The 3D irregular tank is ... A three-dimensional (3D) predictor-corrector finite difference method for standing wave is developed. It is applied to solve the 3D nonlinear potential flow equa- tions with a free surface. The 3D irregular tank is mapped onto a fixed cubic tank through the proper coordinate transform schemes. The cubic tank is distributed by the staggered meshgrid, and the staggered meshgrid is used to denote the variables of the flow field. The predictor-corrector finite difference method is given to develop the difference equa- tions of the dynamic boundary equation and kinematic boundary equation. Experimental results show that, using the finite difference method of the predictor-corrector scheme, the numerical solutions agree well with the published results. The wave profiles of the standing wave with different amplitudes and wave lengths are studied. The numerical solutions are also analyzed and presented graphically. 展开更多

By rates of solutions to the three-dimensional combining the LP-Lq estimate for the linearized equations and an elaborate energy method, the convergence rates are obtained in various norms for the solution to the equilibrium state in the whole space when the initial perturbation of the equilibrium state is small in the H3-framework. More precisely, the optimal convergence rates of the solutions and their first-order derivatives in the L2-norm are obtained when the LP-norm of the perturbation is bounded for some p ε [1, 6). 展开更多

The Gerdjikov-Ivanov(GI)hierarchy is derived via recursion operator,in this article,we mainly investigate the third-order flow GI equation.In the framework of the Riemann-Hilbert method,the soliton matrices of the third-order flow GI equation with simple zeros and elementary high-order zeros of Riemann-Hilbert problem are constructed through the standard dressing process.Taking advantage of this result,some properties and asymptotic analysis of single soliton solution and two soliton solution are discussed,and the simple elastic interaction of two soliton are proved.Compared with soliton solution of the classical second-order flow,we find that the higher-order dispersion term affects the propagation velocity,propagation direction and amplitude of the soliton.Finally,by means of a certain limit technique,the high-order soliton solution matrix for the third-order flow GI equation is derived. 展开更多

We develop a numerical solution algorithm of the nonlinear potential flow equations with the nonlinear free surface boundary condition.A finite difference method with a predictor-corrector method is applied to solve the nonlinear potential flow equations in a two-dimensional (2D) tank.The irregular tank is mapped onto a fixed square domain with rectangular cells through a proper mapping function.A staggered mesh system is adopted in a 2D tank to capture the wave elevation of the transient fluid.The finite difference method with a predictor-corrector scheme is applied to discretize the nonlinear dynamic boundary condition and nonlinear kinematic boundary condition.We present the numerical results of wave elevations from small to large amplitude waves with free oscillation motion,and the numerical solutions of wave elevation with horizontal excited motion.The beating period and the nonlinear phenomenon are very clear.The numerical solutions agree well with the analytical solutions and previously published results. 展开更多

A series of simple axisymmetric compression tests were carried out on the computer servo controlled Gleeble 1 500 machine when strain rates ranged between 0.05 25 s -1 and deformation temperature 300 500 ℃. The results show that flow stress is related to the Zener Hollonom parameter Z and strain, as well as the static recrystallization fraction between passes during multipass hot deformation of 5182 aluminum alloy. Hence, a modified exponential flow stress equation was presented by considering the values of ln A and β as functions of strain, and by using the uniform softening method and incorporating the static recrystallization fraction between passes to consider the effects of residual strain during multipass hot rolling of 5182 aluminum alloy. The validity of the equation was examined by a typical non isothermal multipass deformation test. 展开更多

Lastly, a corollary of our theorem is given particularly on inner boundary. This paper gives an overview on nonlinear porous flow in low permeability porous media, reveals the microscopic mechanisms of flows, and clarifies properties of porous flow fluids. It shows that, deviating from Darcy's linear law, the porous flow characteristics obey a nonlinear law in a low-permeability porous medium, and the viscosity of the porous flow fluid and the permeability values of water and oil are not constants. Based on these characters, a new porous flow model, which can better describe low permeability reservoir~ is established. This model can describe various patterns of porous flow, as Darcy's linear law does. All the parameters involved in the model, having definite physical meanings, can be obtained directly from the experiments. 展开更多

