In recent times, this evaluation technique has been adopted in carbon dioxide sequestration projects for estimating and monitoring carbon dioxide (CO2) accumulation in saline aquifers. Several papers have reported laboratory success in the use of resistivity measurements to monitor the flow and also estimate the volume of CO2 plume in geological formations. Such laboratory experiments did not capture the effect of CO2 -brine-rock interaction (CBRI) on saturation estimation. The possibility of a change in value resistivity due to CO2/brine/rock interactions, and the possible effect on CO2 monitoring and estimation are of immediate interest here. Preliminary results of an ongoing research work showed that a much longer experiment time accommodates CO2-brine-rock interaction which ultimately lead to change in rock resistivity. We hereby present the electrical behavior of carbonates to CO2/ brine/rock interaction during prolonged CO2 sequestration and the effect on saturation estimation. This electrical behavior and its possible effect on CO2 monitoring and estimation are discussed.展开更多

It was found that atmospheric noble gas component is missing. Therefore, all previously proposed models of participation in the fluid surface ice meltwater are not valid. Proposed and justified endogenous mechanism of isotope fractionation of oxygen and other chemical elements by the mechanism of thermal diffusion. Geologically justified existence of the cascading effect for a number of the separation thermodiffusion cells, which lead to significant isotope effects. Cascading is realized due to the “fluid pump”, in which role are acting amphibolized gabbro in the contact with corundum metasomatites. It is assumed that the mechanism is not specific for the case corundum metasomatic rocks, which are a special case of manifestation of such a scenario in processes involving endogenous fluid flows.展开更多

Zircon in the granitic rocks has median values of 350 ppm U, 140 ppm Th, and Th/U=0.52; the recommended zircon-melt partition coefficients are 81 for Du and 8.2 for DTh. In zircon from mafic and intermediate rocks, the median values are 270 ppm U, 170 ppm Th, and Th/U=0.81, and the recommended zirconmelt partition coefficients are 169 for Du and 59 for DTh. The U and Th contents and Th/U ratios of magmatic zircon are low when zircon crystallizes in equilibrium with the melt. Increasing magma temperature should promote higher Th contents relative to U contents, resulting in higher Th/U ratios for zircon in mafic to intermediate rocks than in granitic rocks. However, when zircon crystallizes in disequilibrium with the melt, U and Th are more easily able to enter the zircon lattice, and their contents and Th/U ratios depend mainly on the degree of disequilibrium. The behavior of U and Th in magmatic zircon can be used as a geochemical indicator to determine the origins and crystallization environments of magmatic zircon.展开更多

The characteristic J values of the GMR for E, G, K and l of each material are systematically different and display consistent correlations with the Poisson’s ratio of the nonporous material(v0). For the materials dominated by corner-shaped pores, the fixed point at which the effective Poisson’s ratio(n) remains constant is at v0=0.2, and J(G) > J(E) > J(K) > J(l) and J(G) < J(E) < J(K) < J(l) for materials with v0> 0.2 and v0< 0.2, respectively.J(Vs) > J(Vp) and J(Vs) < J(Vp) for the materials with v0> 0.2 and v0< 0.2, respectively. The effective n increases, decreases and remains unchanged with increasing porosity for the materials with v0< 0.2,v0> 0.2 and v0=0.2, respectively. For natural rocks containing thin-disk-shaped pores parallel to mineral cleavages, grain boundaries and foliation, however, the n fixed point decreases nonlinearly with decreasing pore aspect ratio(a: width/length). With increasing depth or pressure, cracks with smaller a values are progressively closed, making the n fixed point rise and finally reach to the point at v0=0.2.展开更多

