We match China's industry-level data of Green Food Certification with its HS6-digit export data of agri-food products to quantify the impact of Green Food Certification on export quality. We identify the significant and positive effect of Green Food Certification on export quality. The 2SLS estimation based on instrumental variables and a range of robustness checks confirm the validity and robustness of the benchmark conclusions. Further analysis discloses that Green Food Certification improves export quality by raising agricultural production efficiency and brand premiums. Heterogeneity analysis shows that the effect of Green Food Certification varies across regions, notably improving the quality of agri-food products exported to developed regions and regions with high levels of import supervision. Furthermore, among various product types, Green Food Certification significantly improves the export quality of primary products and products vulnerable to non-tariff measures. The above findings could guide the future development of agri-food quality certification systems, potentially leading to a transformation and promotion of the agri-food trade.展开更多

BRICS is an important force in the global economy, and the progress of the BRICS countries' trade facilitation level has an important impact on the global trade environment. This paper conducts an in-depth study of the dynamic changes in BRICS trade facilitation from 2013 to 2022, and uses an extended gravity model to analyze the specific impact of this change on China's exports using cross-border e-commerce. The results show that although the BRICS countries have made some progress in trade facilitation, the overall level still needs to be improved, and there are obvious differences among member countries. However, the improvement of trade facilitation among BRICS countries has undoubtedly brought significant positive effects to China's exports using cross-border e-commerce.展开更多

Despite global economic challenges affecting purchasing power at various times, Vietnam’s coffee exports in December 2023 continued to surge, reaching the highest level in the past 9 months at 190,000 tons, a 59.3% increase compared to November 2023, but still a slight 3.5% decrease from the same period last year. The export turnover reached USD 538 million, a 51% increase from November 2023 and a 26.4% increase from the same period last year. Therefore, forecasting the coffee export volume holds significant importance for coffee producers nationwide. This research employs the Box-Jenkins method to construct an ARIMA model for forecasting Vietnam’s coffee export volume based on annual data published by the General Statistics Office. Results indicate that among the models considered, the ARIMA(1, 1, 2) model is the most suitable. The study also provides short-term forecasts for Vietnam’s coffee export volume. However, the current model is limited to forecasting and is not yet optimized, as the assumed linearity in the model is a simplification.展开更多

METHODS: ABCB11 and ABCC2 genotyping data were available from four CIC patients and from 42 and 33 ICP patients, respectively. Allele-frequencies of the studied polymorphisms were compared with those in healthy pregnant controls and Caucasian individuals. Furthermore, serum bile acid levels were correlated with the presence or absence of the 1331 C allele. RESULTS: The ABCB11 1331T〉C polymorphism was significantly more frequent in cholestatic patients than in pregnant controls: C allele 76.2% (CI, 58.0-94.4) vs 51.3% (CI 35.8-66.7), respectively (P = 0.0007); and CC allele 57.1% (CI 36.0-78.3) vs 20% (CI 7.6-32.4), respectively (P = 0.0065). All four CIC patients were homozygous carriers of the C allele. In contrast, none of the studied ABCC2 polymorphism was overrepresented in ICP or CIC patients. Higher serum bile acid levels were found in carriers of the 1331CC genotype compared to carriers of the TT genotype. CONCLUSION: Our data support a role for the ABCB11 1331T〉C polymorphism as a susceptibility factor for the development of estrogen-induced cholestasis, whereas no such association was found for ABCC2. Serum bile acid and 7-glutamyl transferase levels might help to distinguish ABCB4- and ABCB11-related forms of ICP and CIC.展开更多

The removal fluxes and residence time of ^(234)Th in theupper water column were calculated by using irreversible steady-state scavenging model. The resultsshowed that, total ^(234)Th was deficit relative to its parent ^(238)U in the western Arctic Oceanexcept in the western Chukchi shelf and the slope regions around 160°W, indicating that scavengingand removal processes play an important role in element biogeochemical cycle in the Arctic Ocean. Inthe western Chukchi shelf and the slope regions around 160°W, total ^(234)Th was excess relativeto ^(238)U, ascribing to the horizontal input of ^(234)Th adsorbed by ice-rafted sediments.Thorium-234 removal fluxes decreased from the shelf to the deep ocean, while the residence time of^(234)Th increased from shelf to offshore, demonstrating that particle scavenging and removalprocesses are more active in the shelf regions. The estimated POC export fluxes from 40 m in theshelf regions and from 100 m in the slope and deep ocean varied between 1.6 and 27.5 mmol/(m^2·d),and between 1.8 and 14.4 mmol/(m^2·d), respectively. The averaged POC export fluxes over the entirewater column decreased from the shelf to the deep ocean, indicating that the Chukchi shelf is animportant region for organic carbon sequestration. The high ThE ratios (ratio of POC export fluxderived from ^(234)Th/^(238)U disequilibria to primary production) in the western Arctic Oceansuggested that the biological pump runs actively in high-latitudes.展开更多

