The quantum phenomena do not fit with the parameters of classical physics, so a daily intuition on macroscopic world is dispensable when it is the quantum object investigated. This physical domain induces a new thinking, which requires also new concepts to describe such object. The QM is disturbing and stimulates epistemological reflections, as the issues of access about what is known; and metaphysical theme are not to be left behind with regard to QM: What would the quantum object to? What is apprehended when this object is perceived, once considered the disturbing characteristics that constitute its physical description: interference and non-separability? What is its nature? This paper focuses briefly on the analysis of B. d'Espagnat in Veiled Reality, which would represent the physical perspective of QT; for epistemological questions, one will resort to the Kantian conception of knowledge; and with regard to the metaphysical perspective, we will rely on an article by Professor J. B. Arenhart. It is necessary to note that the question that pervades in this paper is about if the experience in QM is built. Thus, we will try to seek clarity on the philosophical issues through QT, regarding the problems about the possibility of knowledge of the quantum object and its nature, and whether experience in this case is built. But furthermore, the QM instigates us to think whether metaphysics proceeds on the investigation of nature when it comes to the QM. And such a question is more than to have as problem as the scope of the description of physical data, but rather whether it makes sense or whether metaphysical research is pertinent to the QM.展开更多

In the existent interpretations of the economic world physical, biological and psychological approaches predominate. They highlight certain important aspects of economic realm, but do not provide a complex global picture of it. The philosophical method used in the article structuralizes the economic world in the context of Aristotelian doctrine concerning economic reality and economic being and Heidegger's fundamental ontology. The main attention is paid to the ontological and epistemological aspects of the economic world. The structure of the economic world is considered as a whole and in its dimensions (the economic being, the economic existence, the economic actuality, and the art of economics). Economic being is considered as a ground, prerequisite, economic background of economic existence. It is resumed that the qualitative analysis of the economic world has to be based on the philosophical, general scientific and economic methodology. Philosophical methodology includes general principles of cognition and categorical structure of science (i.e., structural components) as well as a philosophical knowledge system (i.e., functional components). General scientific methodology is based on general scientific research principles. It includes all theoretical concepts used to all or the majority of scientific disciplines. Specific scientific methodology, economic methodology use appropriate methods, research principles, and procedures in economics. The art of economics (economic policy) is built on a basis of either the explanatory methodology or applied (engineering) methodology, with its precise tools of statistics, econometrics, and mathematics.展开更多

Husserl recaptures the Cartesian base from which opens philosophical reflection to a new area of research "in" consciousness where it is allowed to understand the relationship between subject and object from a new perspective that enables establishing an epistemology that substantiates the rigorous analysis of human subjectivity. Husserl's proposal introduces us to an epistemic field in which it can be shown and, that the psychoanalytic method which enables its effects is precisely the position of the analyst, while by his presence and intervention leads to the other in question, without having to abide by an alien desire, be able to position himself before his own desire. This analysis regarding the desire of oneself is indispensable to understand the elements at play in contemporary psychopathology, as in the present context the intensity of the demands generated in the economic apparatus, are experienced by the subject as arising from himself, erasing traces of his desire that is superseded by social imperatives that crushed and fragmented him.展开更多

Over those years, the scholars in that field started to show a peculiar epistemological sensitivity. Spurred by the philosophical debate which was raised by positivism and particularly by Comte's and Spencer's studies, researchers wondered whether the most appropriate place for accounting was in the large field of social sciences. Hence, two different epistemological approaches arose with one succeeding the other in time. Initially, scholars accepted the idea that accounting somehow depended on its related sciences, which included economics. They deemed it convenient to use, also for their own purposes, principles drawn from contiguous doctrines that had already been scientifically recognized, such as economics. That was how Italian accounting happened to be, even though temporarily, in a position of "scientific subjection" with respect to the mentioned doctrines. At the second stage, due to the awareness of the specific subject and the method of investigation, as well as the purposes, Italian accounting claimed its own scientific autonomy, so scholars went back to the first phase and considered it necessary to develop internal principles and rules as a function of its peculiar needs. By doing so, scholars mapped out a route that would deeply mark the future of the discipline by making it fully independent on other fields of knowledge in a sort of emancipation process. The paper will not only describe the two theoretical positions which are summarized above, but will also adopt an interpretative approach to trace their possible causes and to grasp their effects on the development of the discipline, particularly with regards to the theories of value which is adopted by the Italian accounting over the analyzed period. In the authors' opinion, the attention paid by the most authoritative Italian accounting scholars to the epistemological theme of relationships between accounting and its similar sciences can be explained by at least two different causes: the influence which is exercised by the philosophical studies and the aspiration of accounting for scientific and academic recognition.展开更多