These deep fluids not only lead to large-scale accumulations of CO2, CH4, H2, He and other gases, but also significantly impact hydrocarbon generation and accumulation through organic-inorganic interactions. With the development of deep faults and magmatic-volcanic activities in different periods, most Chinese petroliferous basins have experienced strong impacts associated with deep fluid activity. In the Songliao, Bohai Bay, Northern Jiangsu, Sanshui, Yinggehai and Pearl Mouth Basins in China, a series of CO2 reservoirs have been discovered. The CO2 content is up to 99%, with δ-(13)C(CO2) values ranging from-4.1‰ to-0.37‰ and -3He/-4He ratios of up to 5.5 Ra. The abiogenic hydrocarbon gas reservoirs with commercial reserves, such as the Changde, Wanjinta, Zhaozhou, and Chaoyanggou reservoirs, are mainly distributed in the Xujiaweizi faulted depression of the Songliao Basin. The δ-(13)CCH4 values of the abiogenic alkane gases are generally -30‰ and exhibit an inverse carbon isotope sequence of δ-(13)C(CH4)δ-(13)C(C2H6)δ-(13)C(C3H8)δ-(13)C(C4H10). According to laboratory experiments, introducing external H2 can improve the rate of hydrocarbon generation by up to 147% through the kerogen hydrogenation process. During the migration from deep to shallow depth, CO2 can significantly alter reservoir rocks. In clastic reservoirs, feldspar is easily altered by CO2-rich fluids, leading to the formation of dawsonite, a typical mineral in high CO2 partial pressure environments, as well as the creation of secondary porosity. In carbonate reservoirs, CO2-rich fluids predominately cause dissolution or precipitation of carbonate minerals. The minerals, e.g., calcite and dolomite, show some typical features, such as higher homogenization temperatures than the burial temperature, relatively high concentrations of Fe and Mn, positive Eu anomalies, depletion of 18 O and enrichment of radiogenic -(87)Sr. Due to CO2-rich fluids, the development of high-quality carbonate reservoirs is extended to deep strata. For example, the Well TS1 in the northern Tarim Basin revealed a high-quality Cambrian dolomite reservoir with a porosity of 9.1% at 8408 m, and the Well ZS1 C in the central Tarim Basin revealed a large petroleum reserve in a Cambrian dolomite reservoir at -6900 m. During the upward migration from deep to shallow basin strata, large volumes of supercritical CO2 may extract petroleum components from hydrocarbon source rocks or deep reservoirs and facilitate their migration to shallow reservoirs, where the petroleum accumulates with the CO2. Many reservoirs containing both supercritical CO2 and petroleum have been discovered in the Songliao, Bohaiwan, Northern Jiangsu, Pearl River Mouth and Yinggehai Basins. The components of the petroleum trapped with CO2 are dominated by low molecular weight saturated hydrocarbons.展开更多

This affinity between gas pool and content of inclusion in the same volcanic reservoirs demonstrates that magma-originated gases, both CH4 and CO2, have contributed significantly to the corresponding gas pools and that the assumed hydrocarbon budget of the bulk earth might be much larger than conventionally supposed.展开更多

Both Xincheng - Xishui and Hetai shear zones are typical continental crust shear zones of greenschist facies environment. The representative mylonite zones of the shear zones are studied with whole rock major and trace element analyses. The chemical compositional variation tendencies in both shear zones are very similar and the gain - loss ratios of various components in the mylonitic rocks are reflected in the mass balance equations. The enrichment of those immobile high - field- strengh elements is considered to be related to the volume loss of the mylonitic rocks in a shear zone. Based on the volume loss expression Cs /Co = 1/(1- V), the fractional volume losses (V) are 37.5% and 36.5%-42.3% respectively for mylonites and ultramylonites in the Xincheng-Xishui shear zone and 11 % and 28% respectively for mylonites and phyllonites in the Hetai shear zone. The high volume loss and large removal of SiO2 from the system imply that there is a large amount of percolating fluids in the shear zones. From the SiO2 loss, the fluid/rock ratios (N) are calculated as Nmyl = 113 - 563, Nultramyl= 133-664 for the Xincheng-Xishui shear zone and Nmyl=42-208, Nphyl=110-550 for the Hetai shear zone. Such a large amount of percolating fluid must have profoundly affected the rheological behavior, chemical behavior and metallogenesis of the shear zones.展开更多

