To o...When used for separating multi-component non-stationary signals, the adaptive time-varying filter(ATF) based on multi-scale chirplet sparse signal decomposition(MCSSD) generates phase shift and signal distortion. To overcome this drawback, the zero phase filter is introduced to the mentioned filter, and a fault diagnosis method for speed-changing gearbox is proposed. Firstly, the gear meshing frequency of each gearbox is estimated by chirplet path pursuit. Then, according to the estimated gear meshing frequencies, an adaptive zero phase time-varying filter(AZPTF) is designed to filter the original signal. Finally, the basis for fault diagnosis is acquired by the envelope order analysis to the filtered signal. The signal consisting of two time-varying amplitude modulation and frequency modulation(AM-FM) signals is respectively analyzed by ATF and AZPTF based on MCSSD. The simulation results show the variances between the original signals and the filtered signals yielded by AZPTF based on MCSSD are 13.67 and 41.14, which are far less than variances (323.45 and 482.86) between the original signals and the filtered signals obtained by ATF based on MCSSD. The experiment results on the vibration signals of gearboxes indicate that the vibration signals of the two speed-changing gearboxes installed on one foundation bed can be separated by AZPTF effectively. Based on the demodulation information of the vibration signal of each gearbox, the fault diagnosis can be implemented. Both simulation and experiment examples prove that the proposed filter can extract a mono-component time-varying AM-FM signal from the multi-component time-varying AM-FM signal without distortion.展开更多

The fault detection and state identification can be achieved based on the fact that the sparse representation errors of the signal on different dictionaries are different. The effects of the representation error threshold and the number of dictionary atoms used in signal decomposition to the fault diagnosis are analyzed. First, FCM clustering is employed to classify the data into different clusters, which helps to estimate whether there is a fault and how many fault types there are. If fault signals exist, the fault vibration signals are then demodulated and decomposed into different frequency bands by MMEMD in order to be analyzed further. In order to overcome the mode mixing defect of empirical mode decomposition (EMD), a novel method called MMEMD is proposed. It is an improvement to masking empirical mode decomposition (MEMD). By adding multi-masking signals to the signals to be decomposed in different levels, it can restrain low-frequency components from mixing in highfrequency components effectively in the sifting process and then suppress the mode mixing. It has the advantages of easy implementation and strong ability of suppressing modal mixing. The fault type is determined by Hilbert envelope finally. The results of simulation signal decomposition showed the high performance of MMEMD. Experiments of bearing fault diagnosis in wind turbine bearing fault diagnosis proved the validity and high accuracy of the new method.展开更多
Many kinds of electrical equipment are used in civil and building engineering.The motor is one of the main power components of this electrical equipment,which can provide stable power output.During the long-term use o...Many kinds of electrical equipment are used in civil and building engineering.The motor is one of the main power components of this electrical equipment,which can provide stable power output.During the long-term use of motors,various motor faults may occur,which affects the normal use of electrical equipment and even causes accidents.It is significant to apply fault diagnosis for the motors at the construction site.Aiming at the problem that signal data of faulty motor lack diversity,this research designs a multi-layer perceptron Wasserstein generative adversarial network,which is used to enhance training data through distribution fusion.A discrete wavelet decomposition algorithm is employed to extract the low-frequency wavelet coefficients from the original motor current signals.These are used to train themulti-layer perceptron Wasserstein generative adversarial model.Then,the trainedmodel is applied to generate fake current wavelet coefficients with the fused distribution.A motor fault classification model consisting of a feature extractor and pattern recognizer is built based on perceptron.The data augmentation experiment shows that the fake dataset has a larger distribution than the real dataset.The classification model trained on a real dataset,fake dataset and combined dataset achieves 21.5%,87.2%,and 90.1%prediction accuracy on the unseen real data,respectively.The results indicate that the proposed data augmentation method can effectively generate fake data with the fused distribution.The motor fault classification model trained on a fake dataset has better generalization performance than that trained on a real dataset.展开更多

