Increasing evidence of the significant clinical value of protection against ischemia/reperfusion injury has contributed to the realization of the independent importance of this approach in improving prognosis and reducing cardiovascular mortality.Extracellular vesicles(EVs)derived by adipose mesenchymal stem cells may mediate the paracrine effects of stem cells and provide regenerative and anti-inflammatory properties,which are enhanced byγ-aminobutyric acid.The protective effects on cardiac myocytes may result from the EV embarked by miR-21-5p,which is a target for thioredoxin-interacting protein,regulating the formation of thioredoxin-interacting protein-thioredoxin complexes and subsequently enhancing the antioxidant activity of thioredoxin.It has been found thatγ-aminobutyric acid governs myocardial bioenergetics through suppressing inflammation and supporting mitochondrial structure.Finally,stem cell-based cell-free therapy based on adipose-derived stem cell EVs is considered a promising approach to individualized management of ischemia-induced cardiomyopathy. 展开更多

This paper analyzes the size and distribution of zero sequence voltage and current when one-phase grounding fault occurred in the 110 kV resistance grounding system, and puts forward the grounding protection configuration setting principle of this system combining the power supplying characteristics of 110?kV distribution network. The different investigation has been carried out on the biological activities of titanium dioxide nanoparticle but the effect of this nano product on the antibacterial activity of different antibiotics has not been yet demonstrated. In this study the nano size TiO2 is synthesized using citric acid and alpha dextrose and the enhancement effect of TiO2 nanoparticle on the antibacterial activity of different antibiotics was evaluated against Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). During the present study, different concentrations of nano-scale TiO2 were tested to find out the best concentration that can have the most effective antibacterial property against the MRSA culture. Disk diffusion method was used to determine the antibacterial activity of these antibiotics in the absence and presence of sub inhibitory concentration of TiO2 nano particle. A clinical isolate of MRSA, isolated from Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was used as test strain. In the presence of sub-inhibitory concentration of TiO2 nanoparticle (20 μg/disc) the antibacterial activities of all antibiotics have been increased against test strain with minimum 2 mm to maximum 10mm. The highest increase in inhibitory zone for MRSA was observed against pencillin G and amikacin (each 10 mm). Conversely, in case of nalidixic acid, TiO2 nanoparticle showed a Synergic effect on the antibacterial activity of this antibiotic against test strain. These results signify that the TiO2 nanoparticle potentate the antimicrobial action of beta lactums, cephalosporins, aminoglycosides, glycopeptides, macrolids and lincosamides, tetracycline a possible utilization of nano compound in combination effect against MRSA. 展开更多

Effect of isobutyl-triethoxy-silane penetrative protective agent on the carbonation resistance of the concrete was studied.The concrete specimens for the 28 d accelerated carbonation process were manufactured with w/c of 0.49 and 0.64,both in the presence and absence of silane and mineral admixture.The penetration of isobutyl-triethoxy-silane and the carbonation of concrete were investigated by penetration depth,carbonation depth,XRD,SEM,and pore size distribution.The results showed that concrete compactness played an important role in the silane penetration and carbonation resistance.Penetration depth of silane-treated concrete mainly depended on the compactness of the concrete,and could not remarkably change through the accelerated carbonation process.In the accelerated carbonation process,penetrative protective agent improved the carbonation resistance of the higher compactness concretes but accelerated the carbonization process of the lower compactness concretes.As penetrative protective agent penetrated along the external connectivity pores into concrete not filling the entire surface area,the inorganic film could not fully protect the Ca(OH)_2 phase from carbonation.After 28 d accelerated carbonation,fibrous hydration products disappeared and the surface holes decreased.Due to the formation of carbonized products,the porosity of the concrete surface decreased,especially in high-strength concrete. 展开更多

Dual-function protective layer for highly reversible Zn anode

The thermodynamic instability of zinc anodes in aqueous electrolytes leads to issues such as corrosion,hydrogen evolution reactions(HER), and dendrite growth, severely hindering the practical application of zinc-based aqueous energy storage devices. To address these challenges, this work proposes a dualfunction zinc anode protective layer, composed of Zn-Al-In layered double oxides(ILDO) by rationally designing Zn-Al layered double hydroxides(Zn-Al LDHs) for the first time. Differing from previous works on the LDHs coatings, firstly, the ILDO layer accelerates zinc-ion desolvation and also captures and anchors SO_(4)^(2-). Secondly, the in-situ formation of the Zn-In alloy phase effectively lowers the nucleation energy barrier, thereby regulating zinc nucleation. Consequently, the zinc anode with the ILDO protective layer demonstrates long-term stability exceeding 1900 h and low voltage hysteresis of 7.5 m V at 0.5 m A cm^(-2) and 0.5 m A h cm^(-2). Additionally, it significantly enhances the rate capability and cycling performance of Zn@ILDO//MnO_(2) full batteries and Zn@ILDO//activated carbon zinc-ion hybrid capacitors.This simple and effective dual-function protective layer strategy offers a promising approach for achieving high-performance zinc-ion batteries. 展开更多

