Recently,more and more supercapacitors(SCs)have been developed as AC line filter capacitors,which are generally named AC line filter electrochemical capacitors(FECs).Compared to traditional bulky aluminum electrolytic capacitors(AECs),FECs have higher capacity and lower space occupancy,which makes them a strong competitor.However,different from the common SCs for energy storage,it is necessary to consider the frequency response of the SCs for AC line filtering,where the contradiction between frequency response and specific capacitance is a challenge.The researchers have proposed different solutions from the perspective of materials,morphology,and configuration for this challenge.Based on the above background,in this review,we briefly introduce the principle and parameters of AC line filter electrochemical capacitors.We systematically summarize the state-of-the-art progresses of FECs and discuss their possible application and development in the future.The development of FECs can greatly promote the planarization,integration,and miniaturization of filter capacitors,and provide a new solution for the utilization of green and unstable energy. 展开更多

Recently,micro-supercapacitors(MSCs)have undergone major development as next-generation micro-electrochemical energy storage devices for self-powered,integrated,and wearable systems,thanks to their excellent performance capability.In particular,their rapid frequency response characteristics make them potential candidates to replace conventional capacitors and function as alternating current(AC)line filters to rectify pulse energy or as current ripple filters in the kHz range.However,few papers have been published about the associated fundamental device components,architectures,and correct characterization of MSCs applied in filter applications.In addition,it is a huge challenge to achieve a balance between capacitance and frequency response,not yet to be overcome.This review comprehensively summarizes recent advances in MSCs for AC line-filtering,from fundamental mechanisms to appropriate characterization and emerging applications.Special attention is given to progress in microfabrication strategies,electrode materials,and electrolytes for high-frequency MSCs.We also present perspectives and insights into the development of MSCs in different frequency ranges for AC line-filtering applications. 展开更多

The filter capacitor stack is one of the main acoustic noise sources in high-voltage DC(HVDC) converter stations.As HVDC systems are built more and more recently,it is significant to research the audible noise of filter capacitors.In this paper,the current situation of research on vibration and audible noise of filter capacitors in HVDC converter stations,which is departed into three parts—generation mechanism,prediction methods,and reduction measures,is presented and the research achievements are discussed.Scholars have built the model that the alternating electric force caused by the voltage conduces to the vibration,which propagates to the enclosure and radiates audible noise.As a result,the parts contributing most to the generation of audible noise are the top and the bottom of capacitors. In the noise level prediction respect,several methods have been prospected including impact hammer,sweep frequency, impact current,monopole and Kirchhoff formula method,which are suitable for single capacitors or capacitors stacks individually.However,the sweep frequency method is restricted by experiment condition,and the impact current method needs further research and verified.On the other hand,CIGRE WG14.26 provides three sound reduction measures,but all of them are not so practicable,while MPP absorber and compressible space absorber prospected by Dr.Wu Peng are proved to be effective.The sound barriers are also considered by scholars,and the acoustic directivity performance of capacitors is also researched.Besides,the developing direction of each research field is prospected in corresponding part. 展开更多

A NOVEL CONTROL STRATEGY FOR SINUSIODAL WAVE INVERTER WITH PI REGULATORS AND CAPACITOR CURRENT FEEDBACK

Objective For the inverters used in UPS, it is important to maintain the pure sinusoidal AC output voltage waveform over all loading conditions and transients. Methods A novel sinusoidal output voltage control strategy is pregented in this paper. The output voltage is controlled by introducing filtering eapacitor current feedback. Two simple PI regulators are used for the current and voltage control loops. Results With the new control strategy, the inverter achieves very low output voltage distortion, good output voltage regulation and strong perturbation rejection, fast dynamic response, and good performance under nonlinear loads. The THD under capacitance rectifying load is better than 0.2%, the output voltage regulation within 0 to full load is less than 0.1%. The resting time under load transient is within 200?μ s . Conclusion The merits of the new control strategy include rapid response and good steady state stiffness. 展开更多

In order to realize accurate bilinear transformation from s- to z-domain,a novelswitched-capacitor configuration is proposed in the light of principles of dual-rate sampling and chargeconservation,which has also been used for building a 5th-order elliptic lowpass filter.The filter issimulated and measured in typical 0.34 μm/3.3 V Si CMOS process models,special full differentialoperational amplifiers and CMOS transfer gate switches,which achieves 80 MHz sampling rate,17.8MHz cutoff frequency,0.052 dB maximum passband ripple,42.1 dB minimum stopband attenuation and74 mW quiescent power dissipation.At the same time,the dual-rate sampling topology breaks thetraditional restrictions of filter introduced by unit-gain bandwidth and slew rate of operational amplifiersand also improves effectively their performances in high-frequency applications.It has been applied forthe design of an anti-alias filter in analog front-end of video decoder IC with 15 MHz signal frequencyyet. 展开更多

A high-order curvature-compensated and high power-supply rejection ratio (PSRR) BiCMOS bandgap reference is presented. The circuit utilizes positive temperature characteristics of the saturation current Iss and forward current gainfl of the bipolar transistors to realize a low temperature coefficient (TC) as well as filter capacitors and level-shift structures to improve the PSRR. Implemented in 0.6μm BCD process, the proposed voltage reference consumes a supply current of 28μA at 3.6 V. A temperature coefficient of 2.8 ppm/℃, PSRR of more than 80 dB at low frequencies and a line regulation of 50 ppm/V from 3.6 to 5.5 V are easily achieved, which make it widely applicable in portable equipment. 展开更多