Based on feature compression with orthogonal locality preserving projection(OLPP),a novel fault diagnosis model is proposed in this paper to achieve automation and high-precision of fault diagnosis of rotating machi...Based on feature compression with orthogonal locality preserving projection(OLPP),a novel fault diagnosis model is proposed in this paper to achieve automation and high-precision of fault diagnosis of rotating machinery.With this model,the original vibration signals of training and test samples are first decomposed through the empirical mode decomposition(EMD),and Shannon entropy is constructed to achieve high-dimensional eigenvectors.In order to replace the traditional feature extraction way which does the selection manually,OLPP is introduced to automatically compress the high-dimensional eigenvectors of training and test samples into the low-dimensional eigenvectors which have better discrimination.After that,the low-dimensional eigenvectors of training samples are input into Morlet wavelet support vector machine(MWSVM) and a trained MWSVM is obtained.Finally,the low-dimensional eigenvectors of test samples are input into the trained MWSVM to carry out fault diagnosis.To evaluate our proposed model,the experiment of fault diagnosis of deep groove ball bearings is made,and the experiment results indicate that the recognition accuracy rate of the proposed diagnosis model for outer race crack、inner race crack and ball crack is more than 90%.Compared to the existing approaches,the proposed diagnosis model combines the strengths of EMD in fault feature extraction,OLPP in feature compression and MWSVM in pattern recognition,and realizes the automation and high-precision of fault diagnosis.展开更多
The impulsive components induced by bearing faults are key features for assessing gear-box bearing faults.However,because of heavy background noise and the interferences of other vibrations,it is difficult to extract ...The impulsive components induced by bearing faults are key features for assessing gear-box bearing faults.However,because of heavy background noise and the interferences of other vibrations,it is difficult to extract these impulsive components caused by faults,particularly early faults,from the measured vibration signals.To capture the high-level structure of impulsive components embedded in measured vibration signals,a dictionary learning method called shift-invariant K-means singular value decomposition(SI-K-SVD)dictionary learning is used to detect the early faults of gear-box bearings.Although SI-K-SVD is more flexible and adaptable than existing methods,the improper selection of two SI-K-SVD-related parameters,namely,the number of iterations and the pattern lengths,has an adverse influence on fault detection performance.Therefore,the sparsity of the envelope spectrum(SES)and the kurtosis of the envelope spectrum(KES)are used to select these two key parameters,respectively.SI-K-SVD with the two selected optimal parameter values,referred to as optimal parameter SI-K-SVD(OP-SI-K-SVD),is proposed to detect gear-box bearing faults.The proposed method is verified by both simulations and an experiment.Compared to the state-of-the-art methods,namely,empirical model decomposition,wavelet transform and K-SVD,OP-SI-K-SVD has better performance in diagnosing the early faults of a gear-box bearing.展开更多

Multi-bandwidth mode manifold(Triple M, TM) is one variation of the VMD, which units mul...Variational mode decomposition(VMD) has been proved to be useful for extraction of fault-induced transients of rolling bearings. Multi-bandwidth mode manifold(Triple M, TM) is one variation of the VMD, which units multiple fault-related modes with different bandwidths by a nonlinear manifold learning algorithm named local tangent space alignment(LTSA). The merit of the TM method is that the bearing fault-induced transients extracted contain low level of in-band noise without optimization of the VMD parameters. However, the determination of the neighborhood size of the LTSA is time-consuming, and the extracted fault-induced transients may have the problem of asymmetry in the up-and-down direction. This paper aims to improve the efficiency and waveform symmetry of the TM method.Specifically, the multi-bandwidth modes consisting of the fault-related modes with different bandwidths are first obtained by repeating the recycling VMD(RVMD) method with different bandwidth balance parameters. Then, the LTSA algorithm is performed on the multi-bandwidth modes to extract their inherent manifold structure, in which the natural nearest neighbor(Triple N, TN) algorithm is adopted to efficiently and reasonably select the neighbors of each data point in the multi-bandwidth modes. Finally, a weight-based feature compensation strategy is designed to synthesize the low-dimensional manifold features to alleviate the asymmetry problem, resulting in a symmetric TM feature that can represent the real fault transient components. The major contribution of the improved TM method for bearing fault diagnosis is that the pure fault-induced transients are extracted efficiently and are symmetrical as the real. One simulation analysis and two experimental applications in bearing fault diagnosis validate the enhanced performance of the improved TM method over the traditional methods. This research proposes a bearing fault diagnosis method which has the advantages of high efficiency, good waveform symmetry and enhanced in-band noise removal capability.展开更多

Furthermore, a fault diagnosis method for reciprocating compressors based on empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and CA function is proposed, and then it is applied to the fault diagnosis of reciprocating compressor valve. Firstly, the vibration signal of reciprocating compressor valve is decomposed by using ENID method, and several intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) are obtained. Secondly, the IMFs are evaluated by some denoising criterions to remove the noise and interfering ones. Finally, the CA functions of the remained IMFs are calculated, which will be used to reconstruct the CA function of the original vibration signal. Engineering application indicates that this method can sufficiently inhibit the cross-interference items of CA function. Therefore, more explicit working conditions of reciprocating compressor components can be achieved.展开更多