Oil yield, major element, trace element, rare earth element, and total sulfur (TS) data from the oil shale within the Yanchang are here presented and discussed in the context of hydrothermal influence. Oil shale samples returned relatively high total organic carbon (TOC), in the range of 4.69%-25.48%. A high correlation between TS and TOC suggests TS in the oil shale is dominated by organic sulfur and affected by organic matter. The low Al/ Si ratio of oil shale samples implies quartz is a major mineralogical component. Si/(Si + Al + Fe) values suggest close proximity of the oil shale to a terrigenous source. δEu; Fe versus Mn versus (Cu + Co + Ni)× 10; and SiO2/(K2O + Na2O) versus MnO/TiO2, Fe/Ti, and (Fe + Mn)/Ti are evidence of hydrothermal fluid activity during oil shale sedimentation, and δU and U/Th of the oil shale indicate reducing conditions. The Sr/Ba of oil shale samples suggests fresh-water deposition. The high correlations of Fe/Ti and (Fe + Mn)/Ti with δU, U/Th, and TS demonstrate that hydrothermal fluid activity promotes reducing conditions. Sr/Ba ratios had low correlation with Fe/Ti and (Fe + Mn)/Ti, implying that hydrothermal fluid activity had little impact (Fe + Mn)/Ti, δU, U/Th, and on paleosalinity. Fe/Ti, Cu + Pb + Zn all exhibited high positive correlation coefficients with TOC in oil shale samples, suggesting that more intense hydrothermal fluid activity improves conditions in favor of formation and preservation of organic matter.展开更多

High-pressure veins are extensively developed in this HP belt. Compared with normal mid-ocean ridge basalt(N-MORB), the high-pressure veins and host rocks are enriched in light rare earth elements(LREE) and incompatible elements. But high-pressure veins show a larger variation than host rocks in total REE abundance. On the trace element spidergram, all the samples are enriched in incompatible elements and show strong positive Pb anomaly relative to N-MORB. The array tendency lines of plots of the HP rocks have apparent slopes on diagram of m(Sr) vs m(Sr)/m(Zr), m(Li) vs m(Li)/m(Y) and (m(Ce)) vs m(Ce)/m(Pb), which indicates that the enrichment in LREE and incompatible elements relative to N-MORB of the HP-metamorphic rocks from western Tianshan is not attributed to magma evolution process of the protolith. High field strength elements, such as Nb, Ta, Ti, Zr and Hf, do not show negative anomaly relative to N-MORB, which is dissimilar to that of island arc basalts. Therefore, the enrichment in LREE and incompatible elements of the HP rocks is not attributed to the enrichment of the source of the protolith. The mass ratios of Rb to Ba, Ce to Pb, Nb to U and Ta to U of high-pressure veins and host rocks are intermediate of mid-ocean ridge basalt or oceanic island basalt and continental crust. The fluids in western Tianshan paleosubduction zones are mixtures of two sources, dehydration or devolatilization of host rocks and of subducted sediments.展开更多

The fractionation of RE resulted from hydrothermal alterations, i. e., fluid-rock interactions, are distinctive. One set of field data implies the preferential mobility of the LRE, while another set of field observations demonstrates the dominant mobilization of the HRE, and some theoretical prediction is not consistent with the field evidence. The Eu anomalies caused by fluid-rock interaction are complex and compelling explanation is not available due to inadequate experimental approaches. To know the exact behavior of RE during fluid-rock interaction and to solve the contradiction between some theoretical predictions and field observations, the following works remain to be done: (1) experimental investigations of RE mobility and fractionation as a function of fluid chemistry, e.g., the activity of F -, Cl -, CO 3 2-, HCO 3 -, CO 2, HPO 4 2-, HS -, S 2-, SO 4 2-, etc.; (2) experimental determination of RE mobility and fractionation as a function of T, P, pH, E h and water/rock ratios; (3) investigation of the mechanism and the controlling factors of RE partitioning between hydrothermal minerals and fluids. It was demonstrated that RE mobility is a potentially useful method for exploration.展开更多

