance characteristics of ED over α-κ-μ fading channels.Besides, cooperative spectrum sensing(CSS) with diversity reception has been applied to improve the detection accuracy and mitigate the shadowed fading features with OR-rule. Since the fusion center (FC) has to handle a large set of data, a duster based approach, specifically fuzzy c-means clustering (FCM), has been extensively used in energy detection based cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS). However, the performance of FCM degrades at low signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) and in the presence of multiple PUs as energy data patterns at the FC are often found to be non-spherical i.e. overlapping. To address the problem, this work explores the scope of kernel fuzzy c-means (KFCM) on energy detection based CSS through the projection of non-linear input data to a high dimensional feature space. Extensive simulation results are shown to highlight the improved detection of multiple PUs at low SNR with low energy consumption. An improvement in the detection probability by ~6.78% and ~6.96% at -15 dBW and -20 dBW, respectively, is achieved over the existing FCM method.展开更多

Spectrum sensing involves the detection of primary user (PU) signal using dynamic spectrum access. Cooperative spectrum sensing takes advantage of the spatial diversity in multiple cognitive radio user networks to improve the sensing accuracy. Though the cooperative spectrum sensing schemes significantly improve the sensing accuracy, it requires the noise variance and channel state information which may lead to transmission overhead. With the analytical expression of the optimal decision threshold, the impact of different sensing parameters on the threshold value is studied. Theoretical analyses show that the optimal threshold achieves an efficient trade-off between the missed detection probability and the false alarm probability. Simulation results illustrate that the average signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and the soft combination schemes have a great influence on the optimal threshold value, whereas the number of samples has a weak impact on the optimal threshold value. Furthermore, for the maximal ratio combing (MRC) and the modified deflection coefficient (MDC) schemes, the optimal decision threshold value increases and approaches a corresponding individual limit value while the number of CR users increases. But the number of CR users has a weak influence on the optimal decision threshold for the equal gain combining (EGC) scheme.展开更多

文摘In order to solve the cross-channel signal problem caused by the uniform channelized wideband digital receiver when processing wideband signal and the problem that the sensitivity of the system greatly decreases when the bandwidth of wideband digital receiver increases, which both decrease the wideband radar signal detection performance,a new wideband digital receiver based on the modulated wideband converter(MWC)discrete compressed sampling structure and an energy detection method based on the new receiver are proposed.Firstly, the proposed receiver utilizes periodic pseudo-random sequences to mix wideband signals with baseband and other sub-bands.Then the mixed signals are low-pass filtered and downsampled to obtain the baseband compressed sampling data, which can increase the sensitivity of the system.Meanwhile, the cross-channel signal will all appear in any subbands,so the cross-channel signal problem can be solved easily by processing the baseband compressed sampling data.Secondly,we establish the signal detection model and formulate the criterion of the energy detection method. And we directly utilize the baseband compressed sampling data to carry out signal detection without signal reconstruction, which decreases the complexity of the algorithm and reduces the computational burden. Finally, simulation experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed receiver and show that the proposed signal detection method is effective in low signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)compared with the conventional energy detection and the probability of detection increases significantly when SNR increases.

文摘To evaluate the ranging performance of impulse radio ultra wideband (IR-UWB) signals, an experiment is performed in a typical indoor environment. In order to mitigate the ranging error caused by theoretical algorithm and practical circuits, one way-time difference of the arrival (OW-TDOA) ranging method and corresponding approaches are proposed and carried out according to the structure of UWB transceivers. Generalized maximum likelihood (GML) estimator based on energy detection is applied for the time of arrival estimation. The obtained results show that this UWB ranging system can achieve a relative high ranging accuracy in a multipath environment (e.g. about 5 cm at ranges up to 6 m), which is practical and meaningful for many sensor applications.