Firstly, the vibration signals were acquired through the vibration sensors installed on the cylinder head in one normal state and four fault states of valve trains. Secondly, an improved LMD method was used to decompose the non-stationary signals into a set of stationary product functions(PF), from which the initial feature vector matrices can be formed automatically. Then, the singular values were obtained by applying the SVD technique to the initial feature vector matrixes. Finally, slant binary tree and sort separability criterion were combined to determine the structure of multi-class RVM, and the singular values were regarded as the fault feature vectors of RVM in the identification of fault types of diesel valve clearance. The experimental results showed that the proposed fault diagnosis method can effectively extract the features of diesel valve clearance and identify the diesel valve fault accurately.展开更多
Condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of gearboxes play an important role in the maintenance of mechanical systems.The vibration signal of gearboxes is characterized by complex spectral structure and strong time va...Condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of gearboxes play an important role in the maintenance of mechanical systems.The vibration signal of gearboxes is characterized by complex spectral structure and strong time variability,which brings challenges to fault feature extraction.To address this issue,a new demodulation technique,based on the Fourier decomposition method and resonance demodulation,is proposed to extract fault-related information.First,the Fourier decomposition method decomposes the vibration signal into Fourier intrinsic band functions(FIBFs)adaptively in the frequency domain.Then,the original signal is segmented into short-time vectors to construct double-row matrices and the maximum singular value ratio method is employed to estimate the resonance frequency.Then,the resonance frequency is used as a criterion to guide the selection of the most relevant FIBF for demodulation analysis.Finally,for the optimal FIBF,envelope demodulation is conducted to identify the fault characteristic frequency.The main contributions are that the proposed method describes how to obtain the resonance frequency effectively and how to select the optimal FIBF after decomposition in order to extract the fault characteristic frequency.Both numerical and experimental studies are conducted to investigate the performance of the proposed method.It is demonstrated that the proposed method can effectively demodulate the fault information from the original signal.展开更多

The vibration signal's condition parameters are first extracted by applying the wavelet packet decomposition with multiple mother wavelets, and the coefficients' energy content for terminal nodes is used as the input feature for the classification problem. Then, a study through the parameters' space to find the best values for the number of trees and the number of random features is performed. In this way, the best set of mother wavelets for the application is identified and the best features are selected through the internal ranking of the random forest classifier. The results show that the proposed method reached 98.68% in classification accuracy, and high efficiency and robustness in the models.展开更多
Targeting the mode-mixing problem of intrinsic time-scale decomposition (ITD) and the parameter optimization problem of least-square support vector machine (LSSVM), we propose a novel approach based on complete en...Targeting the mode-mixing problem of intrinsic time-scale decomposition (ITD) and the parameter optimization problem of least-square support vector machine (LSSVM), we propose a novel approach based on complete ensemble intrinsic time-scale decomposition (CEITD) and LSSVM optimized by the hybrid differential evolution and particle swarm optimization (HDEPSO) algorithm for the identification of the fault in a diesel engine. The approach consists mainly of three stages. First, to solve the mode-mixing problem of ITD, a novel CEITD method is proposed. Then the CEITD method is used to decompose the nonstationary vibration signal into a set of stationary proper rotation components (PRCs) and a residual signal. Second, three typical types of time-frequency features, namely singular values, PRCs energy and energy entropy, and AR model parameters, are extracted from the first several PRCs and used as the fault feature vectors. Finally, a HDEPSO algorithm is proposed for the parameter optimization of LSSVM, and the fault diagnosis results can be obtained by inputting the fault feature vectors into the HDEPSO-LSSVM classifier. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed fault diagnosis approach can overcome the mode-mixing problem of ITD and accurately identify the fault patterns of diesel engines.展开更多
Multiple faults are easily confused with single faults.In order to identify multiple faults more accurately,a highly efficient learning method is proposed based on a double parallel two-hidden-layer extreme learning m...Multiple faults are easily confused with single faults.In order to identify multiple faults more accurately,a highly efficient learning method is proposed based on a double parallel two-hidden-layer extreme learning machine,called DPTELM.The DPT-ELM method is a variant of an extreme learning machine(ELM).There are some issues with ELM.First,achieving a high accuracy requires too many hidden nodes;second,the direct connection between the input layer and the output layer is ignored.Accordingly,to deal with the above-mentioned problems,DPT-ELM extends the single-hidden-layer ELM to a two-hidden-layer ELM,which can achieve a desired performance with fewer hidden nodes.In addition,a direct connection is built between the input layer and the output layer.Since the input layer weights and the thresholds of the two hidden layers are determined randomly,this simplifies the improved model and shortens the calculation time.Additionally,to improve the signal to noise ratio(SNR),an adaptive waveform decomposition(AWD)algorithm is used to denoise the vibration signal.Then,the denoised signal is used to extract the eigenvalues by the time-domain and frequency-domain methods.Finally,the eigenvalues are input to the DPT-ELM classifier.In this paper,two groups of rolling bearing data at different speeds,which were collected from a real experimental platform,are used to test the method.Each set of data includes three single fault states,two complex fault states and a healthy state.The experimental results demonstrate that the DPT-ELM method achieves fast learning speed and a high accuracy.Moreover,based on 10-fold cross-validation,it proves to be an effective method to improve the accuracy with fewer hidden nodes.展开更多