文摘Knowledge about the seismic elastic modulus dispersion, and associated attenuation,in fluid-saturated rocks is essential for better interpretation of seismic observations taken as part of hydrocarbon identification and time-lapse seismic surveillance of both conventional and unconventional reservoir and overburden performances.A Seismic Elastic Moduli Module has been developed, based on the forced-oscillations method,to experimentally investigate the frequency dependence of Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio,as well as the inferred attenuation,of cylindrical samples under different confining pressure conditions.Calibration with three standard samples showed that the measured elastic moduli were consistent with the published data, indicating that the new apparatus can operate reliably over a wide frequency range of f∈[1-2000,10^(6)]Hz.The Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio of the shale and the tight sandstone samples were measured under axial stress oscillations to assess the frequency-and pressure-dependent effects.Under dry condition, both samples appear to be nearly frequency independent, with weak pressure dependence for the shale and significant pressure dependence for the sandstone. In particular,it was found that the tight sandstone with complex pore microstructure exhibited apparent dispersion and attenuation under brine or glycerin saturation conditions, the levels of which were strongly influenced by the increased effective pressure. In addition, the measured Young's moduli results were compared with the theoretical predictions from a scaled poroelastic model with a reasonably good agreement, revealing that the combined fluid flow mechanisms at both mesoscopic and microscopic scales possibly responsible for the measured dispersion.

文摘The macroscopic mechanical properties of rocks are significantly influenced by their microstructure. As a material bonded by mineral grains, the grain morphology of crystalline rock is the primary factor influencing the strength. However, most strength criteria neglect the strength variations caused by different grain characteristics in rocks.Furthermore, the traditional linear criteria tend to overestimate tensile strength and exhibit apex singularity. To address these shortcomings,a piecewise strength criterion that considers the grain size effect has been proposed.A part of an ellipse was employed to construct the envelope of the tensive-shear region on the meridian plane,to accurately reproduce the low tensile-compressive strength ratio.Based on the analysis of experimental data, both linear and exponential modification functions that account for grain size effects were integrated into the proposed criterion. The corresponding finite element algorithm has been implemented. The accuracy and applicability of the proposed criterion were validated by comparing with the experimental data.

文摘The relationship between fluid density and saturation and sonic wave velocity of rock samples taken from the WXS Depression in the South China Sea was studied by an oil-water replacement experiment under simulated in-situ temperature and pressure conditions. Two kinds of low-density oils(0.691 and 0.749 g/cm^3) and two kinds of high-density oils(0.834 and 0.873 g/cm^3) were used to saturate the rock samples at different oil-saturation states, and the saturated P- and S-wave velocities were measured.Through Gassmann's equation, the theoretical P- and S-wave velocities were also calculated by the fluid replacement method. With the comparison of the measured values and the theoretical values, this study comes to the following conclusions.(1) With the increase of oil saturation and the decrease of water saturation, the P-wave velocity of rock samples saturated by low-density oil increases and the changing rule is in accord with the effective fluid theory;the P-wave velocity of rock samples saturated by high-density oil decreases and the changing rule goes against the theory.(2) With the increase of oil density(namely 0.691→0.749→0.834→0.873 g/cm^3) when oil saturation is unchanged,P-wave velocity increases gradually.(3) The S-wave velocity is always stable and is not affected by the change of oil density and saturation. The results can be used to constrain pre-stack seismic inversion, and the variation rule of sonic wave velocity is valuable for hydrocarbon identification in the study area.

