EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON THE ANTI-CANCER IMMUNOMODULA-TIVE EFFECT OF THE POLYSOCOHARIBE-PEPTIDE OF CORIOLUS VERSICOLOR

Polysocoharibe-peptide of Coriolus Versicolor (PSP) is a new anti-cancer immunomodulative drug. The present paper reports on the experimental research done with this drug. It was found that PSP had the ability to recover hemolysin HC50, to increase the weight of the thymus, and increase the alexin of serum C3 and the IgG content of tumor bearing mice. FSP also significantly raised the pha-gocytic activity of macrophages in normal mice. PSP had a significant inhibitory effect on P38S and S180 cells. At the concentration of 1 mg/ml, PSP inhibited the proliferating activity of some human tumor call lines, such as SGC 7901, SPC, SLY and Mei. It had a direct toxic effect on SPC cells. PSP significantly inhibited the synthesis of nucleic acids of Ehrlich ascites carcinoma cells. In addition, PSP was antagonistic to the side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Experimental I-V and C-V Analysis of Schottky-Barrier Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors with Epitaxial NiSi2 Contacts and Dopant Segregation

We present an experimental analysis of Schottky-barrier metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistors （SB- MOSFETs） fabricated on ultrathin body silicon-on-insulator substrates with a steep junction by the dopant implantation into the silicide process. The subthreshold swing of such SB-MOSFETs reaches 69mV/dec. Em- phasis is placed on the capacitance-voltage analysis of p-type SB-MOSFETs. According to the measurements of gate-to-source capacitance Cgs with respect to Vgs at various Vds, we find that a maximum occurs at the accumulation regime due to the most imbalanced charge distribution along the channel. At each Cgs peak, the difference between Vgs and Vds is equal to the Schottky barrier height （SBH） for NiSi2 on highly doped silicon, which indicates that the critical condition of channel pinching off is related with SBH for source/drain on chan- nel. The SBH for NiSi2 on highly doped silicon can affect the pinch-off voltage and the saturation current of SB-MOSFETs.

Experimental study on effect of endothelin in the proliferation and collagen synthesis of human scar-derived fibroblasts

Objective To investigate the role of endothelin(ET) in the proliferation and collagen synthesis of human scar-derived fibroblasts and the moduktion of its antagonists such as nitric oxide(NO), tetrandrine ( Tet). Methods With the cultured fibroblasts from the scarring tissue, the cell pdiferation was determined by[3H]-TdR incorporation, while the collagen synthesis was evaluated by[3H]-proline incorporation. Results The ET-1 was significantly increasing the proliferation and collagen synthesis of human scar-derived fibroblasts. The values of [3H]-TdR absorption in the 2.5 ng/ml,25 ng/ml and 100 ng/ml of ET-1 groups were 1.8 times,4 times and 4.9 times more than in the control group, respectively(P【0. 01),while the values of the [3H]-proline incorporation were 1.1 times,3.1 times and 3.8 times respectively(P【0.01). A Fluid Experiment of Large-Scale Topography Effect on Baroclinic Wave Flows

The effects of topography on baroclinic wave flows are studied experimentally in a thermally driven rotating annulus of fluid.Fourier analysis and complex principal component (CPC) analysis of the experimental data show that, due to topographic forcing, the flow is bimodal rather than a single mode. Under suitable imposed experimental parameters, near thermal Rossby number ROT = 0.1 and Taylor number Ta = 2.2 × 107, the large-scale topography produces low-frequency oscillation in the flow and rather long-lived flow pattern resembling blocking in the atmospheric circulation. The 'blocking' phenomenon is caused by the resonance of travelling waves and the quasi-stationary waves forced by topography.The large-scale topography transforms wavenumber-homogeneous flows into wavenumber-dispersed flows, and the dispersed flows possess lower wavenumbers.

Characteristics of gravity signal and loading effect in China

The complex geographical environment in China makes its gravity signals miscellaneous.This work gives a comprehensive representation and explanation in secular trend of gravity change in different regions,the key features of which include positive trend in inner Tibet Plateau and South China and negative trend in North China plain and high mountain Asia（HMA）.We also present the patterns of amplitudes and phases of annual and semiannual change.The mechanism underlying the semiannual period is explicitly discussed.The displacement in three directions expressed in terms of geo-potential spherical coefficients and load Love numbers are given.A case study applied with these equations is presented.The results show that Global Positioning System（GPS） observations can be used to compare with Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment（GRACE） derived displacement and the vertical direction has a signal-noise-ratio of about one order of magnitude larger than the horizontal directions.

Recent Progress of the HL-2A Multi-Channel HCOOH Laser Interferometer/Polarimeter

A multichannel methanoic acid （HCOOH, λ=432.5 μm） laser interferometer/polarimeter is being developed from the previous eight-channel hydrogen cyanide （HCN, λ=337 μm） laser interferometer in the HL-2A tokamak. A conventional Michelson-type interometer is used for the electron density measurement, and a Dodel-Kunz-type polarimeter is used for the Faraday rotation effect measurement, respectively. Each HCOOH laser can produce a linearly polarized radiation at a power lever of -30 mW, and a power stability 〈10% in 50 rain. A beam waist （diameter d0 ≈12.0 mm, about 200 mm away from the outlet） is finally determined through a chopping modulation technique. The latest optical layout of the interferometer/polarimeter has been finished, and the hardware data processing system based on the fast Fourier transform phase- comparator technique is being explored. In order to demonstrate the feasibility of the diagnostic scheme, two associated bench simulation experiments were carried out in the laboratory, in which the plasma was simulated by a piece of polytetrafluoroethene plate, and the Faraday rotation effect was simulated by a rotating half-wave plate. Simulation results agreed well with the initial experimental conditions. At present, the HCOOH laser interferometer/polarimeter system is being assembled on HL-2A, and is planned to be applied in the 2014-2015 experimental campaign.