However, the signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs)of the vibration acceleration signals are often so small that the periodic impulse components aresubmersed in much background noises and other components, and it is difficult or inconvenient for usto detect and extract the periodic impulse components with the current common analyzing methods forvibration signals. Therefore, another technique, called singular value decomposition (SVD), istried to be introduced to solve the problem. First, the principle of detecting and extracting thesignal periodic components using singular value decomposition is summarized and discussed. Second,the infeasibility of the direct use of the existing SVD based detecting and extracting approach ispointed out. Third, the approach to construct the matrix for SVD from the signal series is improvedlargely, which is the key program to improve the SVD technique; Other associated improvement is alsoproposed. It is one of the most important steps for precise diagnosis to decompose the signal and extracts the effective information properly. The traditional classical adaptive signal decomposition method, such as EMD, exists the problems of mode mixing, low decomposition accuracy etc. Aiming at those problems, EAED(extreme average envelope decomposition) method is presented based on EMD. EAED method has three advantages. Firstly, it is completed through midpoint envelopment method rather than using maximum and minimum envelopment respectively as used in EMD. Therefore, the average variability of the signal can be described accurately. Secondly, in order to reduce the envelope errors during the signal decomposition, replacing two envelopes with one envelope strategy is presented. Thirdly, the similar triangle principle is utilized to calculate the time of extreme average points accurately. Thus, the influence of sampling frequency on the calculation results can be significantly reduced. Experimental results show that EAED could separate out single frequency components from a complex signal gradually. EAED could not only isolate three kinds of typical bearing fault characteristic of vibration frequency components but also has fewer decomposition layers. EAED replaces quadratic enveloping to an envelope which ensuring to isolate the fault characteristic frequency under the condition of less decomposition layers. 文摘Incomplete fault signal characteristics and ease of noise contamination are issues with the current rolling bearing early fault diagnostic methods,making it challenging to ensure the fault diagnosis accuracy and reliability.A novel approach integrating enhanced Symplectic geometry mode decomposition with cosine difference limitation and calculus operator(ESGMD-CC)and artificial fish swarm algorithm(AFSA)optimized extreme learning machine(ELM)is proposed in this paper to enhance the extraction capability of fault features and thus improve the accuracy of fault diagnosis.Firstly,SGMD decomposes the raw vibration signal into multiple Symplectic geometry components(SGCs).Secondly,the iterations are reset by the cosine difference limitation to effectively separate the redundant components from the representative components.Additionally,the calculus operator is performed to strengthen weak fault features and make them easier to extract,and the singular value decomposition(SVD)weighted by power spectrum entropy(PSE)can be utilized as the sample feature representation.Finally,AFSA iteratively optimized ELM is adopted as the optimized classifier for fault identification.The superior performance of the proposed method has been validated by various experiments.

文摘To solve the problems of a few optical fibre line fault samples and the inefficiency of manual communication optical fibre fault diagnosis,this paper proposes a communication optical fibre fault diagnosis model based on variational modal decomposition(VMD),fuzzy entropy(FE)and fuzzy clustering(FC).Firstly,based on the OTDR curve data collected in the field,VMD is used to extract the different modal components(IMF)of the original signal and calculate the fuzzy entropy(FE)values of different components to characterize the subtle differences between them.The fuzzy entropy of each curve is used as the feature vector,which in turn constructs the communication optical fibre feature vector matrix,and the fuzzy clustering algorithm is used to achieve fault diagnosis of faulty optical fibre.The VMD-FE combination can extract subtle differences in features,and the fuzzy clustering algorithm does not require sample training.The experimental results show that the model in this paper has high accuracy and is relevant to the maintenance of communication optical fibre when compared with existing feature extraction models and traditional machine learning models.