Some of the explicitly more positive comments about the masses that Lu Xun made in his later years have been used to demonstrate this point. However, the existence of such a "break" is still debatable, and a detailed examination of Lu Xun's apparently optimistic comments reveals that Lu Xun possessed a more sophisticated understanding of the masses and the Chinese people. His understanding was informed by the concept of "national character." This paper attempts to demonstrate the consistency of Lu Xun's view of the masses and the Chinese people and to resolve an apparent self-contradiction in Lu Xun's arguments.展开更多

While mysticism after Misty poetry has been confined to the mystification of nature, the secrecy of destiny, or the elusiveness of truth--a spiritual heritage that struggles to maintain one's national pride--Haizi's dramatic verses feature monotheistic mysticism and center on the paradoxical and ineffable experiences of divinity. With this epistemological breakthrough, he attempted to unify Chinese culture with Christian tradition, to write "real poetry," and to replace condescendingly objective and external descriptions of human experience and truth with an empathetic and active participation that blurs the line between subjectivity and objectivity, living and writing. His Sun: Seven Books demonstrates a gradual but steady transition from Greek pantheism to the Judeo-Christian tradition, such as in his Book of Regicide As a modern rendition of Oedipus the King, the Book of Regicide takes on Greek "elements," but transcends its maternal inheritance and rejuvenates it in modern dramatic verses, enriched with poetic means of expression, and offered as an alternative approach for Chinese intellectuals to engage in spirituality and self-realization.展开更多