Methods: HepG2 cells were treated with or without DAG (1 μM). Glucose consumption, intracellular glycogen content, phosphorylation of PI3K and Akt stimulated by insulin, expression of miR-455-5p, as well as IGF-1R protein level were analyzed. In addition, bioinformatic analysis, dual luciferase reporter assay, miR- 455-5p mimic or inhibitor treatment was conducted to investigate the molecular mechanisms. Results: High glucose treatment upregulated miR-455-5p expression but reduced glucose consumption and glycogen content. DAG reversed the effect of high glucose on glucose metabolism, increased protein level of IGF-1R and phosphorylation of PI3K/Akt stimulated by insulin, as well as downregulated miR-455-5p expression. Bioinformatic analysis indicated IGF-1R was the target of miR-455-5p. Dual luciferase reporter assay, as well as transfection with miR-455-5p mimic/inhibitor confirmed that DAG activated IGF-1R/PI3K/Akt signaling via inhibiting miR-455-5p. Conclusion: DAG improves insulin resistance via miR-455-5p- mediated activation of IGF-1R/PI3K/Akt system, suggesting that suppression of miR-455-5p or activation of DAG may be potential targets for T2DM therapy. 展开更多

Background:Ischemia-reperfusion can worsen myocardial damage and increase the risk of death.Studies have revealed that ischemic preconditioning provides the best endogenous protection against myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury(MIRI),and the principle of electroacupuncture(EA)preconditioning is comparable to that of myocardial ischemic preconditioning adaption.Our earlier research demonstrated that EA pretreatment inhibits the expression of calmodulin-dependent protein kinase IIδ(CaMKIIδ),sodium/calcium exchanger 1(NCX1),and cyclophilin D,hence providing protection against MIRI.However,the exact mechanism is still unknown.The expression of NCX1 mRNA is directly regulated by microRNA-214(miR-214).Moreover,it suppresses the levels of CaMKIIδand cyclophilin D.Whether these variables contribute to EA preconditioning to improve MIRI needs to be investigated,though.This study aimed to preliminarily determine whether EA pretreatment ameliorates MIRI by modulating the miR-214-3p/NCX1 axis.Methods:We used a rat MIRI model to investigate the effect of EA pretreatment on MIRI and the expression of miR-214-3p.In addition,adenovirus injection inhibited miR-214-3p expression in the rat MIRI model,and the influence of EA pretreatment towards MIRI was observed in the context of blocked miR-214-3p expression.Both the myocardial histological abnormalities and the alterations in the ST segment of the rat electrocardiogram were analyzed.NCX1 mRNA,cyclophilin D,and CaMKIIδexpression levels were also analyzed.Results:EA pretreatment improved MIRI.In rats with MIRI,EA administration increased miR-214-3p expression while decreasing NCX1 mRNA,cyclophilin D,and CaMKIIδproteins in cardiac tissues.The beneficial effect of EA pretreatment against MIRI was reversed,coupled with elevated levels of NCX1 mRNA,cyclophilin D,and CaMKIIδprotein expression,when an adenovirus injection disrupted the expression of miR-214-3p.Conclusions:Our findings preliminarily show that EA pretreatment inhibits the expression of NCX1 mRNA,cyclophilin D,and CaMKIIδproteins via miR-214-3p,hence exerting MIRI protection. 展开更多

An organic-inorganic hybrid sealing agent was fabricated and used in the plasma sprayed Al_(2)O_(3)-13 wt%TiO_(2)coating,and conventional silicone agent was also used for comparison.Protection performance of the coatings was comprehensively evaluated based on both anti-corrosion and anti-biofouling properties.The results reveal that the sealing treatment is remarkably useful to decrease the porosity of the coating,and the porosity of the coating sealed with the hybrid agent is only 0.035%.Immersion corrosion test and Tafel polarization test reveal that the sealed coating with the hybrid agent exhibits a better corrosion resistance by compared with the coating sealed with silicone agent.The corrosion current density i_(corr) of the hybrid agent sealed coating is only 0.7×10^(-6)A·cm^(-2).Moreover,anti-biofouling tests both in the outdoor analogue hydraulic environment and in the natural marine environment prove that the mentioned novel coating presents a better combination of corrosion resistance and anti-biofouling property by compared with the other coatings,and it could be used as a protection of metal components in the marine environment. 展开更多