文摘When used for separating multi-component non-stationary signals, the adaptive time-varying filter(ATF) based on multi-scale chirplet sparse signal decomposition(MCSSD) generates phase shift and signal distortion. To overcome this drawback, the zero phase filter is introduced to the mentioned filter, and a fault diagnosis method for speed-changing gearbox is proposed. Firstly, the gear meshing frequency of each gearbox is estimated by chirplet path pursuit. Then, according to the estimated gear meshing frequencies, an adaptive zero phase time-varying filter(AZPTF) is designed to filter the original signal. Finally, the basis for fault diagnosis is acquired by the envelope order analysis to the filtered signal. The signal consisting of two time-varying amplitude modulation and frequency modulation(AM-FM) signals is respectively analyzed by ATF and AZPTF based on MCSSD. The simulation results show the variances between the original signals and the filtered signals yielded by AZPTF based on MCSSD are 13.67 and 41.14, which are far less than variances (323.45 and 482.86) between the original signals and the filtered signals obtained by ATF based on MCSSD. The experiment results on the vibration signals of gearboxes indicate that the vibration signals of the two speed-changing gearboxes installed on one foundation bed can be separated by AZPTF effectively. Based on the demodulation information of the vibration signal of each gearbox, the fault diagnosis can be implemented. Both simulation and experiment examples prove that the proposed filter can extract a mono-component time-varying AM-FM signal from the multi-component time-varying AM-FM signal without distortion.

文摘A novel satellite fault diagnosis scheme is presented based on the predictive filter and empirical mode composition(EMD).First,the predictive filter is utilized to obtain the fault estimation,which is corrupted by noise.Then the EMD method is introduced to decompose the fault estimation into a finite number of intrinsic mode functions and extract the trend of faults for fault diagnosis.The proposed scheme has the ability of diagnosing both abrupt and incipient faults of the actuator in a satellite attitude control subsystem.A mathematical simulation is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

文摘The bearing fault information is often interfered or lost in the background noise after the vibration signal being transferred complicatedly, which will make it very difficult to extract fault features from the vibration signals. To avoid the problem in choosing and extracting the fault features in bearing fault diagnosing, a novelty fault diagnosis method based on sparse decomposition theory is proposed. Certain over-complete dictionaries are obtained by training, on which the bearing vibration signals corresponded to different states can be decomposed sparsely. The fault detection and state identification can be achieved based on the fact that the sparse representation errors of the signal on different dictionaries are different. The effects of the representation error threshold and the number of dictionary atoms used in signal decomposition to the fault diagnosis are analyzed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated with experimental bearing vibration signals.

文摘Bearing fault signal is nonlinear and non-stationary, therefore proposed a fault feature extraction method based on wavelet packet decomposition (WPD) and local mean decomposition (LMD) permutation entropy, which is based on the support vector machine (SVM) as the feature vector pattern recognition device Firstly, the wavelet packet analysis method is used to denoise the original vibration signal, and the frequency band division and signal reconstruction are carried out according to the characteristic frequency. Then the decomposition of the reconstructed signal is decomposed into a number of product functions (PE) by the local mean decomposition (LMD) , and the permutation entropy of the PF component which contains the main fault information is calculated to realize the feature quantization of the PF component. Finally, the entropy feature vector input multi-classification SVM, which is used to determine the type of fault and fault degree of bearing The experimental results show that the recognition rate of rolling bearing fault diagnosis is 95%. Comparing with other methods, the present this method can effectively extract the features of bearing fault and has a higher recognition accuracy

文摘Based on Multi-Masking Empirical Mode Decomposition (MMEMD) and fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering, a new method of wind turbine bearing fault diagnosis FCM-MMEMD is proposed, which can determine the fault accurately and timely. First, FCM clustering is employed to classify the data into different clusters, which helps to estimate whether there is a fault and how many fault types there are. If fault signals exist, the fault vibration signals are then demodulated and decomposed into different frequency bands by MMEMD in order to be analyzed further. In order to overcome the mode mixing defect of empirical mode decomposition (EMD), a novel method called MMEMD is proposed. It is an improvement to masking empirical mode decomposition (MEMD). By adding multi-masking signals to the signals to be decomposed in different levels, it can restrain low-frequency components from mixing in highfrequency components effectively in the sifting process and then suppress the mode mixing. It has the advantages of easy implementation and strong ability of suppressing modal mixing. The fault type is determined by Hilbert envelope finally. The results of simulation signal decomposition showed the high performance of MMEMD. Experiments of bearing fault diagnosis in wind turbine bearing fault diagnosis proved the validity and high accuracy of the new method.