文摘Understanding the mechanical properties of the lithologies is crucial to accurately determine the horizontal stress magnitude. To investigate the correlation between the rock mass properties and maximum horizontal stress, the three-dimensional(3D)stress tensors at 89 measuring points determined using an improved overcoring technique in nine mines in China were adopted,a newly defined characteristic parameter C_(ERP)was proposed as an indicator for evaluating the structural properties of rock masses, and a fuzzy relation matrix was established using the information distribution method. The results indicate that both the vertical stress and horizontal stress exhibit a good linear growth relationship with depth. There is no remarkable correlation between the elastic modulus,Poisson's ratio and depth, and the distribution of data points is scattered and messy. Moreover, there is no obvious relationship between the rock quality designation(RQD)and depth. The maximum horizontal stress σ_(H) is a function of rock properties, showing a certain linear relationship with the C_(ERP)at the same depth. In addition, the overall change trend of σ_(H) determined by the established fuzzy identification method is to increase with the increase of C_(ERP).The fuzzy identification method also demonstrates a relatively detailed local relationship betweenσ_H and C_(ERP),and the predicted curve rises in a fluctuating way, which is in accord well with the measured stress data.
文摘Accurate laboratory measurements and analysis of electrical properties of core samples are a prerequisite step to the evaluation of oil and gas reserves. This electrical behavior and its possible effect on CO2 monitoring and estimation are discussed.
文摘Helium and argon isotopes in fluid inclusions in minerals of corundum bearing rocks with anomalous light oxygen of the Khitoostrov (North Karelia, Russia) were studied. It is assumed that the mechanism is not specific for the case corundum metasomatic rocks, which are a special case of manifestation of such a scenario in processes involving endogenous fluid flows.

文摘As an important indicator parameter of fluid identification, fluid factor has always been a concern for scholars. However, when predicting Russell fluid factor or effective pore-fluid bulk modulus,it is necessary to introduce a new rock skeleton parameter which is the dry-rock VP/VS ratio squared(DVRS).In the process of fluid factor calculation or inversion, the existing methods take this parameter as a static constant, which has been estimated in advance, and then apply it to the fluid factor calculation and inversion. The fluid identification analysis based on a portion of the Marmousi 2 model and numerical forward modeling test show that, taking the DVRS as a static constant will limit the identification ability of fluid factor and reduce the inversion accuracy. To solve the above problems,we proposed a new method to regard the DVRS as a dynamic variable varying with depth and lithology for the first time, then apply it to fluid factor calculation and inversion.Firstly, the exact Zoeppritz equations are rewritten into a new form containing the fluid factor and DVRS of upper and lower layers.Next, the new equations are applied to the four parameters simultaneous inversion based on the generalized nonlinear inversion(GNI)method. The testing results on a portion of the Marmousi 2 model and field data show that dynamic DVRS can significantly improve the fluid factor identification ability, effectively suppress illusion. Both synthetic and filed data tests also demonstrate that the GNI method based on Bayesian deterministic inversion(BDI)theory can successfully solve the above four parameter simultaneous inversion problem, and taking the dynamic DVRS as a target inversion parameter can effectively improve the inversion accuracy of fluid factor. All these results completely verified the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.

文摘High-precision data on U and Th contents and Th/U ratios of zircon obtained using secondary ion mass spectrometry analysis have been collected from the literature. The behavior of U and Th in magmatic zircon can be used as a geochemical indicator to determine the origins and crystallization environments of magmatic zircon.
文摘The generalized mixture rule(GMR) is used to provide a unified framework for describing Young’s(E),shear(G) and bulk(K) moduli, Lame parameter(l), and P- and S-wave velocities(Vpand Vs) as a function of porosity in various isotropic materials such as metals, ceramics and rocks. With increasing depth or pressure, cracks with smaller a values are progressively closed, making the n fixed point rise and finally reach to the point at v0=0.2.

