Designing the parameters for FOPI controller is a challenging task, especially for nonlinear systems like PMSM.All three PI controllers in the conventional vector controlled speed drive are replaced by FOPI controllers. Design of these FOPI controllers is based on the locally linearized model of PMSM around an operating point. This operating point changes with the load torque. The novelty of the work reported here is in use of Non Linear Disturbance Observer(NLDO) to estimate load torque to obtain this new operating point. All three FOPI controllers are then designed adaptively using this new operating point. The scheme is tested on simulation using MATLAB/SIMULINK and results are presented.展开更多

The stability analysis of the nonlinear chaotic system is made based on the proportional-integral-derivative actions using the bifurcation diagram. We extract an initial set of controller parameters, which are subsequently optimized using a quadratic criterion. The integral and derivative fractional orders are also identified by this quadratic criterion. By applying numerical simulations on two nonlinear systems, namely the multi-scroll Chen system and the Genesio-Tesi system,we show that the fractional PI~λD~μ controller provides the best closed-loop system performance in stabilizing the unstable fixed points, even in the presence of random perturbation.展开更多

The delay margin of the system with fractional-order PI control has been obtained for various fractional integral orders and the effect of them has been shown on the delay margin as a third controller parameter. Furthermore, the stability of the system that is either under or over the delay margin is examined by generalized modified Mikhailov criterion. The stability results obtained have been confirmed numerically in time domain. It is demonstrated that the proposed controller for delayed LFC system provides more flexibility on delay margin according to integer-order PI controller.展开更多