文摘Many kinds of electrical equipment are used in civil and building engineering.The motor is one of the main power components of this electrical equipment,which can provide stable power output.During the long-term use of motors,various motor faults may occur,which affects the normal use of electrical equipment and even causes accidents.It is significant to apply fault diagnosis for the motors at the construction site.Aiming at the problem that signal data of faulty motor lack diversity,this research designs a multi-layer perceptron Wasserstein generative adversarial network,which is used to enhance training data through distribution fusion.A discrete wavelet decomposition algorithm is employed to extract the low-frequency wavelet coefficients from the original motor current signals.These are used to train themulti-layer perceptron Wasserstein generative adversarial model.Then,the trainedmodel is applied to generate fake current wavelet coefficients with the fused distribution.A motor fault classification model consisting of a feature extractor and pattern recognizer is built based on perceptron.The data augmentation experiment shows that the fake dataset has a larger distribution than the real dataset.The classification model trained on a real dataset,fake dataset and combined dataset achieves 21.5%,87.2%,and 90.1%prediction accuracy on the unseen real data,respectively.The results indicate that the proposed data augmentation method can effectively generate fake data with the fused distribution.The motor fault classification model trained on a fake dataset has better generalization performance than that trained on a real dataset.
文摘In order to improve the accuracy of wind turbine fault diagnosis,a wind turbine fault diagnosis method based on Subtraction-Average-Based Optimizer(SABO)optimized Variational Mode Decomposition(VMD)and Kernel Extreme Learning Machine(KELM)is proposed.Firstly,the SABO algorithm was used to optimize the VMD parameters and decompose the original signal to obtain the best modal components,and then the nine features were calculated to obtain the feature vectors.Secondly,the SABO algorithm was used to optimize the KELM parameters,and the training set and the test set were divided according to different proportions.The results were compared with the optimized model without SABO algorithm.The experimental results show that the fault diagnosis method of wind turbine based on SABO-VMD-KELM model can achieve fault diagnosis quickly and effectively,and has higher accuracy.

文摘Based on feature compression with orthogonal locality preserving projection(OLPP),a novel fault diagnosis model is proposed in this paper to achieve automation and high-precision of fault diagnosis of rotating machinery.With this model,the original vibration signals of training and test samples are first decomposed through the empirical mode decomposition(EMD),and Shannon entropy is constructed to achieve high-dimensional eigenvectors.In order to replace the traditional feature extraction way which does the selection manually,OLPP is introduced to automatically compress the high-dimensional eigenvectors of training and test samples into the low-dimensional eigenvectors which have better discrimination.After that,the low-dimensional eigenvectors of training samples are input into Morlet wavelet support vector machine(MWSVM) and a trained MWSVM is obtained.Finally,the low-dimensional eigenvectors of test samples are input into the trained MWSVM to carry out fault diagnosis.To evaluate our proposed model,the experiment of fault diagnosis of deep groove ball bearings is made,and the experiment results indicate that the recognition accuracy rate of the proposed diagnosis model for outer race crack、inner race crack and ball crack is more than 90%.Compared to the existing approaches,the proposed diagnosis model combines the strengths of EMD in fault feature extraction,OLPP in feature compression and MWSVM in pattern recognition,and realizes the automation and high-precision of fault diagnosis.

文摘The impulsive components induced by bearing faults are key features for assessing gear-box bearing faults.However,because of heavy background noise and the interferences of other vibrations,it is difficult to extract these impulsive components caused by faults,particularly early faults,from the measured vibration signals.To capture the high-level structure of impulsive components embedded in measured vibration signals,a dictionary learning method called shift-invariant K-means singular value decomposition(SI-K-SVD)dictionary learning is used to detect the early faults of gear-box bearings.Although SI-K-SVD is more flexible and adaptable than existing methods,the improper selection of two SI-K-SVD-related parameters,namely,the number of iterations and the pattern lengths,has an adverse influence on fault detection performance.Therefore,the sparsity of the envelope spectrum(SES)and the kurtosis of the envelope spectrum(KES)are used to select these two key parameters,respectively.SI-K-SVD with the two selected optimal parameter values,referred to as optimal parameter SI-K-SVD(OP-SI-K-SVD),is proposed to detect gear-box bearing faults.The proposed method is verified by both simulations and an experiment.Compared to the state-of-the-art methods,namely,empirical model decomposition,wavelet transform and K-SVD,OP-SI-K-SVD has better performance in diagnosing the early faults of a gear-box bearing.