文摘Deep fluids in a petroliferous basin generally come from the deep crust or mantle beneath the basin basement, and they transport deep substances(gases and aqueous solutions) as well as heat to sedimentary strata through deep faults. The components of the petroleum trapped with CO2 are dominated by low molecular weight saturated hydrocarbons.
文摘Comparing compositions of the fluid inclusions in volcanic rocks to the contents and isotopes of the gases in corresponding volcanic reservoirs using microthermometry, Raman microspectroscopy and mass spectrum analysis, we found that: (1) up to 82 mole% methane exists in the primary inclusions hosted in the reservoir volcanic rocks; (2) high CH4 inclusions recognized in the volcanic rocks correspond to CH4-bcaring CO2 reservoirs that are rich in helium and with a high ^3He/^4He ratio and which show reversed order of 813C in alkane; (3) in gas reservoirs of such abiotic methane (〉80%) and a mix of CH4 and CO2, the enclosed content of CH4 in the volcanic inclusions is usually below 42 mole%, and the reversed order of δ^13C in alkane is sometimes irregular in the corresponding gas pools; (4) a glassy inclusion with a homogeneous temperature over 900℃ also contains a small portion of CH4 although predominantly CO2. This affinity between gas pool and content of inclusion in the same volcanic reservoirs demonstrates that magma-originated gases, both CH4 and CO2, have contributed significantly to the corresponding gas pools and that the assumed hydrocarbon budget of the bulk earth might be much larger than conventionally supposed.

文摘There is a coupling of thermal, mechanical, chemical and fluidal processes in a continental shear zone. Such a large amount of percolating fluid must have profoundly affected the rheological behavior, chemical behavior and metallogenesis of the shear zones.

文摘The effect of structural discontinuities on the progressive failure process of anisotropic rocks should be paid particular attention. The crack damage stress σ_(cd),also considered as the yield strength, and the relationship between σ_(cd) and the uniaxial peak strength σ_(ucs) of anisotropic rocks for different orientations 8 of the isotropy planes with respect to the loading directions were investigated theoretically and experimentally.A theoretical relation of σ_(cd)/σ_(ucs) with the function of the shape parameter m was established.Additionally, uniaxial compression tests of shale samples were conducted for several inclinations θ.The test result of σ_(cd)/σ_(ucs) was close to the theoretical value for a given orientation.Furthermore, both experimental results and theoretical solutions of σ_(cd)/σ_(ucs) were independent of the inclination θ while σ_(cd) andσ_(ucs) were strongly affected by θ.The strength ratio σ_(cd)/σ_(ucs) may therefore be an intrinsic property of anisotropic rocks and could be used to predict the failure of rock samples.

文摘Recently,Zou et al.(2020 a)published a theoretical analysis on the radial flow of a Bingham fluid, where they argued that the classical analysis by Dai and Bird(1981)violates the mass conservation. The present discussion aims to clarify this conflict between those two studies. It is noted that Zou et al.(2020 a)presumed the gap-wise mass flux is negligible in the mass conservation equation, while Dai and Bird(1981)did not require so in their model, and this is found to be the origin of the conflict. In fact,Dai and Bird(1981)’s model is shown to not violate the mass conservation. Therefore, those two models should be viewed as separate models derived from different perspectives.Details of the major difference between the two models are discussed.

文摘This study used the germanium/silica(Ge/Si)ratios,together with rare earth elements and other trace elements to infer the siliceous source and sedimentary environment of the siliceous rocks located at the bottom of Yuertusi Formation in Northwestern Tarim Basin,Keping,China.Previous studies have shown that this siliceous rock stratum formed at the edge of the carbonate platform on the continental shelf.Researchers suggest that these siliceous rocks were formed by hydrothermal activity, but some still draw different conclusions.Understanding the silicon source and depositional environment of these siliceous rocks would help us learn the processes of environmental changes and the causes of biological explosions during this period. The value of germanium/silica ratios of these siliceous rocks is from 0.15 to 0.37 pmol/mol and much lower than above 10|imol/mol values in siliceous rocks that are known formed by hydrothermal activity. All samples are rich in HREE,which differ from hydrothermal siliceous rocks that are rich in LREE.Most samples lack hydrothermal related elements. All these features show that the source of these siliceous rocks'siliceous is not hydrothermal flu ids.The samples'Ce/Ce*range from 0.88 to 1,and Th/U ratios range from 0.01 to 0.36.These features suggest these siliceous rocks were formed in an anoxic environment.Considering all the evidence,we conclude that the siliceous rock stratum at the bottom of the Lower Cambrian Yuertusi Formation in northwest Tarim Basin.Keping, was formed in anoxic seawater at the edge of the carbonate platform on the continental shelf. Its silicon source is seawater instead of hydrothermal fluid.