Hybrid nanoSiO_(2) (HNS) modified cement pastes were explored as a kind of surface protection material (SPM).The carbonation resistance and mechanical properties of SPMs coated samples were tested.Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA),X-ray diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscope (SEM),and mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP) were further employed to evaluate the chemical composition and microstructure characteristics of SPM.Besides,thermodynamic modeling was adopted to simulate the changes in the phase assemblages of SPM under the carbonation process.The results showed that SPM with 1 wt% HNS could effectively enhance the carbonation resistance.The incorporation of HNS could densify the microstructure and refine the pore structure.Moreover,the thaumasite can be stable at ambient temperature with the addition of HNS,which is beneficial to maintain alkalinity under the carbonation process. 展开更多

The obtained the temperature,buckling,stress and deflection responses were compared,and the deflection and stress distributions as well as thermal buckling mode at the time were discussed for the considered configurations when the temperature difference between the top and bottom face sheet was maximum. The results demonstrated that the non-orthogonal and hat-stiffened double-layer structures provide superior performance to resist thermal buckling deformation in comparison with other configurations. The useful information is provided for the forthcoming optimization in which thermal buckling is considered as critical design driver. 展开更多

In this paper,the properties of different low-density heat-resistant coating prescriptions were compared,and a heat-resistant coating with a density of 0.65 g/cm^(3),a tensile strength of 2.04 MPa,and a thermal conductivity of 0.126 W/(m·K)was obtained.The thermal performance of the coating was characterized by an oxygen-acetylene ablation test,a hot radiation test using a quartz lamp and in an arc-heated wind tunnel test.The results indicated that the low-density heat-resistant coating prescription has advantages of high temperature resistance,erosion resistance,ablative resistance and excellent heat resistance,which can satisfy the heat resistance requirements of new-generation launch vehicle fairings.The successful application of this heat-resistant coating technology resolved the problems of low efficiency and poor adhesive performance of the traditional hand-pasted cork process,and realized the rapid spray application of the thermal protection layer,effectively improved the manufacturing efficiency and production quality of the heat-resistant layer of new-generation launch vehicle fairings. 展开更多

Twenty-two nitrate nonutilizing (nit) mutants were recovered from five wild-type isolates of Fusarium graminearum and fifty nit mutants were recovered from three JS399-19-resistant mutants of F. graminearum cultured... Twenty-two nitrate nonutilizing (nit) mutants were recovered from five wild-type isolates of Fusarium graminearum and fifty nit mutants were recovered from three JS399-19-resistant mutants of F. graminearum cultured on MMC medium. Some biological properties were compared between nit mutants and their parental isolates. The results showed that there were no significant differences in growth rate, cultural characters or pathogenicity between JS399-19-resistant nit mutants and their parental isolates. But the conidial production and the sexual reproduction ability changed to some extent. There was no cross resistance toward chlorate and JS399-19 in F. graminearum and the resistance could be stable through 20-time subcultures. Therefore, the nit could be used as a genetic marker for studying the genetics of JS399-19 resistance in E graminearum, which was used to study JS399-19 resistance transferability in hyphal fusion. Resistance in JS399-19 could not be transferred by hyphal fusion or could be transferred with low chance between two compatible isolates, which would delay the development of JS399-19 resistance in the field. 展开更多

Corrosion protection properties of vanadium-treated (V-treated), chromium-treated (Cr-treated), and untreated zinc surfaces in contact with a 3.5 wt.% NaC1 solution were studied using potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and neutral salt spray (NSS) tests. According to these results, the V-treated layer significantly improved the corrosion resistance of zinc surfaces. In comparison with the Cr-treated layer, the V-treated layer exhibited a better corrosion resistance. The composition of the V-treated layer was studied using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). XPS measurements indicated that the vanadium layer formed on zinc surfaces and the vanadium-rich coating was a hydrated oxide with a composition of V2O5, VO2, and its hydrates such as V2O5.nH2O and VO(OH)2. 展开更多