文摘Variational mode decomposition(VMD) has been proved to be useful for extraction of fault-induced transients of rolling bearings. Multi-bandwidth mode manifold(Triple M, TM) is one variation of the VMD, which units multiple fault-related modes with different bandwidths by a nonlinear manifold learning algorithm named local tangent space alignment(LTSA). The merit of the TM method is that the bearing fault-induced transients extracted contain low level of in-band noise without optimization of the VMD parameters. However, the determination of the neighborhood size of the LTSA is time-consuming, and the extracted fault-induced transients may have the problem of asymmetry in the up-and-down direction. This paper aims to improve the efficiency and waveform symmetry of the TM method.Specifically, the multi-bandwidth modes consisting of the fault-related modes with different bandwidths are first obtained by repeating the recycling VMD(RVMD) method with different bandwidth balance parameters. Then, the LTSA algorithm is performed on the multi-bandwidth modes to extract their inherent manifold structure, in which the natural nearest neighbor(Triple N, TN) algorithm is adopted to efficiently and reasonably select the neighbors of each data point in the multi-bandwidth modes. Finally, a weight-based feature compensation strategy is designed to synthesize the low-dimensional manifold features to alleviate the asymmetry problem, resulting in a symmetric TM feature that can represent the real fault transient components. The major contribution of the improved TM method for bearing fault diagnosis is that the pure fault-induced transients are extracted efficiently and are symmetrical as the real. One simulation analysis and two experimental applications in bearing fault diagnosis validate the enhanced performance of the improved TM method over the traditional methods. This research proposes a bearing fault diagnosis method which has the advantages of high efficiency, good waveform symmetry and enhanced in-band noise removal capability.

文摘The relationship between second-order cyclostationary method and time-frequency distribution is studied, and cyclic autocorrelation(CA) function is indicated to be one sort of special time-frequency distribution method. Furthermore, a fault diagnosis method for reciprocating compressors based on empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and CA function is proposed, and then it is applied to the fault diagnosis of reciprocating compressor valve. Firstly, the vibration signal of reciprocating compressor valve is decomposed by using ENID method, and several intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) are obtained. Secondly, the IMFs are evaluated by some denoising criterions to remove the noise and interfering ones. Finally, the CA functions of the remained IMFs are calculated, which will be used to reconstruct the CA function of the original vibration signal. Engineering application indicates that this method can sufficiently inhibit the cross-interference items of CA function. Therefore, more explicit working conditions of reciprocating compressor components can be achieved.

文摘Targeting the non-stationary characteristics of diesel engine vibration signals and the limitations of singular value decomposition(SVD) technique, a new method based on improved local mean decomposition(LMD), SVD technique and relevance vector machine(RVM) was proposed for the identification of diesel valve fault in this study. Firstly, the vibration signals were acquired through the vibration sensors installed on the cylinder head in one normal state and four fault states of valve trains. Secondly, an improved LMD method was used to decompose the non-stationary signals into a set of stationary product functions(PF), from which the initial feature vector matrices can be formed automatically. Then, the singular values were obtained by applying the SVD technique to the initial feature vector matrixes. Finally, slant binary tree and sort separability criterion were combined to determine the structure of multi-class RVM, and the singular values were regarded as the fault feature vectors of RVM in the identification of fault types of diesel valve clearance. The experimental results showed that the proposed fault diagnosis method can effectively extract the features of diesel valve clearance and identify the diesel valve fault accurately.

文摘Condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of gearboxes play an important role in the maintenance of mechanical systems.The vibration signal of gearboxes is characterized by complex spectral structure and strong time variability,which brings challenges to fault feature extraction.To address this issue,a new demodulation technique,based on the Fourier decomposition method and resonance demodulation,is proposed to extract fault-related information.First,the Fourier decomposition method decomposes the vibration signal into Fourier intrinsic band functions(FIBFs)adaptively in the frequency domain.Then,the original signal is segmented into short-time vectors to construct double-row matrices and the maximum singular value ratio method is employed to estimate the resonance frequency.Then,the resonance frequency is used as a criterion to guide the selection of the most relevant FIBF for demodulation analysis.Finally,for the optimal FIBF,envelope demodulation is conducted to identify the fault characteristic frequency.The main contributions are that the proposed method describes how to obtain the resonance frequency effectively and how to select the optimal FIBF after decomposition in order to extract the fault characteristic frequency.Both numerical and experimental studies are conducted to investigate the performance of the proposed method.It is demonstrated that the proposed method can effectively demodulate the fault information from the original signal.
文摘This paper addresses the development of a random forest classifier for the muki-class fault diagnosis in spur gearboxes. The vibration signal's condition parameters are first extracted by applying the wavelet packet decomposition with multiple mother wavelets, and the coefficients' energy content for terminal nodes is used as the input feature for the classification problem. Then, a study through the parameters' space to find the best values for the number of trees and the number of random features is performed. In this way, the best set of mother wavelets for the application is identified and the best features are selected through the internal ranking of the random forest classifier. The results show that the proposed method reached 98.68% in classification accuracy, and high efficiency and robustness in the models.