Clinical and Experimental Study of Effect on Acute Phase Protein of Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome Treated with Dachengqi Decoction

Objective: To investigate the level of acute phase proteins (APP)-synthesized in hepatocytes in pathogenic process of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) and the effect of Dachengqi Decoction (DCQD) on it. Methods: The levels of C-reactive protein (CRP),α1-acid glycoprotein (AAG), α1-antitrypsin total (α1AT), α2-macroglobulin (α2-MG), ceruloplasmine (CP), hepatoglobin (HP) and transferrin (TF) synthesis were determined in 32 cases of MODS patients and rat models of MODS induced by acute infective peritonitis and mesenterial artery ischemia-reperfusion.Results: The serum APP level in MODS patients was increased and higher than that in the control group (P < 0. 01 ). After 3 days of DCQD treatment it reduced significantly (P <0. 05). Serum APP level in MODS model was also increased significantly, and after 3 days of DCQD treatment, it reduced significantly (P < 0. 05). The APP secreting level of rat hepatocytes cultured in vitro raised after stimulated and activated by lipopolysacchride, which was reduced after cultured with rabbits serum containing different concentration of effective ingredients of DCQD. The APP inhibiting effect of DCQD was dose dependent. Conclusion: Purgation therapy with DCQD could reduce the stimulation of pathogenic factors on hepatocytes, protect tissues and organs from damage caused by excessive inflammatory reaction.Original article on CJIM(Chin) 1998; 18(8): 453

Experimental research on impulse coupling effect of a multi-pulse laser on an aluminum target

Impact and torsion pendulums are applied in impulse coupling experiments of high-energy laser irradiation of space debris. It is difficult to achieve a multi-pulse experiment and thus hard to analyze the multi-pulse impulse coupling effect. Here, we designed a new recoil impulse experimental measurement system of non-contact, multidegrees of freedom, and multi-pulse irradiation. The system used a low-pressure and low-temperature vacuum chamber to simulate the space environment, the pinning effect of magnetic levitation to achieve aluminum target suspension, and high-speed cameras to record the displacement over time to calculate the impulse of the target.Then the impulse coupling experiment of multi-pulse laser irradiation on the aluminum target was performed.The result shows that the multi-pulse impulse coupling effect is not the linear accumulation of coupling results by every single-pulse and multi-pulse coefficient that decreases with the increase of the number of pulses, and eventually stabilizes as the decrease gets smaller.

AN EXPERIMENTAL SIMULATION ON THE MECHANICAL EFFECT OF TIBETAN PLATEAU ON ZONAL CIRCULATION OF STRATIFIED ATMOSPHERE

The present work is intended to simulate, in a rotating annulus of stratified liquid, the me-chanical effect of the Xizang (Tibetan) Plateau on the zonal circulation. The main featuresof three flow patterns around the plateau for different Rossby number R and rotating Eulernumber E are analysed. and a division diagram of the flow pattern in (R, E) plane is given.It has been found that under the condition that similarity criterions R and E of the experimentalfluid are the same as those existing in the atmosphere for monthly mean states in spring, au-tumn and winter months, the experimental results are satisfied for the following weathersystems over the plateau and its vicinities: the low vortex, trough and shear line over thesoutheast part of the plateau, the tilted ridge over the northwest part of the plateau, the troughpatterns over the upstream and dewnstream of the plateau, the vertical circulation structure, thejets on both north and southeast sides of the plateau, and so on. This shows that the mechanicaleffect of the Tibetan Plateau on the general circulation over East Asia deserves close atten-tion.

Prevention and Treatment Test of Piglet Diarrhea

[Objective] The paper was to observe the clinical effects of compound Chinese traditional preparation Shenwudi oral liquid on prevention and treatment of piglet diarrhea, and to explore the diarrhea prevention and growth promotion effect of Shenwudi power on weaned piglets as the medical feed additive. [Method] Diarrhea piglets were randomly grouped, and the clinical prevention and treatment effects of Shenwudi oral liquid were observed. Meantime, the effects of Huangzhi oral liquid and levofloxacin mesylate and sodium chloride injection were determined and compared with that of Shenwudi oral liquid. Shenwudi powder was added into the specific feed of weaned piglets at the dose of 5 g/kg, to observe its diarrhea prevention and growth promotion effect on weaned piglets. Compound amoxicillin powder was added in drug control group at the dose of 0.3 g/kg; no drug was added in blank control group. [Result] The cure rate of sucking piglets by Shenwudi oral liquid was 88.57%, and its protection rate was 100%; the cure rate of weaned piglets by Shenwudi oral liquid was 90.00%, and the total effective rate was 95.00%; the protection rate of weaned piglet diarrhea by Shenwudi powder mixing feed was 100%, and the average daily feed intake on the 42^（nd） day was extremely higher than the blank control group（P〈0.01）. [Conclusion] Shenwudi oral liquid can be used for prevention and treatment of sucking piglet diarrhea.Meantime, Shenwudi mixing feed has good prevention effect and significant growth promotion effect on weaned piglet diarrhea.
