To achieve information integration, process integration and application integration of enterprise, an enterprise integration platform (EIP) based on service-oriented architecture (SOA) is built. The enterprise integration model depending on encapsulating the business processes as well as the enterprise applications by the neutral and standard web services is presented. The problem how to discover the existed enterprise resources and share them was resolved depending on the mechanism of publishing and discovering the services. The EIP is integrated closely with product lifecycle management (PLM) system so that the process integration as well as orchestration of the business process services is implemented by encapsulating the workflow engine of PLM system. Not only process integration and application integration, but also information integration based on the bill of material (BOM) conversion driven by process are achieved. Finally, an interpretive, qualitative case study on EIP is conducted for this research. 展开更多

This paper describes how Chinese companies can enhance their competitive advantage through implementing enterprise information systems (EIS). The reference framework combines strategic information system alignment and dynamic capabilities perspectives. EIS implementations were analyzed in eight companies (four in China and four in Europe). Recommendations derived from this analysis can be used by Chinese EIS practitioners to effectively enhance organizational competitiveness through EIS implementation. The results show that Chinese companies must achieve a strategic alignment between their business strat- egy and EIS strategy and then they should facilitate EIS implementation by effectively designing managerial processes and learning mechanisms. 展开更多

Modelling enterprises include two essential tasks:data modelling for static properties and behaviours modelling for dynamic properties.Traditionally,the data modelling and behaviours modelling are separated in different phases and also in different description forms,e.g.the former is modelled in entity-relationship diagrams(ERDs),and the latter is modelled in data flow diagrams (DFDs).The separation could result in an incorrect description of the relationships between da- ta and behaviours,so that the enterprise model couldn't reflect the actual conditions and demands of the enterprise.In this paper an object-oriented approach integrating data with behaviours in a model for the Enterprises Management Information Systems(in short,EMISs)is proposed.As an isomorphic mapping of enterprises an object-oriented model can,in a natural form,exactly describe the dynamic and static properties of enterprises in an integrated model.Therefore it can be easily used by the end-users(e.g.the experts in accounting,financial reporting,and business managers) to specify their demands and communicate with the system analysts and designers.Based on the model an EMIS can be prototyped quickly,and then be conveniently evolved with inheritance mechanism to an adaptive application system according to the actual demands of the enterprise. 展开更多