文摘Targeting the mode-mixing problem of intrinsic time-scale decomposition (ITD) and the parameter optimization problem of least-square support vector machine (LSSVM), we propose a novel approach based on complete ensemble intrinsic time-scale decomposition (CEITD) and LSSVM optimized by the hybrid differential evolution and particle swarm optimization (HDEPSO) algorithm for the identification of the fault in a diesel engine. The approach consists mainly of three stages. First, to solve the mode-mixing problem of ITD, a novel CEITD method is proposed. Then the CEITD method is used to decompose the nonstationary vibration signal into a set of stationary proper rotation components (PRCs) and a residual signal. Second, three typical types of time-frequency features, namely singular values, PRCs energy and energy entropy, and AR model parameters, are extracted from the first several PRCs and used as the fault feature vectors. Finally, a HDEPSO algorithm is proposed for the parameter optimization of LSSVM, and the fault diagnosis results can be obtained by inputting the fault feature vectors into the HDEPSO-LSSVM classifier. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed fault diagnosis approach can overcome the mode-mixing problem of ITD and accurately identify the fault patterns of diesel engines.

文摘Multiple faults are easily confused with single faults.In order to identify multiple faults more accurately,a highly efficient learning method is proposed based on a double parallel two-hidden-layer extreme learning machine,called DPTELM.The DPT-ELM method is a variant of an extreme learning machine(ELM).There are some issues with ELM.First,achieving a high accuracy requires too many hidden nodes;second,the direct connection between the input layer and the output layer is ignored.Accordingly,to deal with the above-mentioned problems,DPT-ELM extends the single-hidden-layer ELM to a two-hidden-layer ELM,which can achieve a desired performance with fewer hidden nodes.In addition,a direct connection is built between the input layer and the output layer.Since the input layer weights and the thresholds of the two hidden layers are determined randomly,this simplifies the improved model and shortens the calculation time.Additionally,to improve the signal to noise ratio(SNR),an adaptive waveform decomposition(AWD)algorithm is used to denoise the vibration signal.Then,the denoised signal is used to extract the eigenvalues by the time-domain and frequency-domain methods.Finally,the eigenvalues are input to the DPT-ELM classifier.In this paper,two groups of rolling bearing data at different speeds,which were collected from a real experimental platform,are used to test the method.Each set of data includes three single fault states,two complex fault states and a healthy state.The experimental results demonstrate that the DPT-ELM method achieves fast learning speed and a high accuracy.Moreover,based on 10-fold cross-validation,it proves to be an effective method to improve the accuracy with fewer hidden nodes.

文摘Vibration acceleration signals are often measured from case surface of arunning machine to monitor its condition. If the measured vibration signals display to have periodicimpulse components with a certain frequency, there may exist a corresponding local fault in themachine, and if further extracting the periodic impulse components from the vibration signals, theseverity of the local fault can be estimated and tracked. However, the signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs)of the vibration acceleration signals are often so small that the periodic impulse components aresubmersed in much background noises and other components, and it is difficult or inconvenient for usto detect and extract the periodic impulse components with the current common analyzing methods forvibration signals. Therefore, another technique, called singular value decomposition (SVD), istried to be introduced to solve the problem. First, the principle of detecting and extracting thesignal periodic components using singular value decomposition is summarized and discussed. Second,the infeasibility of the direct use of the existing SVD based detecting and extracting approach ispointed out. Third, the approach to construct the matrix for SVD from the signal series is improvedlargely, which is the key program to improve the SVD technique; Other associated improvement is alsoproposed. Finally, a simulating application example and a real-life application example ondetecting and extracting the periodic impulse components are given, which showed that the introducedand improved SVD technique is feasible.

文摘The vibration signal contains a wealth of sensitive information which reflects the running status of the equipment. It is one of the most important steps for precise diagnosis to decompose the signal and extracts the effective information properly. The traditional classical adaptive signal decomposition method, such as EMD, exists the problems of mode mixing, low decomposition accuracy etc. Aiming at those problems, EAED(extreme average envelope decomposition) method is presented based on EMD. EAED method has three advantages. Firstly, it is completed through midpoint envelopment method rather than using maximum and minimum envelopment respectively as used in EMD. Therefore, the average variability of the signal can be described accurately. Secondly, in order to reduce the envelope errors during the signal decomposition, replacing two envelopes with one envelope strategy is presented. Thirdly, the similar triangle principle is utilized to calculate the time of extreme average points accurately. Thus, the influence of sampling frequency on the calculation results can be significantly reduced. Experimental results show that EAED could separate out single frequency components from a complex signal gradually. EAED could not only isolate three kinds of typical bearing fault characteristic of vibration frequency components but also has fewer decomposition layers. EAED replaces quadratic enveloping to an envelope which ensuring to isolate the fault characteristic frequency under the condition of less decomposition layers. Therefore, the precision of signal decomposition is improved.