文摘It has been argued that, starting in the late 1920s, Lu Xun's intellectual development underwent a significant transformation constituting what the French Marxist philosopher Louis Althusser has termed an "epistemological break." Some of the explicitly more positive comments about the masses that Lu Xun made in his later years have been used to demonstrate this point. However, the existence of such a "break" is still debatable, and a detailed examination of Lu Xun's apparently optimistic comments reveals that Lu Xun possessed a more sophisticated understanding of the masses and the Chinese people. His understanding was informed by the concept of "national character." This paper attempts to demonstrate the consistency of Lu Xun's view of the masses and the Chinese people and to resolve an apparent self-contradiction in Lu Xun's arguments.
文摘The“University”proposes the proposition of“investigating things to acquire knowledge”,presenting the rudimentary form of Chinese philosophical epistemology.Over the following 2,500 years,it has undergone numerous debates on the relationship between knowledge and action;however,no philosopher has developed a comprehensive epistemological system that explores the nature, source, formation, application, truth, testing, structure of human knowledge,as well as the relationship between language and thinking. The concept of“know”in the philosophy of“investigating things to attain knowledge”is equivalent to concepts such as“idea”and“meaning”in Western philosophy. However, the cognitive state of“know”has not been fully explored and expanded upon, nor has the distinction between empirical and rational recognition of“know”been made.Confucianism advocated the“learning”of language communication as one of the ways to acquire knowledge, but it failed to evolve a method of using language to conduct formal logical reasoning to acquire knowledge and test truth. The“eight trigrams”deduction and yin-yang and five elements theory in the“I Ching”have stifled the emergence of modern scientific epistemological methods in China in terms of thinking mode.Confucian epistemology:focuses on“reason”and interpersonal relationships, with an emphasis on the establishment of moral ethics and social order.Taoist epistemology:pursues a realm beyond experience and social conventions, understanding the world through introspection and insight;it focuses on grasping“Tao”,providing vague guidance for determining universal truths and acquiring precise knowledge;it is prone to falling into the dilemma of nihilism and relativism. The concept of unity between heaven and man and unity between knowledge and action has led to the lack of differentiation in Chinese philosophical epistemology regarding the study of the relationship between subject and object, not involving the way in which the subject understands the object, the limitations of understanding, and the interaction between subject and object in the process of understanding.
文摘This work explores the axiology of consciousness in Mocombe’s consciousness field in the material world. The paper critically assesses Mocombe’s consciousness field theory(CFT)within the larger body of contemporary ontological debates regarding the nature, origin, and constitution of consciousness in the universe. The work goes on to highlight the manifestation of Mocombe’s consciousness field in the material resource framework that is the earth, and the nature and origins of ethics and values.
文摘Most scholarship on Haizi's mystical poetry has not highlighted his mysticism and has failed to identify its general epistemological significance in the life and writing of poets. His Sun: Seven Books demonstrates a gradual but steady transition from Greek pantheism to the Judeo-Christian tradition, such as in his Book of Regicide As a modern rendition of Oedipus the King, the Book of Regicide takes on Greek "elements," but transcends its maternal inheritance and rejuvenates it in modern dramatic verses, enriched with poetic means of expression, and offered as an alternative approach for Chinese intellectuals to engage in spirituality and self-realization.
文摘Clouds are often appealed to when an objection is raised to the rationalist knowledge paradigm of the clear and distinct,as formulated by Rene Descartes. In such cases, clouds serve to establish an anti-classically oriented,non-hierarchical and non-determinative,chaos-theoretically informed counter-paradigm.Itself informed by this tendency, this essay proposes to examine clouds as an epistemological challenge, capable of exposing specific tensions in science, philosophy, and art alike. These fields negotiate questions of perception and representation, hence aesthetic problems,on the basis of which this contribution formulates an“aesthetics from below.”Such an aesthetics does not proceed from aesthetic theories, nor is it based on fuzzy concepts;rather,it begins with reflection on perception-based experience and specifically historical artifacts and seeks to lead these toward the work of theory. In this essay, this is accomplished through an examination of the significance of clouds in Siegfried Kracauer’s philosophical reflections on history.
文摘The essay has two main purposes. The first consists of discussing some literary and philosophical thoughts on the epistemological value of science by one of the most famous and celebrated poets in Italian literature,Giacomo Leopardi. The poet firmly believes in the cognitive power of science, capable of revealing false beliefs with the light of reason. However,in his mature reflections, what will radically change will not be the value of scientific activity itself, always admirably accepted, but rather its true salvific force.Leopardi was not a scientist, but he used the scientific culture of his time to critically address the great existential themes of man concerning nature and the universe. He had amply demonstrated a scientific culture since his youthful'History of Astronomy',which would reappear in many of his other literary works. His deep and meditative reflections on the nature of finite and infinite space and time are a clear and fruitful testimony to this. However,Giacomo writes icastically, reason alone is not enough;it needs imagination. The second concerns a first reconstruction of the influence that the philosophy of Enlightenment had on Leopardi’s thought especially in relation to these topics:atheism, rejection of providentialism and anthropocentrism, the conception of nature, the question of the relationship between human and animal intelligence, the rejection of metaphysics, the importance of scientific knowledge.
文摘This work, using the case study of the Haitian Revolution, positions Paul C.Mocombe’s theory of antidialectic within Hegel’s dialectical reasoning.Mocombe posits that the antidialectical position in Hegel’s dialectic is the position of each self-consciousness when they initially encounter each other at the onset of the master/slave dialectic.Whereas, the master seeks to move to the dialectical position in order to dominate and eliminate the original(antidialectical)position of the slave, the slave remains in this antidialectical position so long as they seek to fight against their enslavement for the purpose of maintaining and reproducing their original, antidialectical, position, which is social, political, economic, and ideological. In any other instances, they(the slaves)are either in the dialectical, seeking to maintain the status quo,or negative dialectical, seeking to integrate the status quo on equal footing with the master, positions.
文摘This work posits that the Haitian Revolution became an insignificant Revolution the minute that it was usurped by the Affranchis class, the mulatto elites and petit-bourgeois creole blacks, seeking equality of opportunity, recognition, and distribution with their former colonial masters, from the Africans who commenced the event on the night of August 14th,1791.Whereas the Africans,I conclude, sought total freedom from the mercantilist and liberal order of the whites, which made the Haitian Revolution significant, the vindicationism sought by the Affranchis class undermined the agential initiatives of the Africans rendering the Revolution revolutionarily insignificant.
文摘Against behaviorism, humanism, and cognitive psychology, this work explores Mocombe’s antihuman psychology as a product of his consciousness field theory. The paper critically assesses Mocombe’s consciousness field theory within the larger body of contemporary ontological debates regarding the nature, origin, and constitution of consciousness, especially human consciousness,vis-à-vis their relations to the psychological theories of behaviorism, humanism, and cognitivism, concluding that consciousness field theory posits an alternative psychological theory of the mind,i.e.,antihuman psychology,to behaviorist, humanist, and cognitivist conceptions of the mind.