文摘Hydrothermal fluid activity during sedimenta- tion of the Triassic Yanchang Formation in the Ordos Basin and the impact of said activity on formation and preservation conditions of source rocks have received little attention. Fe/Ti, Cu + Pb + Zn all exhibited high positive correlation coefficients with TOC in oil shale samples, suggesting that more intense hydrothermal fluid activity improves conditions in favor of formation and preservation of organic matter.

文摘High-pressure(HP)or ultrahigh-pressure(UHP)rutile-quartz veins that form at mantle depths due to fluid-rock interaction can be used to trace the properties and behavior of natural fluids in subduction zones. To explore the fluid flow and the associated element mobility during deep subduction and exhumation of the continental crust,we investigated the major and trace elements of Ti-rich minerals.Additionally,U–Pb dating, trace element contents, and Lu–Hf isotopic composition of zircon grains in the UHP eclogite and associated rutile-quartz veins were examined in the North Qaidam UHP metamorphic belt,Yuka terrane. The zircon grains in the rutile-quartz veins have unzoned or weak oscillatory zonings, and show low Th/U ratios, steep chondrite-normalized patterns of heavy rare earth elements(HREEs),and insignificant negative Eu anomalies, indicating their growth in metamorphic fluids. These zircon grains formed in 4313 Ma,which is consistent with the 4322 Ma age of the host eclogite. As for the zircons in the rutile-quartz veins, they showed steep HREE patterns on one hand, and were different from the zircons present in the host eclogite on the other. This demonstrates that their formation might have been related to the breakdown of the early stage of garnet, which corresponds to the abundance of fluids during the early exhumation stage. The core-rim profile analyses of rutile recorded a two-stage rutile growth across a large rutile grain;the rutile core has higher Nb,Ta,W,and Zr contents and lower Nb/Ta ratios than the rim, indicating that the rutile domains grew in different metamorphic fluids from the core towards the rim.The significant enrichment of high field strength elements(HFSEs)in the rutile core suggests that the peak fluids have high solubility and transportation capacity of these HFSEs.Furthermore, variations in the Nb vs.Cr trends in rutile indicate a connection of rutile to mafic protolith. The zircon grains from both the rutile-quartz veins and the host eclogite have similar Hf isotopic compositions, indicating that the vein-forming fluids are internally derived from the host eclogite. These fluids accumulated in the subduction channel and were triggered by local dehydration of the deeply subducted eclogite during the early exhumation conditions.

文摘The western Tianshan high-pressure(HP) metamorphic belt represents the paleosubduction mélange of paleozoic south Tianshan ocean between the Yili-central Tianshan and Tarim plates. The fluids in western Tianshan paleosubduction zones are mixtures of two sources, dehydration or devolatilization of host rocks and of subducted sediments.
文摘As demonstrated by a great amount of geologic and experimental evidences, RE of rock systems may be mobilized during fluid-rock interaction when solutions are rich in F -, Cl -, CO 3 2-, HCO 3 -, CO 2, HPO 4 2-, HS -, S 2-, SO 4 2-, though little has been known about the mobilizing mechanism of these anions or ligands. It was demonstrated that RE mobility is a potentially useful method for exploration.

文摘The load/unload experiments on rock failure under pressure have been carried out in Material Test System (MTS) in the Laboratory for Non-linear Mechanics of Continuous Media (LNM), Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and load/unload response ratio (LURR) values with strain as response (i.e. inverse elastic constant as response rate) have been obtained. The experimental results are in accordance with theoretical results and those in real earthquakes: LURR rises just before rock failure. So LURR can be used as the precursor of rock failure and earthquake prediction.
