In 2014,Huang Kaihong,a professor at School of Foreign Languages and Cultures,Southwest University of Science and Technology,interviewed the Doctoral advisor Professor Nie Zhenzhao during the period of his academic vi...In 2014,Huang Kaihong,a professor at School of Foreign Languages and Cultures,Southwest University of Science and Technology,interviewed the Doctoral advisor Professor Nie Zhenzhao during the period of his academic visiting to Central China Normal University.As early as in 2005,Huang Kaihong conducted an interview with Professor Nie Zhenzhao on the topic of the general introduction of ethical literary criticism.So around 11 years later,the second interview mainly covers not only the ethical literary criticism theory,but the game theory and the relationship between them as well.Professor Nie thinks whether the game theory can be applied to literature research is still under discussion.The theory of ethical literary criticism is a kind of methodology based on science and it can get the attention of literary critics at home and abroad,which is because it fits the practical needs of literary criticism,draws the literary criticism away from only emphasizing criticism genres and the research of criticism terms,and pays attention to the true nature of the literary text in literature research.After consulting Professor Nie Zhenzhao about some related questions from the perspective of game theory.Huang Kaihong gets some significant information concerning literature research and understands the latest core terms and the concrete application method of ethical literary criticism,especially the relationship between the instructing and aesthetic functions of literature.展开更多
Case description:Nurses face more and more ethical dilemmas during their practice nowadays,especially when they are taking care of the patient at end of life stage.The case study demonstrates an ethical dilemma when n...Case description:Nurses face more and more ethical dilemmas during their practice nowadays,especially when they are taking care of the patient at end of life stage.The case study demonstrates an ethical dilemma when nursing staff are taking care of an end stage aggressive prostate cancer patient Mr Green who expressed the suicide thoughts to one of the nurses and ask that nurse keep secret for him in Brisbane,QLD,Australia.Ethical dilemma identification:The ethical dilemma is identified as“if the nursing staff should tell other health care team members about patient's suicide attempt without patient's consent”.Analysis:To better solving this case and making the best moral decision,the ethical theory,the ethical principles and the Australian nurses'code of ethics values statement,the associated literature relative with this case are analyzed before the decision making.Ethical decision making:After consider all of the above factors,in this case,the best ethical decision for the patient is that the nurse share the information of Mr Green's suicide attempt with other health care professionals.Results:In Mr Green's case,the nurse chose to share the information of Mr Green's suicide attempt with other health care professionals.The nursing team followed the self-harm and suicide protocol of the hospital strictly,they maintained the effective communication with Mr Green,identified the factors which cause patient's suicide attempt,provided the appropriate nursing intervention to deal will these risk factors and collaborated with other health care professionals to prefect the further care.The patient transferred to a palliative care service with no sign of suicide attempt and other self-harm behaviors and passed away peacefully 76 days after discharged with his relatives and pastors accompany.展开更多
Developing health and counselling professionals remains an important part of supporting mental health services in Cambodia.This paper aims to identify how the key stakeholders and mental health experts in Cambodia con...Developing health and counselling professionals remains an important part of supporting mental health services in Cambodia.This paper aims to identify how the key stakeholders and mental health experts in Cambodia consider how a university level health counselling course could contribute to addressing the needs/treatment gap for mental health services in Cambodia.In order to do this,the study consists of semi-structured interviews with stakeholders,community needs assessment,and community resource mapping.The data were drawn from 15 NGOs,various profit and not-for-profit organizations as well as two key government stakeholders.The participants were invited to take part in a stakeholders/expert semi-structured interview that lasted between 30-60 minutes at the participants’organizations.The findings revealed that all participants believe that a university level health counseling course was crucial in Cambodia to address pressing mental health issues in the country.Most participants believed that a graduate or post-graduate level program such as a B.A.or M.A.was necessary to train qualified counsellors.The program should be internationally benchmarked,with a Cambodian context.Topics should include psychopathology,professional ethics and competencies,counselling theories and interventions,trauma treatment,as well as emotional intelligence and addiction.Other topics might need to include parenting,support system for suicidal patients,self-care,staff wellbeing programs,and school counselor programs.展开更多
This paper provides ethical guidance for the professionally responsible clinical investigation of maternal-fetal investigation for fetal or neonatal benefit and its transition into clinical practice.We present an ethi...This paper provides ethical guidance for the professionally responsible clinical investigation of maternal-fetal investigation for fetal or neonatal benefit and its transition into clinical practice.We present an ethical framework based on the ethical principles of beneficence,respect for autonomy,and justice,the professional virtue of integrity,and the ethical concept of the fetus as a patient.We identify the implications of this ethical framework for the qualifications that centers for maternal-fetal intervention should satisfy.These centers have the ethical obligation to provide prospective review and oversight of both innovation(an experiment undertaken to benefit an individual patient)and research(an experiment undertaken to create generalizable knowledge).We describe ethically justified criteria for innovation and early-phase research,for randomized clinical trials,and for the responsible transition into clinical practice.We also identify the elements of the informed consent process,including measures to prevent therapeutic misconception by pregnant patients during the informed consent process.The scientific,clinical,and ethical requirements of maternal-fetal investigation are demanding.However,the commitment to safety and quality requires that they be met.Fulfilling this commitment will result in well-documented professionally responsible investigation of maternal-fetal intervention for fetal and neonatal benefit.展开更多
