The study investigated business clothing for females that are suitable for effective workplace job performance in Nigeria.It identified fabric characteristics of females’business clothing already used;fabric characte...The study investigated business clothing for females that are suitable for effective workplace job performance in Nigeria.It identified fabric characteristics of females’business clothing already used;fabric characteristics needed and deign style preference suitable for females’business clothing for workplace job performance.The study was guided by four research questions and two hypotheses.Population was 4,806 female civil servants in Delta state,Nigeria.Multi-stage sampling technique was utilized to select 136 females.Structured questionnaire was employed to collect data and descriptive statistics and t-test were used for data analysis.Finding showed that cotton,nylon,lacra fabrics,light and medium fabric weight,blue,black,gray,colors,cool texture,rough,smooth surface plain,stripe and flowered design among others were fabric characteristics of business clothing are being used in workplace.But prefer and need cotton,nylon,lacra,light weight,black,blue,gray,brown colours,cool,plain,surface fabrics.Net,organza,heavy weight,white,yellow,toweling fabrics were not preferred.Findings further showed that straight gown,waist flared and gathered gowns,skirt,blouse and suit/jacket,straight,shirt,long sleeves,garment with or without collar,below knee length,peter and convertible collars,among others were highly preferred design styles of clothes.In conclusion,office workers determine what they wear to perform workplace daily jobs promotes self-confidence,comfort,professional worth and productivity.It was recommended that female employees should not downplay appropriate work attires for comfort and organizational productivity to satisfy fashion trends.展开更多

Ankle instability was defined as functional instability based on the Karlsson score. All participants underwent performance tests (Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery test level 1, 20 m and 40 m Sprint, Bounding test, Shuttle run, Figure-of-8 hop test, and Side hopping). A positive relationship was observed between functional ankle instability and performance deficits on the Figure-of-8 hop test. However, functional ankle instability is thought to have an influence on football performance. In the performance tests, the results suggest the necessity of a new evaluation method with more difficult tests incorporating football movements, subjective “pain” and “instability” indices, and mechanical instability.展开更多
A randomized grouping experiment was conducted to study the effect of 8-week functional training on shooting performance of Beijing female handball players.According to the athletes’FMS(functional movement screening)...A randomized grouping experiment was conducted to study the effect of 8-week functional training on shooting performance of Beijing female handball players.According to the athletes’FMS(functional movement screening)scoring results,they were randomly divided into 2 groups.The experimental group adopted an 8-week functional training,aiming at strengthening their core strength,joint stability,and the power chain of shooting techniques.The control group adopted the traditional strength training mode.ANOVA(analysis of variance)was adopted to analyze the different performance of the athletes from two groups on their FMS scores,distances of throwing,and 7-meter shooting speed before and after the experiment.The results show that:(1)the total FMS scores of the experimental group athletes have been increased more significantly than those of the control group,and the injuries per capita has been significantly reduced;(2)the athletes in the experimental group have more significantly improved performance in handball throwing and 7-meter shooting speed than those in the control group.It shows that 8 weeks of functional training may effectively improve the physical function of Beijing female handball players and their performance in two special skills of handball throwing and shooting speed.展开更多
This study evaluated the effects of dietary energy levels on growth performance,carcass traits,meat quality,and serum biochemical of female Hu lambs.Seventy female Hu lambs(aged 4 months)were randomly allotted to 5 di...This study evaluated the effects of dietary energy levels on growth performance,carcass traits,meat quality,and serum biochemical of female Hu lambs.Seventy female Hu lambs(aged 4 months)were randomly allotted to 5 dietary treatments.Lambs were fed diets with 5 levels of metabolizable energy(ME):9.17(E1),9.59(E2),10.00(E3),10.41(E4),and 10.82 MJ/kg(E5).The lambs were adapted to the experimental diets for 10 d and the experiment period lasted for 60 d.Dry matter intake and feed conversion ratio linearly(P<0.001)increased and decreased(P<0.001),respectively,with increasing dietary ME levels.Average daily gain(ADG)linearly(P<0.001)increased with increasing dietary ME levels,with the highest final body weight(P=0.041)observed in E4 group.Moreover,dietary energy level was associated with linear increases in serum total protein(TP)(P<0.001),albumin(ALB)(P=0.017),glucose(GLU)(P=0.004),and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDLC)(P=0.006)concentrations,and it was associated with a quadratic decrease in serum triglyceride(TG)concentration(P=0.002).Serum ammonia concentration,which was firstly decreased and then increased,was quadratically affected by dietary ME levels(P=0.013).Compared with E1 group,lambs in E4 group had higher(P<0.05)live weights,carcass weights,mesenteric fat ratio,non-carcass fat ratio,and larger loin muscle area,but lower(P<0.05)meat colour a*and b*values,and lesser(P<0.05)C17:0,C20:0,C18:1 n-9 t,C18:3 n-3,and n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids(PUFA),but greater(P<0.05)C18:3 n-6 and n-6:n-3 ratios in longissimus dorsi(LD)muscle tissue,and lesser(P<0.05)C17:0,C18:3 n-3,C22:6 n-3,and n-3 PUFA in the biceps femoris(BF)muscle tissue.The results demonstrated that increasing dietary energy level improved the growth performance and affected carcass traits,serum biochemical indexes,and fatty acid profiles in different muscles of female Hu lambs.For 4-month-old female Hu lambs,the recommended fattening energy level is 10.41 MJ/kg.展开更多

One hundred and twenty femal...The objective of this study was to determine whether nutrient digestibility and reproductive performance of pregnant mink(Neovison vison) were affected by different dietary protein levels. One hundred and twenty female mink were randomly assigned to four groups, receiving diets of fresh material with different protein levels. The dietary protein levels,expressed as percentage of dry matter(DM),were 32,36, 40 and 44% respectively. These values corresponded to average 320, 360, 400 and 440 g protein/kg DM, respectively. Results were as follows. All of crude protein digestibility, nitrogen(N) intake, N retention increased along with dietary protein level increasing. Low protein level(32%) significantly reduced the above indicators(P < 0.05). DM digestibility and ether extract digestibility were not affected by dietary protein level. Results of mated females, barren females, kids per litter, live born kids per mated female, birth survival rate, and birth weight showed that mink achieved optimal reproductive performance when dietary protein level was 36%. In conclusion, dietary protein was anticipated to significantly influence some nutrients' utilization. Adopting the appropriate dietary protein level allow better reproduction performance. The most preferable reproductive performance was achieved when diet contained 275.5 g digestible protein per kg DM for female mink in gestation.展开更多