文摘Cognitive Radio (CR) can use the fre- quency band allocated to a Primary User (PU) on the premise that it will prevent significant of avoiding causing great interference to the PU. In this paper, we consider a wideband CR system where the Secondary User (SU) mini- raises its interference to the PU by jointly al- locating the optimal sensing threshold and sub- carrier power. A multi-parameter optimization problem is formulated to obtain the joint opt- imal allocation by alternating direction opti- mization, which minimises the total interfer- ence to the PU over all of the subcarriers sub- ject to the constraints on the throughput, Bit Error Rate (BER) and maximal total power of the SU, the subcarrier rate and interference power of the PU, and the false alarm and mis- detection probabilities of each subcarrier. The simulation results show that the proposed joint allocation algorithm can achieve the desired mitigation on the interference to the PU at the different subcarrier gains.

文摘In order to reduce interference to primary users and provide better performance of detection probability and channel capacity in multi-user cooperative spectrum sensing networks, a high capacity spectrum sensing framework is proposed based on the analysis of amplification factors on the performance of detection probability and channel capacity. Thanks to the energy concentration property of chirp signals in the Fractional Fourier Transform(Fr FT) domain, sinusoidal signal and different chirp signals are utilized for primary user and cognitive users, respectively. Hence, spectrum sensing and signal transmission can be performed simultaneously in our proposed framework. Simulation results show that compared with the previous relay-based framework, the modified cooperative spectrum sensing framework can improve the detection probability significantly, and the channel capacity can also be improved. Moreover, the amplification factor can be used to realize the tradeoff between detection probability and channel capacity in our proposed framework.

文摘In order to improve the throughput of cognitive radio(CR), optimization of sensing time and cooperative user allocation for OR-rule cooperative spectrum sensing was investigated in a CR network that includes multiple users and one fusion center. The frame structure of cooperative spectrum sensing was divided into multiple transmission time slots and one sensing time slot consisting of local energy detection and cooperative overhead. An optimization problem was formulated to maximize the throughput of CR network, subject to the constraints of both false alarm probability and detection probability. A joint optimization algorithm of sensing time and number of users was proposed to solve this optimization problem with low time complexity. An allocation algorithm of cooperative users was proposed to preferentially allocate the users to the channels with high utilization probability. The simulation results show that the significant improvement on the throughput can be achieved through the proposed joint optimization and allocation algorithms.
文摘The idea of cooperation and the clustering amongst cognitive radios(CRs) has recently been focus of attention of research community, owing to its potential to improve performance of spectrum sensing(SS) schemes. This focus has led to the paradigm of cluster based cooperative spectrum sensing(CBCSS). In perspective of high date rate 4th generation wireless systems, which are characterized by orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) and spatial diversity, there is a need to devise effective SS strategies. A novel CBCSS scheme is proposed for OFDM subcarrier detection in order to enable the non-contiguous OFDM(NC-OFDM) at the physical layer of CRs for efficient utilization of spectrum holes. Proposed scheme is based on the energy detection in MIMO CR network, using equal gain combiner as diversity combining technique, hard combining(AND, OR and Majority) rule as data fusion technique and antenna diversity based weighted clustering as virtual sub clustering algorithm. Results of proposed CBCSS are compared with conventional CBCSS scheme for AND, OR and Majority data fusion rules. Moreover the effects of antenna diversity, cooperation and cooperating clusters are also discussed.
文摘Non-coherent receivers are attractive for pulsed Ultra-WideBand (UWB) systems due to the implementation simplicity. However, they have to face the shortage of performance degradation. Several techniques were proposed to alleviate the noise effect and promote the receiver performance, among which is the weighted combining of multiple integration sub-intervals. In this paper, the performance of the weighted non-coherent receiver for UWB On-Off Keying (UWB-OOK) signal in multipath channels is analyzed, in terms of bit-error-rate. In addition, a closed-form expression of the approximately near-optimal weighting coefficient set is derived, and two simple weighting coefficient sets are proposed as well. Finally, the analytic results are verified via the computer simulations, which reveal obvious performance improvements to the conventional energy detector.