A gas-kinetic numerical method for directly solving the mesoscopic velocity distribution function equation is presented and applied to the study of three-dimensional complex flows and micro-channel flows covering various flow regimes. The unified velocity distribution function equation describing gas transport phenomena from rarefied transition to continuum flow regimes can be presented on the basis of the kinetic Boltzmann-Shakhov model equation. The gas-kinetic finite-difference schemes for the velocity distribution function are constructed by developing a discrete velocity ordinate method of gas kinetic theory and an unsteady time-splitting technique from computational fluid dynamics. Gas-kinetic boundary conditions and numerical modeling can be established by directly manipulating on the mesoscopic velocity distribution function. A new Gauss-type discrete velocity numerical integra- tion method can be developed and adopted to attack complex flows with different Mach numbers. HPF paral- lel strategy suitable for the gas-kinetic numerical method is investigated and adopted to solve three-dimensional complex problems. High Mach number flows around three-dimensional bodies are computed preliminarilywith massive scale parallel. It is noteworthy and of practical importance that the HPF parallel algorithm for solving three-dimensional complex problems can be effectively developed to cover various flow regimes. On the other hand, the gas-kinetic numerical method is extended and used to study micro-channel gas flows including the classical Couette flow, the Poiseuillechannel flow and pressure-driven gas flows in twodimensional short micro-channels. The numerical experience shows that the gas-kinetic algorithm may be a powerful tool in the numerical simulation of microscale gas flows occuring in the Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS). 展开更多

The deformaton behavior of Ti - 6Al - 4V alloy under hot - working condition has been studied by compression testing in the temperature range 750 - 950℃ and strain rate range 0.05 - 15s -1. The flow stress decreases with the increase of temperature and with the decrease of strain rate. After a steep initial strain hardening, a flow softening occurs. This softening is mainly ascribed to the temperature rise and dynamic recmptallisation.By a simple extension, a classical sinushyperbolic constitutive equation can be used to describe the flow behavior of Ti - 6Al - 4V alloy. flow stress is described as a function of strain, strain rate and temperature. Permeability is an important index in reservoir evaluation,oil and gas accumulation control,and production effi ciency.At present,permeability can be obtained through several methods.However,these methods are not suitable for tight sandstone in general because the pore type in tight sandstone is mainly secondary pores and has the characteristics of low porosity and permeability,high capillary pressure,and high irreducible water saturation.Mud invasion depth is closely related to permeability during drilling.In general,the greater the permeability,the shallower the mud invasion depth,and the smaller the permeability,the deeper the mud invasion depth.Therefore,this paper builds a model to predict the permeability of tight sandstone using mud invasion depth.The model is based on the improvement of the Darcy flow equation to obtain permeability using mud invasion depth inversion of array induction logging.The influence of various permeability factors on the model is analyzed by numerical simulation.The model is used to predict the permeability of tight sandstone in the south of the Ordos Basin.The predicted permeability is highly consistent with the core analysis permeability,which verifi es the reliability of the method. 展开更多

In this work,a flowing material balance equation(FMBE) is established for under saturated coalbed methane(CBM) reservoirs,which considers immobile free gas expansion effect at the dewatering stage.Based on the established FMBE,five straight-line methods are proposed to determine the control area,initial water reserve,initial free gas reserve,initial adsorbed gas reserve,original gas in place,as well as permeability at the same time.Subsequently,the proposed FMBE methods for undersaturated CBM reservoirs are validated against a reservoir simulation software with and without considering free gas expansion.Finally,the proposed methods are applied in a field case when considering free gas expansion effect.Validation cases show that the straight-line relationships for the proposed five FMBE methods are excellent,and good agreements are obtained among the actual reserves and permeabilities and those evaluated by the proposed five FMBE methods,indicating the proposed five FMBE methods are effective and rational for CBM reservoirs.Results show that a small amount of free gas will result in a great deviation in reserve evaluation;hence,the immobile free gas expansion effect should be considered when establishing the material balance equation of undersaturated CBM reservoirs at the dewatering stage. 展开更多

The mechanical energy equation is a fundamental equation of a 1-D mathematical model in Hydraulics and Engineering Fluid Mechanics. This equation for the total flow used to be deduced by extending the Bernoulli's equation for the ideal fluid in the streamline to a stream tube, and then revised by considering the viscous effect and integrated on the cross section. This derivation is not rigorous and the effect of turbulence is not considered. In this paper, the energy equation for the total flow is derived by using the Navier-Stokes equations in Fluid Mechanics, the results are as follows:(1) A new energy equation for steady channel flows of incompressible homogeneous liquid is obtained, which includes the variation of the turbulent kinetic energy along the channel, the formula for the mechanical energy loss of the total flow can be determined directly in the deduction process.(2) The theoretical solution of the velocity field for laminar flows in a rectangular open channel is obtained and the mechanical energy loss in the energy equation is calculated. The variations of the coefficient of the mechanical energy loss against the Reynolds number and the width-depth ratio are obtained.(3) The turbulent flow in a rectangular open channel is simulated using 3-D Reynolds averaged equations closed by the Reynolds stress model(RSM), and the variations of the coefficient of the mechanical energy loss against the Reynolds number and the width-depth ratio are discussed. 展开更多
