The surface morphology and phase composition were examined by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The catalytic property of the film catalysts was evaluated through the removal rate of potassium chromate during the PC reduction process. The results showed that the film catalysts were composed of anatase and rutile TiO2 with a micro-porous surface structure. The calcination treatment increased the content of TiO2 in the film, changed the relative ratio of anatase and rutile TiO2, and decreased the size of the micro pores of the film catalysts. The removal rate of potassium chromate was related to the technique parameters of calcination/acid-activation treatment. When the anodic oxidation TiO2/Ti film catalyst was calcined at 873 K for 30 min and then acid-activated in the concentrated H2SO4 for 60 min, it presented the highest catalytic property, with the removal rate of potassium chromate of 96.3% during the PC reduction process under the experimental conditions.展开更多

Here, we report the slight loading of Cu in cobalt spinel using a one-step pulsed-spray evaporation chemical vapor deposition(PSE-CVD) synthesis technique for efficient short-chain volatile organic compounds(VOCs) emissions treatment. Crystalline structure and morphology analyses revealed nano-crystallite sizes and open-like morphology. The catalytic performance was evaluated through the complete oxidation of C_3H_6, as a short-chain representative model of VOCs, at a high gas hourly space velocity(GHSV). Very good activity was obtained towards the complete abatement of C_3H_6 at low temperature and no carbon monoxide(CO) was formed during the oxidation process. Slightly-promoted Co_3O_4 catalyst with Cu introduction resulted in high catalytic activity comparing to the performance of the catalysts in the literature, due to the high dispersion of Cu and high active surface oxygen amount. Moreover, to evaluate the capability of the used catalysts under near realistic reaction conditions, CO_2 effect on the catalytic activity was performed and the catalyst exhibited very good results. Thus, the adopted slightly-doping strategy to tailor a high active catalyst at low temperature could establish a very promising route to strongly enhance the activity of such other catalysts towards gas emissions abatement at low temperature.展开更多

The deposition of palladium complexes [ Pd((η3-allyl)(hfac) and Pd(hfac)2 ] gives pure palladium film, while the deposition of platinum needs the enhancement of palladium complex by mixing precursor platinum complex Pt(COD)Me2 and palladium complex in the same chamber. The co-deposition of Pd and Pt metals was used for the deposition of alloy films. During the CVD of palladium-platinum alloy, the Pd/Pt atomic ratios vary under different co-deposition conditions. These metal films were characterized by XPS and SEM, and show a good adhesive property.展开更多

Herein, we report a flexible bifunctional oxygen catalyst thin film consisting of Co–N–C bifunctional catalysts embedding in carbon nanotube(CNT) networks. The catalyst is readily prepared by pyrolysis of cobalt-based zeolitic imidazolate frameworks(ZIF-67) that are in-situ synthesized in CNT networks. Such catalyst film demonstrates very high catalytic activities for oxygen reduction(onset potential: 0.91 V, and half-wave potential: 0.87 V vs. RHE) and oxygen evolution(10 m Acm^-2 at 1.58 V) reactions, high methanol tolerance property, and long-term stability(97% current retention). Moreover, our integrated catalyst film shows very good structure flexibility and robustness. Based on the obtained film air electrodes, flexible Zn–air batteries demonstrate low charging and discharging overpotentials(0.82 V at 1 m A cm^-1) and excellent structure stability in the bending tests. These results indicate that presently reported catalyst films are potential air electrodes for flexible metal–air batteries.展开更多

The crystal phase, structure and chemical components of the films were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive spectrometer (EDS), respectively. The results show that the film prepared at CH4/WF6 concentration ratio of 20 and at 800℃ is composed of spherical particles with a diameter of 20-35 nm. Electrochemical investigations show that the electrochemical real surface area of electrode of the film is large, and the electrode of the film exhibits higher electro-catalytic activity in the reaction of methanol oxidation. The designated constant current of the film catalyst is 123.6 mA/cm^2 in the mixture solution of H2SO4 and CH3OH at the concentration of 0.5 and 2.0 mol/L at 70℃, and the designated constant potential is only 0.306 V (vs SCE).展开更多

The films obtained were shiny with silvery color. The Ni was metallic and the purity of Ni was about 92%-95% from XPS analysis. SEM micrographs show that the film had good morphology. The conductivity of the film was about 0.5-4 W·cm^(-1). Ni films had good adhesion with polyimide and polysulfone.展开更多
