Three geometric parameters, including hole length, lateral expansion angle and forward expansion angle, were selected as the design parameters. Numerical model of the film cooling system was established, validated, and used to generate 32 groups of training samples. Least square support vector machine(LS-SVM) was applied for surrogate model, and the optimal design parameters were determined by a kind of chaotic optimization algorithm. As hole length, lateral expansion angle and forward expansion angle are 90 mm, 20° and 5°, the area-averaged film cooling effectiveness can reach its maximum value in the design space. LS-SVM coupled with chaotic optimization algorithm is a promising scheme for the optimization of shaped film cooling holes.展开更多

A difunctional macroinitiator was prepared by esterification of 2,2-dichloroacetyl chloride with poly(ethylene glycol) monomethyl ether (PEG). The copolymers were obtained via the ATRP ofN-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) at 30℃ with CuCl/Me6TREN as a catalyst system and DMF/H2O (v/v = 3:1) mixture as solvent. The resulting copolymers were characterized by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and ^1H NMR. These block copolymers show controllable molecular weights and narrow molecular weight distributions (PDI 〈 1.15). Their phase transition temperatures and the corresponding enthalpy changes in aqueous solution were measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). As a result, the phase transition temperature of PEG45-b-(PNIPAM55)2 is higher than that of PNIPAM, however, the corresponding enthalpy change is much lower, indicating the significant influence of the macromolecular composition and architecture on the phase transition.展开更多

On the basis of the representation of Corner Block List (CBL), we propose a new method of handling rectilinear blocks. In this paper, the handling of the rectilinear blocks is simplified by transforming the L/T- shaped block problem into the Mign-abutment constraint problem. We devise the block rejoining process and block alignment operation for forming the L/T-shaped blocks into their original configurations. The shape flexibility of the soft blocks, and the rotation and reflection of L/T-shaped blocks are exploited to obtain a tight packing. The empty rooms are introduced to the process of block rejoining. The efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed method are demonstrated by the experimental results on a set of some benchmark examples.展开更多

The influence of different confinements active on the crystallization and self-nucleation (SN) behavior of the PEG blocks was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). When the content of the crystalline block was high, a classical SN behavior was obtained. The block copolymer with PEG content of 49% (by weight) showed a classical SN behavior with a narrow self-nucleation domain and had bimodal crystallization exotherms. When the PEG dispersed as separated microdomains in the block copolymer, the self-nucleation domain disappeared and only annealing was observed.展开更多

With the aim of elucidating the formation of the biotic cup-shaped morphology, this study investigated cup-shaped vesicles consisting of an amphiphilic diblock copolymer from the aspect of synthetic polymer chemistry. Cup-shaped vesicles were obtained by the polymerization-induced self-assembly of poly(methacrylic acid)-block-poly(n-butyl methacrylate-random-methacrylic acid), PMAA-b-P(BMA-r-MAA), in an aqueous methanol solution using the photo nitroxide-mediated controlled/living radical polymerization technique. Field emission scanning electron microscopic observations demonstrated that the cup-shaped vesicles were suddenly formed during the late stage of the polymerization due to the extension of the hydrophobic P(BMA-r-MAA) block chain. During the early stage, the polymerization produced spherical vesicles rather than a cup shape. As the hydrophobic block chain was extended by the polymerization progress, the spherical vesicles reduced the size and were accompanied by the generation of small particles that were attached to the vesicles. The vesicles continued to reduce the size due to further extension of the hydrophobic chain;however, they suddenly grew into cup-shaped vesicles. This growth was accounted for by a change in the critical packing shape of the copolymer due to the hydrophobic chain extension. These findings are helpful for a better understanding of the biotic cup-shaped vesicle formation.展开更多
