In this work, two kinds of modified PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane) membranes used for PVAP have been tested, the characteristics and kinetics of the process were investigated, and a set of kinetic equations has been derived along with the experimental results. The results show some major advantages of this process over that with ultrafiltration, more concentrated ethanol can be obtained from the broth directly; no appreciable fouling on the membrane and the process can be controlled steadily.展开更多