Depth profiles of dissolved and particulate 234Th activities were measured in the upper 60m, showing a significant deficit relative to 23Su over the investigated stations. A stratified structure of 234Th-23su disequilibrium was in general observed in the upper 60 m water column, indicating that the euphotic zone of the northwestern SCS in this reason can be divided into two layers, an upper and lower layer, with different export rates. POC export fluxes were estimated from a one-dimensional steady state model of 234Th fluxes in combination with the measurement of POC/234Th ratios on suspended particles. The POC export in this region ranged from 8.2 to 20.0 mmol/(m2.d), with an average of 16.0 mmol/(m2-d), and was slightly higher than those previously reported in the southern SCS.展开更多

文摘Food safety standard draws increasing concerns on agricultural trade throughout the world. This paper aims to assess the impact of maximum residual limit standard(MRL) of chloromycetin on honey exporting from China. To achieve this objective, the paper discusses the trends of China's honey production and export practices, analyzes changes on MRL of chloromycetin adopted by major importing countries, and use a gravity model to estimate the impact of MRL of chloromycetin on China's honey export. The results show that despite the rapid growth of China's honey production, honey export has declined significantly since 2000.The major reason of declining honey export was mainly due to the more stringent food safety standards indicated by MRL of chloromycetin imposed by importing countries on their honey imports.

文摘The COVID-19 outbreak has shocked the world’s economies in the year of 2020.As this pandemic spreads around the globe, many experts feared that the global food supplies might start running short, especially if supply chains were disrupted.COVID-19 also added to the uncertainty of the business operation. Therefore,it is critical to understand how COVID-19 pandemic affected global food supply and market. In this study,we investigate the impact of COVID-19 on agricultural export companies in China using a unique firm-level survey data.We found that although on average agricultural businesses experienced declines in the exports, exports of some agricultural products especially grain and oil held strong and even increased, implying the essential demand for staple food during the pandemic. Not surprisingly, exports of medicinal herb also increased significantly during the pandemic. However, exports of goods such as edible fungus and horticultural products sharply decreased. Our results also showed that in general, impact of COVID-19 on smaller firms was more severe than that on larger firms. The results of this study can provide useful guidance and implications for agricultural businesses and policy makers on their COVID-19 mitigation efforts to navigate this global pandemic.

文摘In order to elucidate the regional export variation of participate organiccarbon in the western Arctic Ocean, samples vertically integrated between 0 and 100 m depth orbetween 0 and 30 m/40 m depth were collected for total ^(234)Th measurements and those from 30 m/40m or 100 m depth were collected for paniculate ^(234)Th measurements during the Second ChineseArctic Expedition in July— September 2003. The high ThE ratios (ratio of POC export fluxderived from ^(234)Th/^(238)U disequilibria to primary production) in the western Arctic Oceansuggested that the biological pump runs actively in high-latitudes.

文摘234Th was utilized as a tracer of particulate organic carbon (POC) export in the northwestern South China Sea (SCS) on the basis of the data collected at four stations during a spring cruise. The POC export in this region ranged from 8.2 to 20.0 mmol/(m2.d), with an average of 16.0 mmol/(m2-d), and was slightly higher than those previously reported in the southern SCS.

文摘In recent years, carbon emissions have gradually evolved from an environment issue into a political and economic one.Carbon tariff has brought about new trade barriers of developed countries, and in order to enhance the industrial competitiveness of developed countries,it will produce unfavorable impact on developing countries.Concentrated on the manufacturing industry, which is the most intensive high-carbon industry in China's export structure, this article studies the relationship between carbon tariff policy and industry structure of export trade and builds up a relation between climate change and international trade.First,by means of establishing a partial equilibrium model,it applies geometric analysis and mathematical analysis to compute the impact on China's manufacturing export trade and the consequences of the introduction of the US carbon tariff to China's manufacturing industry that has already imposed a domestic shipping carbon tax.Furthermore, with the application of the GTAP model,it estimates the overall economic and welfare effects on China's manufacturing industry if the US and Europe introduce carbon tariff by means of four ways, and then analyzes the influence on China's manufacturing industry export structure and social welfare as well. The result shows that the introduction of the US carbon import tariff lowers China's export price and export volume, and the implementation of a domestic carbon tax justifies a higher export price and a lower export volume for China. However, the degree of export reduction is smaller than that under the effect of the US carbon tariff. In the case of developed countries imposing carbon tariff on China's energy-intensive industries, such as chemical rubber products, oil and coal-processing industry and paper industry, whose export would be reduced, the negative impact on the paper industry is the severest, which will decrease the paper industry's export ranging from 1.79%to 6.05%,whereas the other industries' export will increase.Anyhow,it will promote China's manufacturing industry to adjust the export structure to a certain extent. In addition,it will lead to a decrease in China's welfare, with a decrease between $2,134 billion and $8,347 billion. Finally, this paper provides information on international coordination, export structure adjustment and green manufacturing adjustment as a reference for the development of China's manufacturing industry.
