To overcome the deficiencies of the existing Verhulst GM(1,1) model, based on the existing grey theory, a non-equal-interval direct optimum Verhulst GM(1,1) model is built which chooses a modified n-th component x(n) ...To overcome the deficiencies of the existing Verhulst GM(1,1) model, based on the existing grey theory, a non-equal-interval direct optimum Verhulst GM(1,1) model is built which chooses a modified n-th component x(n) of X(0) as the starting condition of the grey differential model. It optimizes a modified β value and the background value, and takes two times fitting optimization. The new model extends equal intervals to non-equal-intervals and is suitable for general data modelling and estimating parameters of the direct Verhulst GM(1,1). The new model does not need to pre-process the primitive data, nor accumulate generating operation (AGO) and inverse accumulated generating operation (IAGO). It is not only suitable for equal interval data modelling, but also for non-equal interval data modelling. As the new information is fully used and two times fitting optimization is taken, the fitting accuracy is the highest in all existing models. The example shows that the new model is simple and practical. The new model is worth expanding on and applying in data processing or on-line monitoring for tests, social sciences and other engineering sciences.展开更多
Open channel junctions are encountered in urban water treatment plants, irrigation and drainage canals, and natural river systems. Junctions are very important in municipal sewerage systems and river engineering. Adeq...Open channel junctions are encountered in urban water treatment plants, irrigation and drainage canals, and natural river systems. Junctions are very important in municipal sewerage systems and river engineering. Adequate theoretical description of flow through an open channel junction is difficult because numerous variables are to be considered. Equations of junction models are based on mass and momentum or mass and energy conservation. The objective of this study is to compare two junction models for subcritical flows. In channel branches, we solve numerically the Saint-Venant hyperbolic system by combining Preissmann scheme and double sweep method. We validate our results with HEC-RAS using Nash and Sutcliffe efficiency. In junction models, equality of water stage and complete energy conservation equation from HEC-RAS are compared. Outcome of the research clearly indicates that the complete conservation energy model is more suitable in flow through junction than equality of water stage model in serious situations.展开更多

A dynamic channel is characterized and modeled by a high relative velocity between transmitter and receiver and fast changes of enviro...We present in this paper a method for enhancing equalization of a dynamic channel. A dynamic channel is characterized and modeled by a high relative velocity between transmitter and receiver and fast changes of environment conditions for wave propagation. Based on Jakes model, an auto-regressive model (AR) [1] for such a dynamic system, i.e., a time variant channel is developed. More specifically, the enhanced equalization method we are proposing is a combination of a multi-stage time and frequency domain equalizer with a feed-forward loop. The underlined wok presents a unified approach to the equalization method that employs both time and frequency domains data to enhance the equalization scheme. In an OFDM system, the channel coefficients for each tap, in time domain for consecutive blocks, are partially independent thus correlated. Such correlation can improve the channel estimation if it is taken into account. The method in this paper enhances the performance of equalization by dynamically selecting the number of previous OFDM symbols based on the Doppler frequency. In order to decrease the complexity of the system model, we utilize the autocorrelation and Doppler frequency to dynamically select the previous OFDM symbols that will be stored in the memory. In addition to deriving earlier results in a unified manner, the approach presented also leads to enhanced performance results without imposing any restrictions or limitations on the OFDM system such as increasing the number of pilots or cyclic prefix.展开更多

More precision landslide surface deformation data extracted from InSAR image need take suitable SAR interferometric data selecting, path tracking, phase unwrapping processes. Then, the DEM model of scope and surface shape of the landslide was built. Combining with geological property of landslide and sliding displacements obtained from InSAR/D-InSAR images, a new landslide forecasting model called equal central angle slice method for those not obviously deformed landslides was put forward. This model breaks the limits of traditional research methods of geology. In this model, the landslide safety factor was calculated by equal central angle slice method, then considering the persistence ratio of the sliding surface based on plastic theory, the minimum safety factor was the phase when plastic area were complete persistence. This new model makes the application of InSAR/D-InSAR technology become more practical in geology hazard research.展开更多
